- The 2023 #KiaSportage offers both gas-only and #hybrid powertrains and the #Sportage Hybrid is the one to buy! With 227 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque plus just a $600-$1,000 upcharge over the gas model, Jake loved the Sportage Hybrid's power delivery and fuel economy - on top of the generally fantastic interior. It's a lot of car for the money.

I've had my SX Prestige since July '22. I was getting around 36 mpg in warm weather but closer to 31-32 mpg in cold weather. Great vehicle all around.
Word to the wise. That dual setup for temperature and volume, can be defaulted. There's a button you can hold for 3 seconds and it will default to either for the volume and climate. That will solve the issue of cracking up the climate fan vs the volume.
Interesting, good to know. Wouldn't have solved our issue though, we just brushed the button while going for the volume knob and it changed to climate.
@@OutMotorsports This is a great review and production. The complaints about the console controls are moot, because the audio controls are on the steering wheel for undistracted operation while driving. Set the console to default to HVAC, use the steering wheel controls while driving, and stop whining. The console controls are available for passenger interface and comfort. The style and design elements of this vehicle must be understood in order to be appreciated, and then easily modified to individual preferences. Options are good. Keep those eyes on the road, stay safe, and enjoy!
This video was very helpful! I'm currently looking to buy a new car and the Kia Sportage is high on my list. This video just might have brought it to the top.
Thanks Morgan, glad you enjoyed! It's worth your consideration, for sure.
Great review!
Nice thorough review, but your voice tone really made it great
nice video! stuck looking for one of these in the SX prestige trim & vesta blue. located in miami fl but i find myself looking out of state too! any tips?
Very honest video
Hey! Great review on my vehicle, haha! We have this exact vehicle and love it! I just subbed from SW FL ♥️🌈☀️😎
Thanks for subscribing, glad you love your Sportage!
Overall, I love the new Sportage! This and the Tuscon is my top choice in the compact suv segment. I love unique styling and features, compares to the cut and paste CR-V with Civic interior styling cues.
Yeah, I just got a new Tucson Limited. I can’t imagine investing so much money in a vehicle such as the CR-V, RAV-4, Escape, and such that don’t offer any intrigue from a design perspective. What’s the point in buying a new vehicle that looks like it was made 10 years ago?
I want one
Your MPG results match the forums. Most folks are not getting the EPA rating by a fair bit. That said, i drove this car and it was a wonderful , comfortable commuter.
Very comfortable with a lot to like! Not sporty in the least but that's okay. Interesting that most are not getting the EPA rating. It's hard to really evaluate MPG with our week-long testing unless we dedicate a day to a true "MPG run" kind of drive. Lots of idling for photos/video and every week's drive scenarios are different than the last. I figured cold weather played a factor in this case, too.
@@OutMotorsports People are saying the same thing about the honda crv hybrids
Re-check the forums, they are reporting better MPG with warmer weather.
@@ThisGuyRides indeed
My wife said that her mpg is much better than her Honda CRV sport hybrid when she does not use the heater.
Using the heater does absolutely nothing to the mileage in a regular gas car.
That sweater is nicer than the car
Aw shucks 🙃 the Sportage is pretty nice though
change dash to digital mph and tach, tach at 0.0 engine off
If only there wasn't a 6-month wait for this vehicle with dealers all charging $5k "market adjustment" value ON TOP of the MSRP and taxes/fees, these are going for $45-48k it's robbery!
Yeeeeah dealers who add fees like that are insane.
I'm in California. Ordered my EX Hybrid with the premium package from a dealership in Colorado. Even with me flying to Colorado to pick it up, it'll still be less than trying to buy it in my state.
They fuel economy is horrrrrrible should be so much better. City MPG should be significantly better then Highway and 10mpg below the estimated is horrible.
I prefer the diesel.
We don't get the diesel in the U.S.!
Here in Britain, we get a poor version of this. Ours is the short wheelbase version and we only get black interiors. No colours at all. Give us a choice, Kia.
Is that all? Diesel does better.
Nobody sells new diesel cars in US
What’s the point, any mpg saving are instantly wiped out by diesel prices.
