    I struggled with this very all day today and didn’t know what the issue was until seeing you explain it now it make perfect sense. Everything else about my mechanics were spot on but wondered why my arc was inconsistent. Thank you very much!

    Great video - this makes a bunch of sense thanks!
    If I may, one point of criticism i'd like to pass along would be that the camera man should keep the shot on you for the follow through (its a video about shooting form) rather than follow the ball to the net that would be nice

    Mike, been a longtime follower of your content on IG and I've loved the recent uploads to CZcams! Keep it up!
    Would love to request a video on the guide hand elbow. Mine just happens to inadvertently stick out despite me rebuilding my shot and not having much guide hand interference (that I know of). Would love to see your wisdom.

    Great videos as always. I have a one motion shot where I feel like I’m pushing the ball so my elbow is in. But it feels repeatable cause I’m aiming.
    What are you focus on when sitting, the front of the rim or the entire rim??

  • @zhongshengzhongsheng8996

    should I pause at the setpoint or not? If I pause It would be 2 motion.

    Hey Mike! Can you talk alittle about adding more rotation on the ball? Appreciate it

    • @SeeMikeDunn
      @SeeMikeDunn  Před rokem +2

      Yes. I can make a more detailed video on this. However, rotation doesn't just happen by passing middle of hand through middle of ball - it also is impacted by direction change of the shot itself. This is why very easy for players who struggle with rotation on shot to get rotation on a pass no problem. There's zero direction change in the pass. This is where doing something such as 'shortening' the shot as seen here in this video can simultaneously (at times) better the rotation as well.

    isn't it a really bad idea to bring the ball up at the set point, pause, then shoot? you lost tons of power and its something i try to work on.

    We dont want the long shot in the midrange either right? But maybe we hold on to the ball for a little bit longer to adjust power.

    • @SeeMikeDunn
      @SeeMikeDunn  Před rokem +4

      I should be careful as to not talk in 'absolutes' -- bc depending on situation maybe we'll be forced into a 'longer' shot. However, you are spot on. We may hold onto ball a bit longer in the mid range, but that doesn't mean the line ball is moving on has to change! Good stuff.

    Am I right or wrong you are just snapping your elbow back while you flick forward

      Elbow should be eye level and facing the rim

  • @ToberYouPL

    won't that make your set point too low and easy to block?

  • @stevecarrick1957
    @stevecarrick1957 Před 6 měsíci

    Yes this guy does know what he is talking about but unfortunately the camera work is awful. In lots of the videos we don't see the full mechanics of the shot - the camera pans towards the basket to confirm the made shot at the cost of seeing any follow through etc.
    Personally I don't care if we see the made basket - I am really more concerned with observing the full mechanics. Perhaps put the camera on a tripod and place it so both player and basket are in shot. Its not rocket science! Well I guess it is in a way...
