Being from Latvia, i can actually tell you why Riga was abandoned. You see, we escentially had no army, same with Estonia, ut there were far more issues with recruitment. Because of this, the high command decided to retreat to Liepāja, our third largest city and train more men there.
Its sad that finnish volunteer troops were send to home cause every time they freed a town they would celebrate by drinking 😂
Yes I’m from Britain and our Navy significantly helped Estonia! So in that way Estonia and Britain have been allies for a 100 years now!

Your ancestors were fighting for their home, their land, their freedom, and your future. Be proud Artur, for in my opinion they did something worth being proud of.
Poor Estonia gets invaded allot
The Germans shouldn’t have been forced out of Eastern territory. The German Empire was prepared to be the protectorate of those new nations. Their presence would have prevented the Soviets from expanding Westward.
As an American I am proud to have the great Estonian fighting soldiers as our allies. Very Proud.
Finland didn't have Independence war but after Russia gave independence for Finland (in 1917) there was a civil war (in 1918)

You know the Estonians are doing good when a patriotic American, such as myself, starts chanting for Estonia.
Interesting fact
My great grandparents were in the White Army, Jacob was a doctor and Sarah was a nurse. They treated wounded Estonian soldiers! They were almost captured by the Red Army, but they escaped with the help of some Estonian soldiers. They eventually came to the USA.
Love for Estonia from the south - Poland, we also had to fight for our independence against bolsheviks.
