Concrete Pour and Polishing Concrete Floors, Incl. Full Time Lapse - Machine Shop Build Ep. 13

  • Machine shop floor is getting poured in. Pouring and concrete leveling is done by a professional construction contractor. Surface hardener was added before concrete polishing with a trowel machine. I also did a concrete pour time lapse from this and you can see nice smooth shiny polished concrete floors as a result. Enjoy! I know I will.

    I've a similar project, stalled at the moment, because setting in the reinforcing, and pipework, then concreting is the next step. So, using a contractor for the concreting, might be a good idea, as my back is not up to much bending work.

    That concrete wasnt polished, just hard troweled with a machine. Your concrete guy did a great job and obviously knows what hes doing by screeding flat and using pans on his machine at first to get it even flatter, but its still not polished concrete like title says. More like a "burnished" concrete floor.
    it would be a great foundation for a polishing contractor to start with though, if you wanted an actual real diamond polished floor

    • @DonnDIY

      @murraykyle1643 Před 5 lety

      2 flaws. 1st is no vibration. 2nd is throwing cement over the surface whilst floating. The floor is thin and the concrete had a high slump so most air probably was tamped out when striking off. You should never throw cement powder on as it can onion peel off later, the action of the power float blades is supposed to draw the cement fines to the surface and so create a dense crust.
