- Hello cyclist friends. This video tutorial is about the shifter on a bicycle.
It often happens that the speeds on the bike do not want to switch and in this video, we will look at the reasons why this happens.
I will show you all the steps, how to disassemble the shifter, how to clean and lubricate it.
I will also use a shimano sl-m310 derailleur.

With a 25y old bike I attest this works. Was googling for new shifters when this popped up. 10 min job and they work like new. Used a multi spray to clean and some oil to lubricate. Should have known this 10 years ago lol. Thanks! 👍

Anm.: Es hat mich eine wenig verwundert, das doch "nur" wenige Aufrufe des Videos stattgefunden haben. What kind of lube is that?
For lube, we use thick calcium grease Divinol
gear shifter spring(bottom part) fell of my shifter how can I fix it.

merhaba usta,bende 10 lu deore vites kolu var.vites küçültme kolu (uzun olan) bazen boşa düşüyor,bir kaç basma da anca vites düşürüyor,neden olabilir.Bu şekilde temizlesem acaba düzelir mi ?
İyi günler. Elinizle kabloyu çekerken kablo çıkarılmış halde tıklamayı deneyin. Vites değiştirici çalışıyorsa, büyük olasılıkla içine girmenize gerek yoktur. Büyük olasılıkla sorun kabloda veya anahtar ayarlarındadır

The Shimano MC10 rear 7 speed shifters from 1993 weren't very reliable .
According to Giant dealers they were often prone to failure .
These Nice Bike repair videos seem more effective than many others. Perhaps the reason is the lack of constant verbal blabbering like most other how to videos. Minimal captions explain the work. Watch and learn !
I have the older "numbers printed on top, but guess what I'm in" type derailleur shifters. You're showing one of those newer "trigger" type shifter. Not quite the same thing.
Maybe the next video will have a shifter like yours)

obligé d'enlever le câble pour accéder à l'indicateur de plateau ? je veux dire, mes plateaux changent mais l'indicateur est bloqué... à priori le ressort est délogé.
I was hoping that the whole shifter would have been taken apart, but unfortunately not.

shimano ............ Imagine putting steel tabs round a bolt you have to bend back to service and the tabs break off laving a useless shifter sl m360 not cheap to replace. Next time i need to service a shifter i will just buy a cheapo replacement.
It's not always possible to have a replacement at hand, and it's not always the client who wants to change the shifter.
