      But in my case, I had to move the Hall Sensor PCB a bit to the front (slanted side), as the magnet "overshot" its target by a millimeter or so, causing a second triggered event on its way back. But that was an easy fix, and the shifts feel sooo satisfying. (I upgraded from the magnetic AliExpress shifter.)

    • @andreasotto1977
      @andreasotto1977 Před 8 měsíci

      After a few hours of serious banging, I noticed my shaft also getting lose. (Puns intended, of course.)
      So I opened up the shifter to see what I can do. Turns out Sim Jack put an additional bolt between the interlocking plates which, after adding some thread locker and re-tightening the nut, successfully eliminates the play.
      As I can neither add photos nor links here, I'll send you an email showing the new internals.

    I got mine yesterday, pretty happy with the build quality and feel over all for the price, and I've had no compatibility issues of any kind, but mine sounds quite creaky and squeaky. I think I'm going to have to open it up and see what the cause is. Hopefully it just needs a bit of lube. Update: I talked with simjack and they ended up sending me an entirely new internal mechanism for the shifter. It was fairly easy to install and it cleared the creaking noises right up. Quite pleased with it now!
    Other than that I think I'll get myself a taller knob to bring it up to the height that I want, and because I think the stock one is a little bit plain jane.

    the end of the spring rubs against a metal part which now causes an unpleasant scratching noise. G'day there, I just purchased a sim jack sequential after seeing your amazing & thorough reviews/recommendation, thank you for making it so easy to buy sim gear with 100% confidence!
    I was just hoping to please get your advice or opinion on the action of my one and if it's normal/inherent in the design but I have a fair bit of play in one direction of selection.
    Moving it forward is perfect with a nice firm and smooth tension till the click however going the other way there is a pretty noticeable amount of play before getting to the firm/tension feeling.
    I have made a clip to try and illustrate it as much as possible and from I can tell its due to the positioning of the ball bearing in groove. czcams.com/video/VlFvPXydscw/video.htmlfeature=shared
    Any info regarding this & if it's normal would be sincerely appreciated mate, thank you.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It should be consistent in both directions. Looking at yours, it looks a little offset in the resting position and not centred in the cutout. You can see that versus mine in the teardown segment of my review. czcams.com/video/iUa8A4BNBps/video.htmlsi=-gF40qp8b9C6GaCI&t=204

      Thank you for taking the time to reply & confirming that for me mate I sincerely appreciate it.
      It definitely wasnt centering properly and after more hours than I care to mention trying to get it right including flipping the spring which just changed the direction of the play...I've ultimately settled on shimming the leg of the spring with some aluminium can rolled into a sleeve which has centered/got rid of the play but has made that direction maybe a touch softer as I guess it's got a kind if pre-load on it now but it will have to do

      @@SimRacingCornerG'day again mate,
      I've tried posting this over 5 times but it keeps getting removed on my end...I think initially due to an Ali link but then full name reference?
      On an unrelated/related note regarding the Simjack sequential, I went for the short handle version but on the off chance I needed more height I also bought this gear knob from Ali which arrived today.
      "Epman Real Carbon Stealth Adjustable"
      czcams.com/video/a2B41_vAJYM/video.htmlsi=739J2P1w2HmgCrdl
      Its quite a nifty solution but also cheap, great quality & has a super nice look & feel so I thought if you haven't come across it, it might make a good short review as I'm sure there are others out there that could make good use of its custom height adjustable design for any type of shifter but I think it's form alone especially lends itself to a sequential shifter & also gives a more substantial feeling over the already nice stock Simjack alloy knob.
      Cheers
