All my best friends are cheerleaders and my whole life involves cheerleading, but I just want to remind all you cheerleaders to appreciate that you can be on the mat and tumble, jump, stunt etc because one day it might be gone! I got injured two weeks before NCA and so now I have a ACL knee injury and I'm going to do surgery and probably won't be back on the mat until next year…even though its hard sometimes just don't forget to appreciate this opportunity you have to be a part of competitive all star cheerleading because it really is amazing and will give memories for life!
@@animoo. Awe thank you for asking...five years later haha! No unfortunately I had to quit. But I did coach my gyms youth level 1 team for 2 years after my knee injury. After my ACL got torn my meniscus got torn a year later from just trying to stand up from sitting on the floor. So they first fixed my meniscus and then 7 weeks after they finally fixed my ACL (at first they didn't want to do knee surgery on someone so young they thought I could do fine without an ACL but ugh I dislocated the knee like 2 more times because of it...). My surgery knee is doing pretty well today but my entire body has just given up, i'm 23 now but believe I have early age arthritis. I would have definitely taken care of my body more during my cheer days if I knew the body pain I would have today. Also related to the injury (how my coaches treated me when the injury occurred) I recently started therapy and have begun to work through the emotional trauma the injury gave me 5 years ago. I'm slowly healing emotionally and doing much better now :)
Fvworld This is why people should always appreciate that they get to do cheer because they may never get to do it again I hope you well do physically and emotionally well and I wish you the best for now and future

You should tryout you have 3 years until you age out and after that you can still join an open team. It's never too late! Trust me I didn't join till I was 12

You are never to old to start something you want to do let me tell you cheerleading will give u the best feeling it makes you feel accomplished and the friends you'll make the bonds you have with your teammates I hope you start cheering it's amazing 😉😉🎀🎀

If you can, you could say that you will help to pay for some of the extra expenses that are involved with bigger gyms. Like for example travel may be a bigger part ect. That could be one of hwr reasonings

I really want to try all star cheer bc ive been doing PAL (youth, walk on team) and school teams for 5 years now (this year would be my 5th) and I always dream of being on a all star team but im not sure if i would make it. So instead of being on a high school team, i wanted to try all star. When tryouts start ill be 13 so i wanted to know if id be too old and if theres a level 1 team for 13 year old to be on. Im not that skilled in tumbling but im pretty good in everything else. And i heard that everyone makes a team? Is that true? And can someone please explain tryouts to me. PLEASE ANSWER I REALLY NEED ALL THE HELP I COULD GET!! thanks!
+xoally_cheerox honestly, don't stress it. if you're not super skilled in tumbling it's okay, you'll make a Level 1 team and then you can only move up from there because they will help you get to where you want to be skillwise. i tried out last year with only a handspring and now i have 8 connected handsprings and a tuck and a full and they help you so it's not that bad and you will enjoy it. good luck, girla.

Tell her you really wanna be serious about cheer, and that you'd really improve if you switched gyms.
