- Hurricane Chris "Off The Porch" Interview
Last week we linked with Hurricane Chris for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our sit down he talked about Shreveport, using music to stay out of the streets when he was younger, knowing Boosie when he was younger, his mother being supportive of him dropping out of school to focus on music, being a mainstream star when he was just 15 years old, buying whatever he wanted when he was 16, reveals he makes more money now than his CEO gave him for “A Bay Bay”, having multiple businesses outside of music, starting off as a battle rapper, the inspiration fo this breakthrough single “A Bay Bay”, reveals he didn’t want the record to be released, feeling pressure to follow up with another hit song, spending close to half a million for the remix, reveals how he fell out with his label, his debut label getting pushed back to continue to promote the single, his single “Halle Berry”, the label changing the name of the song, reveals why he took 4 year hiatus from releasing music, being one of the first artists in the streaming era, his thoughts on the rap game right now, writing for other artists, not being a fan of rap beef, explains that he doesn’t have any beef with Kodak Black, getting into the canines industry, starting his own label 5150 Empire, and much more!

This an interview I can watch over and over again. I pray my son grows up with half the wisdom this man has! I have a new found respect for this brotha. SALUTE! He is living proof of grandma’s prayers. That kind of wisdom only comes from above.
My name Fatima
Truuuuuuuuuu!!!
13:25 "it ain't no price for everything, you can't pay me for everything"
that statement right there is EVERYTHING one of the best quotes i've heard by someone of status from our community in a couple years
Hurricane Chris kept that shit 💯 nothing but grown man talk I love it
I'm born and raised from Shreveport, and he's speaking and telling pure truth. That's how it was back in the day.
Dude has become one of my favorite PEOPLE in rap, not necessarily one of my favorite rappers but as a person in rap he has the morals, principles, and values that I have and that I admire. I'm all ears when he speaks from now on.
He's smart like Chamillionare. The young Louisiana version.
Hurricane Chris & Rich Boy are both very underrated rappers..
I gotta keep it real bro. Rich boy is GARBAGE !!! that album sucked.
@@unbiasedtv6525 That album definitely sucked.. His mixtapes didn’t tho.
@@mjacks1115 I'ma check em out
@@unbiasedtv6525 you sound stupid ASF were you from?
That “Boy Looka Here” by rich boy was the shit
This young man is the reason I haven't given up on our young men, his son is lucky to have a father like him.
he really care what his momma and g-ma gotta say! i fw dat
A bad azz hurricane 🌀 is still one of the best duo mixtapes ever. You can tell him and Boosie put they all into it
💯💯💯💯
Loved that mixtape.
I looovvve HC 😍 I still listen to “Playas Rock” I love that song
That's da one!! I don't know why they never talk about that song... It was way better than A Bay Bay
That Playas Rock song is the shit, still banging it til this day.
Proud of Hurricane for growing up and steady making music 51/50....salute🤝💪💯💯
i respect his humility talking own these things. most wont, but the fact he will shows hes comfortable with himself and not in denial or fear about things. i respect it much
He has an open case. Everything he said was perfect none incriminating.
And influential.
I respect dis man. Da industry couldn't change him. Stay Tru homie💯
He's one of the ones that's been around since 2007 with a bay bay and still going. Legendary for sure
I’m glad I looked at this Vid! Hurricane Chris is a authentic, real, and very intelligent man! Pure star quality!! 🌟🌟💖
Man bro got knowledge... Being in the industry.. no matter, if it's music, acting, sports... You grow up alot Faster than average.. Blessings to this young man
Kolli park however u say it fucked alot of ppl
You can tell he been through alot & got something to prove. Give this man his 🌹s while he still here.
An interview that I can listen to and he speaks clearly and he's very smart
This is what I was saying in my comments on his Vlad interview, do you see the look in this man eyes, when it comes to his focus on how money works & the power moves that's about to be made , versus what he was saying, about all the money he spent when he first got on! The growth & financial literacy is powerful, & when you know how the game works, & how money is designed to be moved around, everything is possible..... Salute this guy!
It's crazy how shiesty people are. They give the music industry a bad name. Shout out to Chris for being strong enough to maintain his sanity and understanding the importance of obtaining multiple incomes.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Cane is such a well rounded guy, with tremendous talent. His performance on THE BLOCK went crazy and is STEADY doin numbers. I'm here for it; Let's Go!

Chris should do a book on how he started his businesses and provide knowledge of how one can grow from definitely enjoyed this interview we need a book hurricane Chris he's definitely dropping gems on us
I'm definitely thinking about the cannabis industry besides stocks
Continue with building your empire Chris, they fear those who they see are a threat of knowledge of self. Look forward to see your continued growth.
Omg salute to Hurricane he represented Shreveport so well luv you for that 💯🤞🏽❤️
I love that at a young age he knew what he wanted to do right away that’s amazing and he worked towards it
I’m glad I watched this. I had no clue where he went after ay bay bay but he is soooo wise. Very smart guy. Great interview.

This was one of the best interviews I've seen recently. Being from his Era, it's dope to see how the God chose to take control of his life by being his own boss. The quality of his character definitely shines through. I see parts of myself in him. Would love to meet him one day and pick his brain too.
Bruh gotta perfect background to make a comeback and he still young
You definitely kan hear the humbleness, determination, and growth of the mindset he’s at right now. That just goes to show that what’s meant for you will be keep working 💯💪🏾
