They were all very surprising, except for a few like halsin obviously. But gale not really caring, karlach sort of indifferent, minthara oddly ok with making deals with zealots, and yeah, it was shocking tbh.
Karlach is like a dog: she doesn't really understand what happened but trusts her master to have made the right decision. And Gale is a wizard so of course he has no moral compass to speak of.
@@MisterCynic18 ummm you had me in the first half. but even i - a not karlach fan - thinks thats pretty harsh. i do believe she trusts but i also dont think she's without understanding of right and wrong. ALSO your haterade about wizards [or gale[ isnt facts.
The most interesting is Astorian that says he will be nervous to be around someone who betrays his companions. But from their viewpoint there is little they can do. Because if they leave the party they will become a mindflayer, so they can complain but they can't do anything about it.
How dare they do that to Shadowheart. While she was too close to her peace.. I mean even picking dark justiciar is more merciful than this at least she will have the command.
Probably one of the most fucked up choices in the game. Especially if u romance her so you have that connection and you help her get past shar, just to throw her right back in
That’s straight up evil. I can’t imagine helping somebody escape abusers, just to later sell them out to that same abuse only after learning exactly what has been done to them.
Something to remember is that Shadowheart has a tadpole. As soon as you leave, she's becoming a mindflayer. Imagine if the punishment for sacrificing her was that the alliance only gave you 1 person because the rest died to mindflayer Shadowheart.
Wow, turns out Lae'zel was the one who cared about Shadowheart the most all along. Karlach, you disappoint me. I expected better from you. The fact that she ate this shit is the most surprising out of all. This is EXACTLY the thing Gortash did to her and still the best thing she has to do is say "hm, well... shit happens, I guess" and move on.
Karlach: Mmm, I guess so? Gale: It is what it is. Minthara: Mmm, makes sense I s'pose. everyone being so pissy at Gale yet just GLOSSING over minthara and karlach also being OK with it just confirms people hate this man for no reason lol
I get the sense that Gale really isn’t cool with choices like this but he doesn’t like to make waves so he just kind of goes with the flow. I imagine being with Mystra for so long probably skewed his worldview quite a bit.
based on his interactions he 's a true neutral, and hes a reflection of the player--so that tracks imo. there are a few tiems where evil acts really disgruntle him, like if u kill the tieflings. you have to actively convince him to stay@@QuinnthePrincess
@@derekeastman7771 Yeah, especially when we see her get plenty mad about romancing Mizora or making a deal with Raphael so we know she’s not shy about calling out the player for their choices 🤔
I think they made the companions react this way because they just assumed you are playing an evil character and didn't really write much about what would happen if a good character did that.
These reactions are subpar. Especially considering this is late game and everyone can at least recognize it is messed up to betray an ally - whether they actually consider her a friend or not.
I haven’t reached this far into the game yet (couldn’t resist a click when this came up in my recommended) so maybe I’m missing something but the very muted reaction from the gang doesn’t sit right with me. At least at the point I’m at, Shadowheart is pretty much universally liked by everyone in the group and even Lae’zel is starting to come around to her, and yet in this situation only Wyll and Halsin speak against you, and even then it’s a very mild telling off. Karlach and Gale’s reactions were especially surprising and disappointing, why are they so okay with Shadowheart being sold out like that?
i’m suprised this doesnt initiate combat, with you and the Sharrans against your companions. theres no way realistically theyd let this happen, ona good playthrough anyway
WTF?! You can betray Shadowheart?!!!! I’m not to this part yet, lol. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. This game lets you make some messed up choices. 😮 Thank you for doing this so those of us who can’t bear to do this can hear what everyone has to say.
idk what everyone is talking about. man i dont even LIKE karlach. but she isn't 'indifferent'. and people obviously care: wyll and jaheria are NOT pleased at all. and halsin neither, which is saying a lot bc he is NOT a fan of shar's people.
Yeah, I accidentally handed her over and was shocked at how muted the whole thing was. There should have at least been a cutscene for those in a relationship with her
People are shocked that the stuck up, two faced compainion isnt regarded that well buy other companions? She has nice moments with the player but the other companions shes just a prissy annoying princess.😂😂😂😂😂
That's exactly why I'm chosing this. SH is an overrated and annoying hypocrite, who is a bitch to everyone (she *disapproves* Wyll breaking the pact to gain his freedom and she was not with Shar at that point) but somehow gets so much support and empathy if she leaves Shar in act 2. Why would she? Both her and Astarion have the same issue: they are toxic assholes who get a pass for their actions because of "trauma" and good looks. Well, she didn't like Wyll breaking free from his abusive relationship, it's only fair that she will will experience what lack of freedom is like, if she approves it.
@@Deadpan_Snarker Reneging on the contract leads to the death of Will father, and Shadowheart doesn't like it, she would like Will to sacrifice his freedom for his father, your biased attitude towards SH prevents you from seeing the true motives of her disapproval
Aww Laezel’s reaction was sweet.
Karlach is way too chill about this having been sold out herself by somebody she trusted…

Wizards are weird like that.
It feels more passive aggressive, like he wants to go off on you but knows that it isn’t the time to do so

The response should’ve been “over my dead body”
The companions are surprisingly mostly okay with you betraying Shadowheart, like, I would never pal around with a main character after this
Some of them really just this as returning Shadowheart to where she belongs and leaving her to face the judgement she is due for her betrayal.
