5 days and 45 miles alone on the Lost Coast of California had it all - rain, wind, blue skies with sun; creek crossings, snow-trudging, seal watching, and more. Being from the Bay Area, I'm rather used to the ocean and I've seen some spectacular coastline, so I was skeptical as to how great the Lost Coast could really be. Well, it lives up to the hype - and then some. What a privilege it was to experience such a place... although I am quite glad to be done with beachwalking for a while. Not the greatest hiking surfaces out there!
