Classic cars with blackout door frames and window trims look good with tint.
Re: window tint...my motto is, if it has has black painted door frames, tint the windows. If they're body colour, leave them clear.
I would tint most cars, with that having the black around the doors it would definitely finish it off with some nice dark glass
I always use window tint. With our harsh sun I think it's important, but each to their own.
i think if you're going to be driving it in summer, it needs tint
i know they can look ok without but i say sanity over vanity
tint makes a massive temp difference as well as protects your interior
I would have black tint on the windows
Just adds to the black and green you have going there mark 👍👍
Classic cars no tint
Modern cars definitely tint
Definitely tint. On a warm day, those seats will be hot AF...just like the olden days
Some Holden's had green glass windows that looked really good sandman utes hAd reat tinted window from factory painted on tint they looked good
I live in QLD, so I put tint on everything, saves you from sunburn and the cars interior will last longer. Also, Supercheap thinners (Acetone) will help get the old tint glue off a lot easier.
Thanks for sharing! The heat is defiantly a factor
Well done my friend :)>>. You should be proud of what you’ve done !!!!
Agree with no tint on classics👍
💪🏼
Hi Mark, I been watching your channel every week nice build on the Sandman I would suggest light tint or clear tint
Keep up the great work
I like the factory light green tint on 50s-60s cars bc I recon it suits them, but 70s cars look better clear for some reason.keep chipping away mate👍
Mark try clear window tint
I agree with the clear windows, even tho tint does look good, if you're just flipping the car I'd leave them clear and the next owner can spend their money on tint as they may decide to take it back off!!?? If you can't make a decision on it I'd go just a light tint! 👍🇦🇺
Yeah if I was keeping it I’d likely put a clear tint just go reduce the UV
I see the XB is collecting more dust. Fingers crossed she'll see some attention soon 🤞
Just use a clear tint (or even just a high vlt rating) for the UV protection.
I will for the cars I keep, indeed!
It's a shame I'm not closer to Adelaide. I'd donate my spare glass just to see this build finished.
Looking good buddy. Definitely ceramic tint. Bit more expensive but worth it 💪🤩
True that!
Same. I prefer clear glass on oldies.
🙌🏼
The Sandman looks great, replica or genuine
I'm saying what you said 😮😊 🍺🍻🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺😎✌👍
Looking fantastic nice work so far Mark, have a great weekend 👊 cheers🍺🍻 KC 🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺😎✌👍
Thanks, you too!
Looking good man 👍
Seeing that the glass is scratched tint might help great content keep up the great work
Need some tint if driving frequently. No tint if a random cruiser.
Yeah light window tint 👌
A light tint is a good compromise between looks and comfort.
Hey Mark
About time you got back to the Sandman build bro… great to see the awesome progress happening
Looking forward to the finished product mate
Cheers Az
Black frames will look fine with tint.
I tint everything I own, 20% at a minimum. If I can get away with it I go 5%.
Dark tint will contrast awesome with that bright paint.
I was watching Castlemaine rod shop and the chassis parts they make for the front of kingswoods don’t fit perfectly because they are different so the hole car is probably the same
Retro ozi bubble windows - could help if you can't find a rear.
Why have you not got a reference manual? Even experienced mechanics have a manual reference library. Even if you can’t get a genuine workshop manual, a Gregory’s or Haynes will make life easier. Saves heaps of time and frustration especially when working with looms. I hate looms but fortunately these cars are pretty basic. Get a schematic.
The other frustrating thing is that these cars are not up to the engineering standards of the Japanese cars and often stuff just doesn’t line up as it should. Hence the most used tool at GM, the Holden screwdriver…or more commonly known as a small ball-peen hammer and cold chisel.
Often you’ll find that putting stuff together looks intuitive but it ain’t.
Can understand rhe dilemma, I have WB ute and some days I think tint would be good and other days I think keep it as original as possible.
It’s a pity I’m in Sydney as I’d love to get a picture of this with my XY Ute which is a very similar colour ( videos on here) any way it looks like it’s coming along nicely. By the way I’m the same old cars = no tint. Although I did chuck a Venetian on the back window. 👍
I like the classics with out tint, but in our country I think we need it. I came across a guy down Marion way that has a clear film to put on instead of the tint that reduces the heat and uv rays like tint, I think ill go that way when I get to it.
Yeah I’m keen on clear for some of my projects!
There's a rear window on ebay that is in SA...
I am a Ford man deep down, but that does look great Mate.
This is taking sooo long. Almost as long as one of my builds. Ok ,no where near as long.😆. Looks fing awsome champ.
Limo black on the rear window only.
Personally I would go with tint. Bum meeting hot vinyl seats is not a happy moment.
Hahah the yeah heat isn’t great on vinyl
It would look choice with blacked out paint work between the door rubbers and the door cards👌not that you have enough to do 😂🍻
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
No tint see all the beauty
Clear windows are so much nicer on older cars..
Please don’t cut the door cards for winder windows, install a power window kit while you can
G'day Mark you legend how have you been brother
No tint
Looking great is this a keeper?
Not this one mate, I’d loooove a HJ sedan to keep though!
Your car your choice im here for Motivation to get my arse into gear
Go get it 💪🏼
Did you find a rear window
I think classic cars with there loose windows and scratchy old rollers & rubbers tint is a bad idea it just looks like shit
Hey bro can i asked what is ur daily job?
Wasabi Sandman > Wanabe Sandman
How can I say this without offending....I feel your kinda stuck in an era 🤔 don't get me wrong all your car builds are nice 👍 👌 just I picturing if all builds said and done are placed side by side there is a theme and it's carrying on basically from one to the next maybe it's painting walls on every wheel of your builds...sorry bloke just personal opinion....this isn't related but also the graphics on the Torana yes it pops but looks like something you bought as a kid from Hot Wheels or MatchBox ....just some stuff is a little over the top with pop....
