Thank you for your question: This is only a representation of the ironing process in the Bodymaker, this was used for a Front End Class. The person that made the model in SW was not a Tooling Engineer, so he would not have those details when modeling.

why is the touching point between the tool and plate is thin (a pin edge ) why don't we use a normal edge (L edge ) @engineerguy

Because that edge will form the can into it's form. Without it the can wouldn't be strong enough.
