As a c6 GS owner and basically a muscle/sports car owner for the last 35 years, a trickle charging battery tender is just normal. I also use a BT on my motorcycles, ATV, Side x Side, ect. Its just basically a quick 5 second plug in to be set.
I've been running Optima's for about 25 years now. I have a Supercharged '98 4 Runner Limited with a large Audio system. At now 24 years old, I'm now on just my 4th battery in all those years, and my 3rd Optima. Just put a Yellow top in the '10 c6 2 years ago.
The Antigravity Battery does have my attention now though.

I've had four batteries in my 2015 Stingray. Since they are a rolling computer there is something on at all times. The last battery I installed was a AGM from ORellys. So far so good. The fact that you can shut it down and still have power to run the computers is a plus.
This is definitely a high technology battery which almost sounds ridiculous to say lol
I have 2 C5’s and have to replace both in the last 30 days. I paid $243 for a Gold Die Hard and then $345 for an Odyssey. I keep both cars in a garage with close electric service so a tender is not that much work to connect. I run the tender about 6-8 hours on each battery every other week. Not ready to spend a grand on a battery yet but have Corvette friends who can’t seem to spend enough. Oh, the previous batteries I removed were a GM Delco and a Optima. If memory serves me both lasted about 4 years, the Optima a few months longer. Also, I only sprung for the additional $100 on the Odyssey because between changes my airplane battery bit the dust and close examination of the date showed 8 years in service…it was an Odyssey.
Very interesting and timely video for me. Last friday my C7 would not start due to dead battery. I was able to get it jumped with a NOCO Boost GB70 which allowed me to drive to dealer and have them put in a Diehard Gold for around $242 and some change. It was 3 years and 11 months since i had changed the battery on the car initially. So the anti gravity battery seems like a good deal since you only have to replace it every 10-12 in addition to the weight savings. Also the NOCO Boost i purchased was another $200 (well worth it if you are sticking with the traditional batteries) so the ability to jump start the anti gravity battery by remote was also very cool.
Exactly. Great analysis with a real life situation to back it up. I will be continuously testing this going forward to make sure it makes good on the claims but so far, it's looking good.
Interesting concept about having fobs to "kill" the battery if you will in that it's almost like an anti-theft device. The draw back I think is that you lose all your programming and not just having to re-index the windows. Corrent me if I'm wrong on that. Another great "Upgrade" video Justin. Save the Wave 🙋♂
Thanks, Peter! I lost programming just once when swapping out the battery initially but haven't lost it again so I think it maintains enough juice to stop that from happening.
That would be a plus if there is enough juice to keep the pre-sets for hopefully everything but the windows. Indexing them is easy and quick. It's the other programmed items that can be a real PITA to set up all over again.

I went to the battery website, I think you missed 1 negative comment on the battery. When battery goes into sleep mode it shuts off, you will lose all your memory setting, all radio preset stations, etc. I also found out it has a 5 warranty. By the way the price went up since the last time you were on their web page when you did the video. Love your channel and everything you do. Have a great year.

I would suggest a Ctek lithium charger during extended storage periods as normally it is also suggested to disconnect the battery from the car also during extended storage.
absolutely. A 4 to 6 month storage for winter time would be fine without the charger but anything over that you'd still want it. If you drive your car in the summer but not in the winter that's the way to do it.
My antigravity just died prematurely in my c6 zr1. About 7 months in. Let’s hope they honor their warranty

even if u buy 2 AGM (at about $280 a piece) bat which are NOT needed for this car it is still CHEAPER, if u add the trickle charger (@ about $125) its about the same price. Its a lot LESS if u buy the standard lead acid (as is recommended by OEM). I just changed my C7's battery and paid $125 at Costco (H6 Interstate Battery). Sure if someone gave me an AGM with a remote jump I would also love it but I don't think the price really justifies what u get unless u are racing and u want the weight reduction to me that would be a huge plus.
Depends on how long the corvette sits and if you have access to a trickle charger. If you don't have a trickle charger and the car sits a lot this lithium battery is a no brainer.

I didn’t notice that. I don’t see any reason why that would be. Let me look into it.
This all plays into electrical loads and demands for functionality and performance and having ample capacity reserve to draw off of. A fully featured vehicle such as the C7 would ideally have a 60Ah capacity used as we do here. When we look at "race use" we are looking more so at a vehicle that's been stripped down, no accessories, very limited electronics..so that demand for overall capacity is minimized.

What test equipment did you use to measure the cranking amps ?.. Please tell us you didnt just blindly repeat whats printed on the label.We all know corvettes only need 350 - 400 cranking amps to start anyway.
Will the 24amp battery be even lighter? I have a anti gravity battery in my 4th gen Camaro. It weighs about 4 lbs
Yes the 24ah will be lighter as well. I think they go down to 8 pounds.
How has the battery performed for you? Any downside aside from cost? I have a 5th Gen.
I'm not sure but, isn't the warranty only 5 years? If it is, it's hopeful that this will last 10 years. At this point, I'm not sure it's worth it. Just my opinion. Generally, I don't think lithium is the greatest for cold weather. Appears to be working fine for you though! Thanks for the great review.

I went to the battery website, I think you missed a con, when battery goes into sleep mode you will lose all your memory or and preset settings. I got this from their web page as a reply. “Hi Carlos, may depend on the vehicle's system a little as well as the duration..but it is possible as the battery is essentially shutting itself off you will lose settings.”

Yes sir. In fact, I may just be doing that. It actually makes MORE sense to be in the TRX.
You mention cranking amps a lot. So, where is your testing data showing the upper limit of discharge ? . what test equipment did you use ? If you didnt, please dont run around repeating whats printed on the label. Besides, 99% of all cars only need 350 - 400 cranking amps to start anyway.

For a Vette it isn't likely to be an issue but yes, once it's attempted to be started the heating process starts and will ensure no problems.

Cool technology but 4X the price of conventional battery. If id pay a premium, Id settle for an Optima.
I break down the cost in the video. at the end of the day you’re not paying much more for this than replacing your typical battery twice in the same lifespan.
