15% Great throws
35% Great adjustments by receivers
40% Normal TD passes in big moments
10% Luck (as in good fortune, Not Andrew)
They are big games that are bigger than regular games.
@@MohammadAli-tz5dx But that isn't the point of the video. The game doesn't matter. We are talking about the top 100 throws not the top 100 moments. The title fails us
100% concentrated power of will
The video didn't say "top 100 plays by quarterbacks only. It said "Top 100 throws". By my count, every one of the plays started with a Throw....
The luck plays all belong to Aaron Rodgers. The NFL's greatest chucker.
Quarterback: throws ball up for grabs into quadruple coverage, receiver makes the catch of a litetime.
NFL: Top throws of all time.
Could have as easily been called "The top 100 catches in NFL history" yup
Right?
Number 80 I just picture Jim Rome saying “Chris Everette” then Jim Everette saying”You call me Chris one more TIME And”, ......”CHRIS”!!! Absolutely hilarious,
I don’t think they are talking about decision making. I think their talking about the ball placement. There were a lot of times where the receiver was actually covered pretty well, but since the throw was so good he still caught it.
@@lucasr1666 A lot of it was just plain luck... caught on video. Yep
I'll never get over the Brett Farve one. When he was with the Vikings and hit a perfect pass to a WR in the back of the end zone
Idk how that’s not top 10
One of my favorite plays of all time
Some bad play from the defensive backs, that's what most of it is just like poor tackling when they show greatest runs
"Elway with a lot of time....and a lot of arm"..... "that's not an arm, thats a gun"......
classic
The title should be The Biggest Moments in NFL History That Involve A Throw, not the best throws
Max Miller true, but that title just wouldn’t work
Should be something else cause half these passes were routine. I’m only 3 mins in I think im gonna go ahead and save myself another 25 mins
most of the catches are better then the throws
Everybody think they know more than the next guy.
Max Miller I agree. I’m a Niners fan but the #1 throw is horseshit. The play is named after a catch. He was literally throwing it away.
It's funny that the greatest throw of all time is called "The Catch"
Because it was just as much Clark's catch as it was Montana's throw, if not more
@@MichaelWilson-er5ht That was the point
Michael Wilson any good QB can make that type of throw though... it’s called greatest throws not the most clutch throws...
Greatest moment in nfl history; to me at least
It's funny you say that. I paused it before they number 1. I'm trying think what would be number 1. I hope it's not the immaculate reception, it shouldn't be. Than it's like wait "The catch?" Seeing Montana on that play. It's a good number 1.
Eli Manning to Manningham, unbelievable throw and great catch. Super Bowl pressure!
Eli always came up big in those moments.. as a giants fan I miss that dude
The Roethlisberger to Holmes throw is as good as it gets, perfect throw and incredible catch in the most high stress situation you can imagine. This should have been #1
Thought it would’ve been Top 3! It was at least better than the throw from Bradshaw to Swann
@@zionlw11 Agreed :)
@@daliOtter 👍💯
Ryan to Jones in the SB loss should have been top 5.
100%
This should be “Top 100 catches and throws” if you ask me.
No because there are better catches but no so good throws
If that made any sense... im saying that if it was separate vids it would be different
Vibes FN it doesn’t make any sense
hmh
But they also have some that aren't good throws or catches just good plays
5:15 you'll never hear this sentence again in ur lifetime
LOL!!!
HAHAHA!!!
that's exactly what i said to myself when i heard it!
Lol
True
Hot take: The QBs get too much credit for these throws and the receivers deserve more credit for bailing out QBs for most of these passes.
@@ogpage972 Fr that shouldn’t be a top 10 throw all time
I LOVE DANNY DIVITO
Cough 😷 Tom Brady
Unless it's Aaron Rodgers. Media gives him 100% of the credit
WR's can't catch the ball if the QB doesn't throw it to them in the first place...
Big Ben throw to Holmes in the SB against cardinals should be #1🔥
That’s the best catch of all time ‼️and the best throw of all time
Sorry Eli throw to Manningham much better
@@kevinburke6055 yeah, but it wasn't a TD like ben-holmes was
That was an incredible throw.
That was an excellent throw, catch, and two feet in. Amazing, but so disappointing that it ruined the Cards 1st SB win.
5:07 I can’t believe belicheck has emotions
I no
😂
Well that was the only time Brady ever won a game in Miami
After 3 million super bowl wins you kinda get bored
2:44 Man this Cutler throw should be way higher on the list. Dude had so much pure arm talent, such a shame he never put it all together.
That throw was one of the few throws that actually made think “goddamn!”
There's a youtube video with some throws by Cutler. He was amazing; what a gun he had.
That offense could have been special with the talent that would have been around him... if only the Josh McDaniels experiment hadn't happened.
@@isadorealire5722 Im a pats fan and I felt bad about how josh mcdaniels destroyed denver. What an idiot
@@britjohnson1990 sometimes it takes a coach until their second ot third gig to get out of their own way. He's a good coach, but he just wasn't ready yet.
Of all these throws, that underhand throw by Archie Manning is gold!!!!
Manning to Manningham is about as perfectly executed a throw and catch as you could ever have. Eli threw it long and with exact precision to where only his receiver could get it, and Manningham managed to keep both feet in and haul the ball in with two defenders on him. Unreal execution on both sides of the play.
The Helmet Catch from 42 is more memorable because it was a miraculous recovery on a broken play and is more magical and luckier in that regard. But in terms of pure execution, Manning to Manningham is about as good as it gets.
The NFL is trolling the falcons putting that throw at 28
Too funny!
I'm glad I read the comments 😭😂
Lmao That was all Julio Jones making a play that ball was not that great
It could have been in any spot from 28 to 3.
The throw was dogshit, but that catch tho
My top 5 would be
5. Young to Owen's in playoffs
4. Rodgers pass couple years ago in playoffs vs cowboys
3. Roethisberger to Holmes in superbowl
2. Eli to manningham in superbowl
1. Every nathan peterman pass that actually gets completed to the right team
nah fave Viking cardinals gane is a way better throw than any of those
Jason that’s the only thing the cardinals are known for, they also finished that season 4-12
Rodgers Hail Mary vs cardinals is the best
That Rodgers Pass Sucked Once Again You Forget The Concept It Was A Great Catch By His WR Not A Good Throw
Kai ok so fitting it in that tight of a whole with all the defenders around him throwing a dart across his body 40 yards down the field isn’t impressive? Smh
That's why they say, "always respect the ones before you that paved the way". Look at the precise talent, IQ and detail in his pass! He threw it like he was shooting a jumper with one hand! Amazing! 1:59
"That's not an arm, that's a gun" classic. RIP Coach
17:35 The irony of where they ranked this throw lmaoo
Lmao

Aaron S Not irony, it’s coincidental.
“Why are we still here, just to suffer

Haven't heard that at all
Lmao..... FACTS
I remember seeing that throw Elway made rolling to his left and throwing it back to the right sideline. We just sort of stood there looking at each other shaking our heads.
26:49 That 65 yarder by Bradshaw was a damn laser.
How ironic. The number 1 throw of all time just happens to be “The Catch”
To be fair the throw was the hardest part of that play. Definitely one of the great throws we've just seen it so much at this point.
You know what’s BS? Where’s Luck’s TD throw to Hilton against the Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card 2013? That put them ahead and was down 38-10 at one point.
Christopher Pooler YES.
People have also said you could call that play The Throw too
It's funny but the late Dwight Clark used to remind Joe Montana that they don't call that play 'the throw'.
Wow did they just show Jay Cutler some love
Where?
#88. Cutler to Javon Walker.
@@vitatoko7762 2:44
tresdaddy: not a fan of JC, but that toss by cutler was a thing of beauty. unbelievable to see everything put into the throw like that and have it be 100% right on the money. right on the money, and caught right in stride. scoregasm
Cutler actually is a talented QB he just never had enough passion for the game
"I throw the ball to the best possible location. It's up to the receiver to make the catch."

How tf you gonna have a play literally named "the catch" be the greatest throw of all time lmao
@@yourabotomegalulthisgametr1770 you mean a throw to go to the Super Bowl on a fade away with 3 lineman in his face to a receiver 1 foot from the back of the end zone who was double covered. Not a good throw my ass.
Dan Whitehurst I'm talking about for being number 1 lol like top 10 yea but not number 1 there are plenty better throws especially recently
@@yourabotomegalulthisgametr1770 yeah. But most of those weren’t under massively stressful situations. The best 2 were from Montana. The catch, lol, and the throw to Taylor to win the Super Bowl against Cincinnati with 30 seconds left.
Anyone can let an amazing throw go and complete with no fear of missing due to it being in the middle of the game or with another down after if you miss. But make the throw you win and miss it you go home are in different leagues. You have to consider the context. People who don’t don’t see the greatness in the catch. The 49ers were nobody and the Cowboys were the powerhouse.
@@danwhitehurst9592 They had another down to work with so I guess that argument isn’t really valid.
I agree, that was all about the catch. For that matter, the helmet catch was all about the catch.

Nick Chilcoat lol I noticed that too😂😂😂
and relatively young looking.
Rare sighting
8:43 Super underrated throw here. Stouffer broke his nose when he collided with Warner, then got up and threw a 50-yard dime
These compilations are awesome! I'd remind younger people, these aren't just the 100 greatest throws, but also the most historic.
That Eli throw at #3 was a absolute dime bro
2nd best pass I've ever seen. And it was right in front of Bill Belichick face.
Dropped it right in a bucket! Truly elite!
Say what you want about Eli Manning, but that was a heck of a great throw into tight coverage in the biggest game of the year.
In my opinion that’s the greatest throw in nfl history no doubt
You mean two time superbowl champ Eli Manning ?
@@bvtm1272 meh
Eli is a great QB, his brother was better obviously. For people to say Eli isn’t an elite QB don’t watch football.
He is garbage
Vick to Brent Celek should be way higher than 58. I’m not even a big fan of Vick as a passing Qb, but that throw was absolutely unbelievable
Literally a top 20 given all the throws on the list.
Those were some amazingly incredible and historic plays in the history of pro football made by some truly remarkable players.. I am so glad that these events have been preserved for posterity.

@@billmalone5050 youre a bot because no human being talks like that, your mediocre vocabulary notwithstanding.
I saw Favre as a Jet throw a 30yd side arm laser to the back corner of the end zone while falling down backwards with one foot on the ground. That's probably the craziest throw I've ever seen.
Favre threw tons of crazy balls. He was a gunslinger. The game against the raiders after his father does is legendary. Mnf 300 yds and 3 TDs in the first half. Classic
I’ve seen Rodgers throw it on the run towards the sideline between double coverage to a receiver on the left sideline with running towards the left sideline perfectly crazier than the pass you said but no doubt the Fabre was an awesome quarterback
@@your3yearoldcousin54 you wanna see a crazy throw by Rodgers? Check the 2014 away bears game, he gets his legs taken out from his side at the left hash around the 35 yard line and throws it with his feet off the ground to a double covered Devante Adams near the left corner of the endzone. Unfortunately someone was holding so it came back.
@@accuserofthebrethren9240 agreed with you on that throw, absolutely absurd. Sticks out to me as the best throw ive ever seen

That throw by Cutler at 3:00 was impressive. Hit the receiver 65 yards down field running at full speed. Impressive.
Cutler's and Mcnabb's throws were the most impressive if you ask me.
Back before he turned into a lazy bastard
cutler's was a 65 yard handoff.
Impressive.
Cutler had all the talent in the world, just not the drive.
That strike by Cutler @2:46 was awesome! 65 yards in the air, and to do it with such accuracy.... That pass was dead on the money!!
Legend has it....Cutler was asleep on the sideline and did this while sleepwalking!
An amazing throw…more like 70 yards…from the defensive 35 yard line to approx 5 yards into the End Zone!
I'll always believe the Manning to Manningham throw, that's at #3 on this list, is the greatest throw of all time
Because it is lol
Def a top 3
Roethlisberger to Santonio Holmes in the Super Bowl would be my #1
It's a helluva throw - my #1. I could watch it again amd again and still wonder how he gets it in there. Props to Manninghamj though too, I bet he never caught a better ball in his career. And this was at the sharp ens of a superbowl against Bradys unbeaten Patriots. A throw and catch that good, in that context..nah - number one for me :)
Let's be honest - Joe Cool v Dallas..he just tossed it in there and hoped a made a career off of it ;-)
Same expected it to be #1
the hit on bradshaw today would’ve been like a targeting, a $70k fine, and a 2 year suspension
Exactly NFL weak now days
Manning to manningham in super bowl 46 is one of the best throws I've ever seen, probably most under rated ever in my opinion. Coming from a Pats fan
It's number 3 it's not underrated
@@NicoLaffey You're Right About That 👍
In terms of pure difficulty that pass from Vick to Celek is absolutely unreal. There really is no window to throw that into. Also the throw by Ryan to Julio is crazy. Julio gets all the attention for the catch but if you really look at where Ryan put that ball, while he was off balance, is ridiculous
I remember watching that game; Eagles, Bills game, Cunningham's 95 yard pass to Fred Barnett was unreal.
Surprised not to see any Favre MNF throws the day after he lost his father.
EXACTLY!! at least 8 of his throws from that game could have been on this list.
The game winner against SF is #20
. C.f. l
Right. How many touchdowns did he throw that game ? Wasn't it 5 ?
What about Brady’s first super bowl TD pass? What a beauty
This tells me Cunningham was one of the most underrated qb's of all time. Doesn't get the recognition he deserves
As a cowboys fan, I hated having to deal with him when the teams played, but he wasn’t consistent enough. He was capable of the spectacular but usually under delivered.
No doubt. He had many big highlights.
If not for Cunningham, there is no Mike Vick or NFL that we know today.
As a Giants fan let me just say" Oh Shut-up!"
Wrong era for Cunningham he'd be the best QB in the league today.
It’s amazing how actuate they throw some of those long bombs. Laying the ball perfectly into the receivers hands in a dead sprint.
Number 28, one of the best throw/catch combos I've ever seen. The degree of difficulty for both on the same play, in that situation, is insane
I'm on 76 and I feel like the guy who made this is an Eagles fan...
How do they not have the Steelers super bowl catch
@@MeLoNHeAd00 it’s #7

@@eig1979 and dont forget Jaws has one in there too.. lol..
i think manning’s throw is one of the most perfect throws on the big stage imo
@David Osborne Manningham throw most likely.
Yeah, it was a great throw, but Eli couldn't do it again if you gave him 100 tries.
@@blackSUAAAVE Nobody could. That is why it is the greatest. Ever seen someone put it so perfectly in a superbowl game winning drive? I don't think so, should be 1st here by quite a margin. Only Ben to Holmes comes close.
@@marinurevic-tomas8109 - Agree to disagree. Eli was more lucky than good. In no other moments in his 16 years of playing was he even CLOSE to doing that again.
If you're great, you'll have more instances of great moments. If this wasn't the case, more one hit wonder guys would have more to show than those one hits...i.e. Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, etc. Eli simply has two moments, where he threw a great pass. One of those, he just winged it to avoid a sack.
Let's just leave it what it is.
@@blackSUAAAVE You missed the subject. This is not a discussion on how good Eli was. We are talking about the greatest throws. Eli, who never had the strongest hand btw. gets the ball at his 10 after Brady almost seales the game with 3:42 remaining and down 2. It is a tight game. He snaps the ball, looks right for a moment, switches his sight to left, sees Mario, throws a 50 yard perfect spiral into double coverage on the sideline. It falls into Manninghams hands and he is tackled right after. If he mistimed it by .1 of a second it would not be a catch. That catch changes the momentum of a game, and with Giants needing a field goal it basically seals it. Against the greatest coach and qb ever. Not to mention Bill said make him go to Manningham, cover Cruz and Nicks. And to the best throw and catch to happen right in front of him, was unbeilivable. I could debate you on Elis greatness, but that is not a subject here. Give me one better throw if you can.
That Michael Vick throw from the 4 to the other 30. Looks like he didn’t even try! And Dan Marino....wow! Speechless!
Insane that Eli Manning to Manningham wasn’t #1. I’ve never seen a better throw
Because nothing is allowed to pass the classicness of the nfl's old favorite plays.
Rodgers to Janis was unreal. 40 sec left back to back 50+ yards both throws made while he was running for his life 😮😮
Derek Carr’s throw to Michael Crabtree vs the ravens in 2016 was gold!
When Eli has 2 top 5 throws in nfl history
Clutch
That’s exactly what I was thinking too.
The throw to Manningham should have been number 1.
missed a few throws matthew stafford made against the cowboys
hes the definition of clutch
#98 should be so much higher. I have no clue who it is, what teams are playing, or any backstory to the throw, but seriously, that is just amazing.
Solid list, but it should be called "top 100 pass plays", because some of them are better catches than throws
Dude that oilers one at 5:55 .... WTF! HOW HAVE I NEVER SEEN THIS PLAY LOL
I saw it a couple times from sports bloopers. Go figure.
yeah i've never seen that either.
That should probably have been higher on the list than it was, to be honest.
Best throw in history is from a play nicknamed “The Catch.” Why not nickname it “THE THROW?”
kalebpost20 it was both an amazing throw and catch but they gave this to Clark since he jumped so high in the air to CATCH it. Montana threw the ball across his body, with like three defenders about to sack him, while running, having limited vision, and throwing it to a spot where it was possible (like a tiny bullseye).
Snoop yup 15 yard throw that was a badly thrown ball = best throw ever
That’s exactly what Joe Montana jokingly said it should be called....”The Throw”
kalebpost20 because catching is harder than throwing
SloppeyJoe 6D9 can u catch a ball thrown from 65 yards away, probably, can u throw a ball with pinpoint accuracy 65 yards? I doubt it
My brain just can't accept that Eli Manning has two of the top five throws in the entire history of the NFL.
I believe that they should have included somewhere in this the throw from Brady hitting Randy Moss in stride when Moss reached out with one hand and never missed a step, it was pure precision and a thing of beauty.
Brady should've thrown to Moss often and early in that SB, they kept throwing early to Welker and Edelman Moss had broke the single season td reception record, Brady kept slightly overthrowing those short recievers which was odd because they were so effective during the season but Moss was boss all year
2:47 damn Cutler had a huge arm

Devin James I remember that, I’m a Saints fan and I was cracking up when I saw that live 😂
Man, I love seeing footage from the 40s and 50s, some real icons of the game

THE greatest throw of all time is that late throw in the Superbowl from Eli to Manningham on the sideline.
I agree what a great throw under pressure the biggest game of his life and beat Brady
You mean
Receivers making the quarterback look good
Cheessus 13 exactly
Thats exactly what this is
Except it's not.
Receivers were getting the ball right where it needed to be from the QB
I feel like a lot of great throws are also throws that make the receiver work a lot to get it because that ball can't be deflected or intercepted
25% percent of this was throws and not gonna lie the other 75% was the receivers adjustments
Isaac Seattle All off the plays were throws not just 25%. And without the throw there would have never been a catch.
Well the idea is the QB throws the ball in a spot where he knows his receiver will be able to adjust and catch it.
Sometimes, it's exactly that. Sometimes it's luck.
Sometimes it's pure skill by the receiver.
Hard to tell sometimes.
@Issac Seattle: Can you please breakdown the 25% & 75% for us ? 🧐
Great plays indeed... I recall a few great plays by Bert Jones that I believe should have been included
So well done. The music accompanies the action, it is played in the background to enhance the action, the moment of the play, with the voices of the excited announcers and the roar of the crowd. It's not like so many of these vids where the person making the video tries to make the music create the moment. Instead they allow the moment to be what is exciting, making us wish we were there celebrating with everyone. I wish my thumbs were bigger because this gets an absolute thumbs up.
Damn I'm old. I watched this and remember seeing at least 55-60 of these live. The best part is seeing some great QB's play the game.
Note after the 2019-20 season and playoffs, the top 100 needs a little update, Mahomes is for real.
Yeah, if Mahomes can stay healthy, then when they remake this list at the end of his career, he may own it.
week 1 last season, nick foles threw a td that should have been in the top 5
The pass from Wilson to Lockett should be in the top 25 all time in my opinion
Wentz’s TD to Sanders in week 15 against the redskins in 2019-20 should be top 20 at least
Manning throw to Manningham on the sideline was number 1.

i have a high school football game later today, and i’ve never been so hyped to play before.
You know, Mike Vick was always noted almost primarily for his scrambling abilities, but boy could he throw a football! That dude had a cannon, and was a lot more accurate of a passer than he was given credit for.. There have been a lot of imitators since, but NEVER another as well-rounded as he was.
Lamar is already a better runner than vick ever was
Vick was worse at throwing on the Falcons until later in his career, but he became a great passer on the Eagles.
@@tootsiemuah3572 - That's not really a fair comparison. Offenses are designed today for QBs to run the football. Back when he played, especially during his time with Atlanta, most of his runs were improvised on the spot.. @@robertwebster362 I have had the pleasure of having lived during the "passing" era of football and enjoyed watching historical legends play the QB position live. Saw Sonny, Marino, Namath, Moon, Bledsoe, show the world what a quick release looks like. Watched physical beasts like Elway, Favre, Cunningham, Bradshaw, power the football down the field. Admired the amazing field generals, Staubach, Starr, Unitas, Van Broklin, Montana, Brody, Breese. Always amazed at the slickfoot guys, Tarkington, Wilson, Vick,. Having mentioned all this, I would find it a disservice to disparage someone because they made too many appearances. Perhaps it's because that person keeps making incredible throws every game. I have never seen a QB in my life possess the quickest release, the most accurate throws with the tightest spirals consistently, and often under duress in an awkward position as I have witnessed with Aaron Rodgers. I simply have not witnessed
a QB that is any more remarkable than he.
I said that too, and Im not an Oilers fan
My fav is Elway all the way to his left then throws all the way back downfield to the right. Who can do that? Perhaps the most powerful arm the NFL has ever seen.

It takes incredible arm strength as well as the ability to not lose one’s mechanics as it’s coming off a scramble.

And were goin to commercial break
She was cuter!
@@derder517 Still is.
Coming from a Chiefs fan - I watched the whole thing and it would be hard to say that any of the throws were as impressive as Elway to Sharpe. Insane arm strength and placed perfectly.
As a Raiders fan I agree
Awesome Job NFL Throwback 🏈👍
Cutler’s throw at number 88 is genuinely about as good as it gets
2019- "oh, wait he didn't have control."
LOL, you are so right. How many of these wouldn't be considered catches today.?.?
Of course a lot of them wouldn't have to be catches because there would have been penalty flags for pass interference. The league has turned to crap.
I totally agree with this list, but I'm legitimately surprised that the Brady to Moss one handed catch vs. the Jets wasn't on it.
Nope missed the tebow throw to thomas
Entirely missed Stanford and Calvin Johnson altogether
Both of those are great throws as well.
@@bunnell6335 exactly, not stafford dislocating shoulder
not calvin over 4 dudes, no calvin over 4 dudes then running 60yrd td
MyTopSpinner That was a good throw, but the play was all Thomas
The performance of Don Meredith in many games deserves a mention here. He won games with broken ribs, collapsed lung, broken nose.
Meredith to Hayes... many great connections for touchdowns.
Exactly how many imma have to Google Meredith to Bullet Bob for tds
I miss my boy John Elway. It was a heck of a lot of fun watching him do some amazing shit every week. Oh well....
I feel you. Football for me has never been the same since Peyton retired. Actually when he was cut...
He was the best!
@@indy_go_blue6048 Same for Broncos fans lol
"The McNabb Scramble" at Cowboys stadium should be ranked way higher than #65, that was awesome!
If Rodgers did it I guarantee u that's top20
It was Texas Stadium. 😜🤣
@@ixoyedeg Forgot about that your right, is Texas Stadium the old Cotton Bowl?
Cuse #44, they played at the Cotton Bowl from 1960-71, Texas Stadium from 1971-2008, and Cowboys/AT&T Stadium 2009-present.
@@ixoyedeg Thanks David, I always thought that Jimmy Jones just fixed up the old one but Cowboy Stadium is new and not the same place, stay healthy.
Take away the moments, the games, and the position they’re in, and the best pure pass I have ever seen was Russell Wilson to Tyler Lockett against the Chiefs in 2018. Look it up, could not be thrown any better. Absolutely perfect with perfect coverage on him as well. Didn’t make this list though
Was expecting more Russ all I got was a heave out of a sack and heartbreak (Packers fan)
Such great throws and catches
Big Ben to Holmes is the best one in my book that camera angle is godly
