- Too often is this my experience in Master Duel. Please don't spend money on Master Duel, Legacy of the Duelist is a much better game (and has a much better banlist).
Yu-Gi-Oh! has almost completely degenerated into Special Summon spam and conventionally banned board wipe spells. The people who complain about "10 Turn Duels" will happily take over 10 goddamn minutes on Turn 1. Apparently control decks like mine "aren't fun to play against" and "prevent them from playing the game". Fuck those people and fuck the creators who turned this game into such an abomination. I'm currently maining an updated Uria, Lord of Searing Flames OTK deck circa 2006 and am currently Gold Rank II. EDIT: I'm now familiar with the combo they're trying to perform with Gossip Shadow and Rhongomyniad. Normally they would transfer Gossip Shadow's materials to Rhongo allowing him to wipe my field, but they mistakenly summoned Rhongo with 3 materials which gives him the effect of being "unaffected by other cards' effects" which includes Gossip Shadow. They spent an awfully long time to put all that crap on the field just to fuck up their board wipe.

Bruh as a person that plays modern yugioh I tell people if you were to actually pronounce everything you do like people in the anime do, you'll begin to realize how blown out of proportion Yugioh has gotten over the years.

Modern yugioh has become solitaire with a spectator. It's a massive waste of time to sit through other peoples combios, they all boil down to doing the same things over and over for minutes on end. Its a boring slog to sit through them. I scoop when I detect someone is just gunna try forcing me to waste my time watching them play with themselves all day. Idc if I lose by scooping during another players combos, I don't wanna waste my time watching the combos when I wanna actually PLAY MY OWN CARDS. I cant play my cards (except boring hand traps to interrupt) if my opponent is on their turn and spending an eternity on their one turn masterbating with card effects that only search and summon shit over and over.
Bottom line is, if you take too long doing shit in a single turn and I become bored, I scoop because you aren't worth my time. I play yugioh to TRY to have fun but get disappointed pretty frequently...my relationship with this game is unhealthy love-hate and I cant seem to stop myself from coming back to it no matter how often playing it puts me in a sour mood

We had a little highschool YGO tourney once. Most were casual players who used whatever they had. This was when Pendulums were brand new. There was a tryhard using Six Samurai who came 3rd after beating me. He called my fairy The Agents deck 'really frustrating' because I spammed Scrap Iron Scarecrow, Marshmallon, and Sanctuary in the Sky......... we had to split our match into two separate rounds between lunch break because his turns took so long. I stopped playing since Pendulums and Links only made shit worse.
On God your experience is frighteningly identical to mine. Down to the agents and my other friend who used six samurai that won our own locals we made for a day ourselves. I quit the second they announced pendulums. I just got back in at the start of this year

Modern yugioh players are like the stereotypical cocky martial artist who likes to show off all of his moves in order to intermediate his opponents, only to get knocked out by one strike.

Just started playing Yu-Gi-Oh master duel today on PS4. And dueled a guy who took like an hour to finish their turn lmao i quit the match because of how much the dude activates spells, add card from their deck to their hand, special summon from their grave, add cards from their graveyard to hand, synchro summon, activate a card effect like i didn't even get to use my turn because the guy went first lol

That feeling when you know you don't have the ability to win over your opponents board and all the opponent has to do is enter battle phase and attack unimpeded but instead the opponent chooses to NOT enter the battle phase, spend 30 minuets playing card effects, THEN entering battle phase, activating ANOTHER series of card effects and resolving them before FINALLY attacking for game.
Its moments like that that make me dislike modern yugioh cards the most. The solitaire is a colossal waste and disrespect of peoples precious time living life. Time is precious and should never be squandered, sitting through yugioh players solitaire is squandering precious lifespan

This is spot on. Opponents will spend 11 minutes chaining effects,locking you out from attacking or using card effects, but the minute you play skill drain these same losers will cry about how it’s “broken” 😂

Skill Drain has been dunking on meta pricks since Legacy of Darkness - the best set in this entire game!!!

Lately this is my experience on MD, I go in to the ladder, not caring about rankin and only doing it to get some gems and fulfill the quota of the duel competency thing so I can unlock aesthetics and I can barely get through anything past silver rank because people I face are obsessed with taking as long as possible to play single turns.
Its at the point where I will litmus test my opponents by scouting the first few cards they play and ascertaining if its combo or not, and if it is combo, I just scoop on the spot and move on: skipping the experience of sitting through the combos altogether and disrespecting them by disallowing themselves the opportunity to waste my time.
Heros deck? I scoop. Labrynth? I scoop, swordsoul? I scoop, kash? I scoop. Tear? I scoop Bysteal? I scoop Amazoness? I scoop Use maxx c? I scoop because fuck you. Any and all decks that masterbate with themselves in their combos for longer than three minutes tops (not including thinking time) will find themselves rejected by me because they are not worth my time sitting through.
If it ain't fun, I won't be a masochist. I don't care enough to break their boards if I have the means to do so when I finally would have my turn because they took so damn long making the boards that I just don't wanna deal with their time slog,. It just isnt satisfying to break their boards, it just feels like a chore of being forced to watch a shitty movie and being tasked with roasting it. sure, it can be done, I could destroy their board they spent too long making and end up beating them in doing so but is it worth it? Is it worth my time? I don't get enough of a dopamine rush from it to make it matter so fuck long combos, I scoop when I smell em coming

Modern yugioh is sh*t, also the community is trash with their toxic & one turn win BS. They also forgot that in the begining yugioh tcg was inspired from Egypt, yet in modern yugioh, most of the monsters are random weebs anime characters.

@@stevengondosiswanto4732most of the initial monster line up for Yu-Gi-Oh had no Egyptian themeing. Only really cards associated with Ishizu, Marik and the like had any Egyptian characteristics.
Each generation of the anime had it's own aesthetic, look at the very cyborg esque designs of the warriors during 5Ds era for instance
I said this once to someone and I'll say again here. Konami NEEDS to implement a special summon limit on this game.
Won’t happen because Yugioh was fundamentally flawed from the Get-go. Even if Special Summoning was limited to once per turn, the game would still be broken because there are so MANY broken cards stacked on top of broken cards that alot of the slower decks that don’t need special summons would just become top tier
@@JuwanBuchanan I am FULLY aware that it is never gonna happen. It's too big a change to the game, ESPECIALLY when you consider how much the current meta loves Special Summoning. I do however believe that, even if it wouldn't balance the game completely, that it is a decent step forward. Or, at the very least, it can make the game feel less like solitary.
Everything about this game is fucking awful.
Modern Yugioh is terrible! The game was so much better when it was simpler and not so much destruction.
That's why I stick with Yugioh cards.
Honestly fuck playing on ladder. The way to go is play with your buddies using rogue decks at best.

I once beat a dude dwn to no cards in our hands or any face downs, and I kid you not. Muthafuka started pulling cards straight out the grave yard while it was still my turn
That happened to me. I Witch's Strike'd them so they had no hand and no field. They were able to summon one Fluffal Dolphin out of the grave and with that one card they got several threats onto the board and stocked their hand. I hate this game so much.

Yeah! I remember once upon a time when Yu-Gi-Oh was actually fun and competitive. When you actually have to use actual skill and tactics to when. Now it's just become Unbearable to deal with. Now it's all about Negates, Hand traps and over Hundred summonings in one turn. Looks like Konami chose GREED OVER FUN. GREED AND POLITICS RUINED THE GAME FOR ME

Over half of everyone’s decks is made of the same negates & the other half is designed by Konami. We can maybe fit 6 cards of our own ideas in modern decks. Everything else is tailored for us.
I hate swam the opponent type decks that kill the you the opponent in one turn it takes the fun out of the game, so I can see why Yugioh is losing popularity in resent times.

I don't even like playing online, so this game really wasn't for me either way. I'll stick to LotD until a new singleplayer focused one comes out (or if, I should say).

and after a year later the game even worse lol having a player count as low as figthing games showing yugioh is basiclly dying unless rush duels save it which i dont think it will this game is 100 percent unsavable untill you go back to synchros and ban a few of the gx 5d and xyz cards but current yugioh with links pendulums and more is honestly a joke 1 turn ko or you never win

Ever have someone go into a massive OTK board, enter the Battle Phase...and then just sit there wondering why their high-ATK monsters are useless while ignoring the text on your face-up Messenger of Peace? I have. I think they even scooped, but I haven't picked up Master Duel in a long while.
Just as old schoolers refuse to read the gobbledygook on new cards, zoomers refuse to go back and read what was already there.

Im pretty new to master duel, and I play pure six samurai. I think the funniest thing about this six samurai player is that if he just focused on using the actual six samurai card effects instead of trying to summon a bunch of goofy boss monsters he could have removed the nightmare wheel with Mizuho and negated the raigeki with shien.
Man it doesn't matter how caught up in modern yugioh I get, my opponent still outs me with one card and calls it skill. Like Jesus you can't even try a casual deck on ladder

I play both MD and DL and I can tell you for a certainty their both cheaper and more easier to manage than the Physical Game.

Advice that may be bad or funny: use mist body. Put it on your opponent's attack position monster. Proceed to beat it to oblivion with juggernaut Liebe as it begs for the sweet embrace of the grave.

It’s things like that which cause people to lose interest in Yugioh the swarm your opponent type decks which is very frustrating. We need more cards that counter the swarm your opponent type decks because this sort of game play is frustrating and annoying not to mention the game becomes impossible to win thus causing people to lose interest in the game, thus Konami ends up losing money.
I think a real solution is a hard cap on special summons. Limit max 3 per turn or some shit, or experimenting with this cap idea until a happy balance is struck idk. There are anti-swarm cards. Kajus, ra sphere mode, nibiru meteor etc..but they are bandaids and don't discourage eternal solitaire like a hard cap on special summons would give

Because key, landmark cards like Quasar/Blazar would go from difficult to summon to downright unplayable. On top of that many link 4/5s require a lot of summoning so limiting it would make those cards far less appealing

Goat format decks usually make a better board by setting Ring of Destruction, Sakuretsu Armor or Mirror Force.

Yugioh should have been stop after they invented fusion summon. The GX era is i think the most balanced era of yugioh.
Toss was peak yugioh. Bar none. Edison was pretty good, GX era had dark armed dragon, which was a 1200 dollar instant win card.
The most balanced era of yugioh was probably 5ds or vrains era.
The moment the game introduces mandatory 50 cards in a deck, these Solitaire BS will end alongside all those perma 1 round negate spam summon

Actually, combo decks have reached the point where they need to run 42-45 cards in order to function between hand traps and combo pieces. Some struggle to keep it even that low. So you wo0uldn't really be able to hit their consistancy very much.
