Thanks for the update. What’s funny is that I used one the other day and I was disappointed with the action, especially after seeing how well it moved in the Mike Iaconelli video. I actually said to my fishing buddy that I thought the Megabass Magdraft had better action. I was using the HD Gizzard color so the next day I took an Albino shad color one to a local pond to see if it would have a different action. I thought it was a little better but not to the point that got this bait rave reviews. Now I know why. I put in my request to have my seven 6” Cull Shads replace. Thanks again for that informative video.

I'm glad they're doing this. I knew something was up with mine the first time I threw it out and retrieved it. It swims tail-up with a super exaggerated body roll...kinda like fishing a 2x4 plank.

I just got one off EBay. Totally forgot they recalled these. Took it to the lake yesterday and it swims all fucked up. The seller obviously had the old ones and either knew or didn’t know about the recall. It’s too late to get a replacement now.

@@CBALLZ666 what i did to my old one is boil it for about 8-10 minutes. That really softens it up. Then I put the two suggested nail weights in the belly to get it lower in the water column, since I wanted to run my old one deeper than the replacement. Now, it swims pretty decent except for very slow rolling. Slow rolling it causes the tail to stop altogether and then the body just rocks side to side. But, speed it up just a bit and it gets kinda close to the way the new replacement swims. Not perfect, but definitely usable and WAAAAY better than it was!

Bout one 8inch other day 11-13 -23 must have been a new one it was awesom action an size been waiting along time for a swim bait this big,mag draft is a good fish catching bait but at 25$ for 8 inch I said no way but at 15$ for 8inch Culkin shad ,after seeing it had good action an a tuffer more durable body I went back bought two 8 inch two 6 inch alittle bigger an bulker than mag draft,I haven't caught anything on it yet I was testing it in pond see how it looked,7-15 bass on mag draft it's tore up I hope this cull shad holds up better

Im just now checking these out. Do you think old stock has been replaced with the new stock? If not how can you tell the difference?
I do know that the deadline has passed to claim the new ones. I haven’t got the new ones yet but what I understood was that the originals didn’t all swim properly. Thanks for watching

Thanks for stopping and watching! I would suggest a 7 foot or 7 foot 6 heavy action rod for bigger baits. You don’t have to buy the best bait casting set up out there. I use a 7foot 3 inch Abu Garcia MLF bait casting combo for my bigger swim baits
It reminds me of some other swimbait, Berkley is really good at it...

Be nice if they actually replaced them. Was originally supposed to be replaced in August, then I get an email telling me it would be September 15th before they ship. It is now September 25th and still nothing, not even a response to my email.
Update, I finally received my Cull Shads, took them a while but they did replace them.

Berkley thinks they can just copycat a MegaBass Magdraft that perhaps took many years to develop and make a profit from someone else's hard work. I'l stick to Megabass until I really see a reason to give the cullshad a try. I'm not a fan of the under treble hook placement. I perfer the Megabass freestyle with the underbelly weight .

I don’t get much use out of my magdraft, especially compared to my cull shad. Honestly, I wish megabass would do a recall on their magdraft because it only performs well at an annoyingly specific speed & only in slack water. Where as my cull shad can be slow rolled, cranked, popped, zipped, ripped, flipped and everything in between…& in current, slack water, deep or shallow. The pre-made holes inside the belly give me an option to slip a weight inside of it without ripping up the plastic. And ya fish crush it. So for half the price it’s a win win. Not to knock on magdraft though because I know ppl love it, but it’s no where near as versatile for me.
