I am a big fan of Nightshade, My only gripe in the show iis why does the Owl sound like a Hawk lol.

The reason for the four stars are the lack of Hot Shot and Double Clutch.
I haven't been able to see much of EarthSpark because I can't afford to get Paramount+ and I don't like pirating, so the only way I have to watch the show is on DVD. So far, the last episode I saw was Age of Evolution, Part Two. Still, I did like what I saw of Nightshade in those few episodes and I'd like to see more of them.
I wish the wings could flap forward, for an iconic owl dive-pounce. I am tempted to sand down the nubs on their wings that prevent it.
You could also pop them off the ball joints and switch them around so the cut for the ball socket is on the opposite side. They do flap forward a little bit but not by much, I don't think they need to move more than that though. Of course if you do swap the wings they'll be in the wrong direction if you want to display them perched.

Why do they have knives? That seems very unlike them.
The knives look nice, but doesn’t fit the character much. Probably better to give them to other characters to use

Just picked up this figure earlier today, and they're already one of my favorites. The owl mode may be pretty gapey, but it's got a cool art deco look to it while their robot mode looks like a golden age superhero. Nightshade is one of the best new characters introduced in the last couple of years, and I hope to see them crossover to other Transformers media in the future.
BAM! I still have not found Nightshade in any of my local stores, BUT did find my personal favorite (maybe a fellow Autistic character) Terran Jawbreaker!

Is Jawbreaker Autistic? I kind of hope he is cause it would be a change of pace from Chase and Medix who are both portrayed exactly the same way which is kind of a stereotype at this point.

I also have both molds... I actually have TWO of Twitch because the first one I bought had a lot of QC issues that prevent anything from being able to tab in correctly to get her into vehicle mode. Hasbro sent me a replacement for free and that one works fine. Despite the QC issues I like Twitch just a little bit better. She looks more like the animation model in both modes where as Nightshade is good enough for what that figure needs to do but could probably be done better if it wasn't a cheaper toy line. I kind of prefer to keep them in owl mode because the robot doesn't look quite right. Aside from the inaccurate wings in robot mode the face sculpt just isn't as good as Twitch. I still like both figures but Twitch is my favorite and it's kind of an accident that I can display her in both modes at the same time. My defective one still looks good as a robot she just can't transform into vehicle mode cause nothing lines up correctly so the good one is in vehicle mode and my messed up one is stuck in robot mode.
Really solid figure, can’t complain with their alt mode and robot but man they have seen the depths of hell with that face sculpt 😢
OK Hasbro, make a TM2 Prowl out of this toy!
A suggestion for the wings if you want to have them more compact and less spread out (and I will try it on mine when I get them) is maybe just pop the bottom peg off and then Z fold the rest of the wing similar to how you showed it when you took the wing completely off.
Either that or just have the wings splayed behind them; don't know what that will do for the balance though and you would probably still see the tops of the wings behind them. Still, looking forward to when Down Under can buy them and Grimlock since Hasbro refuses to open their website to us.

I already had this figure on my desk. I was messing with them while the video was going in the background. Did you have the issue with the wing. Emgo and a couple other reviewers mentioned it and I had the same issue with mine where we had to shave one of the pegs to make it actually fit properly.
I do like this figure, I have a couple MINOR nit picks that I wish had been done a bit differently. I feel like if the wings had better articulation they could be folded against the back to cover the Owl face and give them a more accurate robot mode. It wouldn't even really take much to fix that, there's a ball joint and a hinge already but that hinge is so close to the ball joint that it doesn't really serve a purpose. If that hinge was set further out the wing could be collapsed against the back of the figure.
The only other issue is just personal preference, and Hasbro could still do this later down the line, but I really like their ninja look from the show so I'm kind of hoping for a remold with their alternate robot mode design and it would be far more appropriate to leave the wings extended on that version. Though their robot mode wings have a different design from the beast mode so if they did another figure based on that battle mode appearance the beast mode will likely look wrong. I wouldn't mind getting this figure twice though. That's not bad at all when the worst thing I can say about this figure is just I'd prefer the battle mode head over the standard robot head.
I find it funny how much that lanky robot compacts into the owl mode. They are unmistakably a deluxe but you could mistake them for a cheaper legends class if you only saw the owl and didn't know how they transform. I have a couple other legends on my desk and not counting wing span the owl is surprisingly small. It doesn't feel like a cheaper legends class, the robot mode is on par with Twitch who I also have on my desk, it's just that the robot compacts more into the alt mode which is impressive.
So I'm not really a fan of this character but I absolutely love this figure. It reminds me a lot of The Silver Hawks especially in the owl head sculpt. Maybe I should give them another chance.

Lets hope not, that's the wrong Tarantulas. BW Tarantulas would EAT Nightshade. Earthspark Tarantulas a VERY different character. You should never confuse the two.

Hopefully Hasbro gives us a more show accurate representation of Earth Spark Tarantulus but you could use use the Beast Wars version as a stand in until we get an official one. That's entirely your choice.

I love this little owl as a character and a toy. They are so warm and kind, but ness with their family and they go full battle mode. I wish their face sculpt wasn't so weird though. I think some more angling on the eyes and removing the extra slits from the side of the mouth would've done wonders.

Is anyone keeping track of the Japanese dub of Earthspark? I doubt there's any official or fan-subbed versions out there like Armada or the JG1 shows, but i'm curious as to how Nightshade's character was / will be handled. I heard a rumor that it's the same director as the old JP Beast Wars (mainframe) dub.
I'm kind of curious about how the Takara version of them will look in hand, under some non-studio lighting. I really like how the deluxe Terrans have turned out so far. Weird how Hashtag is the only one who doesn't appear to have one in the works (see deluxe Jawbreaker listing), considering how much development she got in the show. Those darn writers are going to coax a lot of money out of me when these characters inevitably get Generations toys one day.

I got Nightshade recently and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they turned out. The transformation is really well done, it's simple but effective and everything tabs in nicely. Bonus points for Owl.
I don't watch the show. Too kiddy-ish but I dig the Nightshade design and I also picked up Twitch.
I do hope to see this character in generations. I want it to blend well with my WFC/legacy collection. I'd like to add this character and beast wars TM2 Prowl, both black & white variants, to my WFC/Legacy collection. I could then have a two or three owl bot recon spy team. 😃😃😃
Not a fan of the robot more head sculpt, honestly it mostly comes down to those eyes. You can do rounded eyes and still hava character but on this occasion the result just looks blank, vacant.

If Hasbro were to do a Mega Man crossover line, in the vein of the street fighter one, I think Sage Harpuia from the Zero series could do great as a Nightshade repaint. Both have very similar helmets, and Nightshade's daggers could be colored pink to represent Harpuia's twin Beam Sabers. The only thing I would change is the face. Frankly my biggest gripe with this figure, but not a very large one.

I hadn’t planned on getting another Earthspark figure after Twitch, but when Nightshade was introduced, I decided they had to be added to my collection. I love Nightshade as a character, and they now have a place of honor on my shelf. Also, I really like owls, so this was a big win as a figure.

So maybe a nitpick but ever since this figure was revealed the eyes have kinda bugged me, like i think the way they tried to translate them from the model makes them look like goggles(like maybe make the dots a bit smaller & move them a bit closer), and combined with the mouth & silver kinda make poor Nightshade look like they've died.
Same, I got them today and the only nitpick with me is how their face was designed. Looks weird, but I still like the figure. Maybe some third party could make an upgrade head
You can switch the wings off the balljoints for a more biologically accurate perch

I wouldn't call these "Happy Meal" toys. I've had a few literal Happy Meal Transformers growing up. The one step changers are Happy Meal, these are way better than that.

NGL i find the head sculpt really cursed on this figure, i think its the eyes.
My only gripe so far, is that Hasbro have cancelled Nightshade's wave shipping to the UK so I'll have to import them, shame as I think they look one of the nicest figures that have come out for Earthspark so far
This is no place for bigots. Nightshade is a well-written character. They have one of the best character arcs.
For a budgeted toy, I was really surprised with this toy's engineering. You can see that a lot of thought was put into their design. Even though the figure is not completely accurate to the show, the clean silhouette on both forms show us the genius of this toy.
This is easily the coolest figure in the line. I have every deluxe and all the warriors that did not get a deluxe, and Nightshade is hands down the coolest and most posable. Huge fan of how they handled this 20 dollar deluxe

Thank you for being a good person regarding this character, and yeah this turned out surprisingly good. Funny observation about the knives, too, reminds me of how Legacy Beachcomber ended up with a gun lol. I'll probably pass just due to my budget making me extremely picky on figures, but this is a great proof-of-concept that Nightshade could make a really good Generations figure down the line. Definitely on my wishlist of characters to hit those lines(and certainly more likely to come before Anode, when it comes to trans transformer representation).
So why the they/them stuff? Haven't seen the show, but is it that big in the show?
its just part of the Character. its their identity and its just another thing to mske them unique is all.
They dedicated a whole episode to their pronouns.
There's one scene later in the first season where Nightshade meets a nonbinary human named Sam (she/they), and they bond over their shared experiences. Aside from that, Nightshade's gender identity only really comes up when they're meeting a new person, and introduce themselves with their pronouns. At least, from the episodes I've seen. I'll admit to being a bit behind.

Not so fun fact... I use to be in the hater camp. Part of the reason I'm not anymore is because even when I was I never wanted to see anyone hurt over a difference in opinion. Seeing straight cis people threaten gay and trans individuals who were just minding their own business not actually bothering anyone, that's what made me realize I was on the wrong side. I'm a pacifist, I don't care if we agree or disagree about most things but I don't believe violence is the way to change anyone's mind. If anything it's just going to validate the fears they already have.
And to clarify, I'm not saying you can't defend yourself against bigots, if they want to get physical then by all means protect yourself. I'm just saying don't start the fight. Avoid the fight if you can but self defense is totally justified when needed.
To be honest, this "Owlette" is poorly implemented excuse for an "Inclusive Gay Transformer" character to complete an political agenda bias, compared to a much more developed and charismatic one that was the Doctor Knockout from TFP; which its still more memorable (And I also I loved that IDW made it canon the Conjux Endura With Breakdown) than this binary glitched terran...Which to me it reflects very well an innocent but jerky generation of robots who didn't saw the war, compared to those who had been into it...
