    The difficulty spike on the last Emile stage makes thematic sense- you start the game and there are all these fun setpieces and you have a definite villain and goal in beating Von Dorf, but by the end you’re just in a seemingly-endless straight sprint dodging bombs, waiting for machine guns, digging around pixel-perfect missiles, and wondering “what is this even _for?!”_

    The song at the end is called “nurture” from Christopher Allen.
    The song alone tells you a story.. you can hear it’s about saying goodbye to someone you love, and telling them how thankful you are for everything. That hope is not lost, but you’re time is over. If I could choose one song for my funeral when My time on earth is over, it would be this song, and my last words would be:
    “I want to thank everybody who I ever met in my life, good or bad, friend of enemy.. i wouldn’t be the same without you.
    I want to apologize to all the people I’ve hurt.
    Im thankful for what’s been given and the fact I got a chance to be part of this world. ‘Hope’ is what kept me going.. And for all the people who ever lose hope... remember that you won’t see the light without darkness.”

    Dont know how or why I just remembered this game. And just went donw memory lane and rewatched the entire series you did Jack. Man. Some great memories I still remember crying over the ending with you , remeber waiting for every episode to come out. Those were the days.

    Still one of my favorite series. I'm begining to tear up again. I've watched this ending so many times. I will always be grateful for you Jack. You've been such a great friend to me, even if we've never met, and possibly never will. Thank you

    They shall not grow
    old, as we that are
    left grow old;
    Age shall not weary
    them, nor the years condemn. at the going
    down of the sun and
    in the morning we
    will remember them
    Lest we forget

    I live near Ypres, where the poem “in flanders fields” came from and there are a lot of gravesites. This one site called Tyne Cot makes me wanna cry, because i think back at moments like these. Ypres before ww1 had a beautiful and rich history, which is now tainted by war and grief and you can really see that. I will never forget their sacrifice and neither should you…
