The Most Unsettling, Creepy TV and Film Logos Of All Time

- Hideous, loud, unsettling, spooky, or just bad. These may have scared you as a kid after TV shows, or before movies. This is a compilation of logos that just aren't quite right. This video is basically just me futzing around with iMovie, so don't expect quality. I obviously do not claim to own anything here.
Thanks to JohnnyL80, MachineryNoise, and DudeThatLogo for many of the captures used. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
If you watch these with the sound off, they aren't creepy at all. In nearly every case, it's the damned music, which ALWAYS sounds threatening and aggressive.
Except for the Rainbow one, which has no sound and is still fucking terrifying

API (not included here) is scary because of the evil propellers and the weird music, in fact the imagery is actually scarier.
We had a weird idea of what scared us as kids.
But why tho?
It's been found that there is some occultic influence in some logos, not all, SOME,so maybe you were scared for a reason...
agreed.its just like if u see somethin on tv you get this tingling sensation in your head and spine.idk why.
I'm 26 and this shit is still scary
@@bunearybusiness9402 gonna need a sauce for that claim
Why these were so creepy was that they played after the closing credits, and so one of them tended to be the last thing we saw and heard before our parents turned the TV off for the night. Then I would wake up in the middle of the night with one of the logos playing over and over in my head, and I would imagine words or symbols suddenly appearing in the middle of the room, with nobody to help me.
I had similar nightmares as a kid thinking they'd somehow haunt me!
Micheal Hayes, I've had that same theory myself, as to why we find certain logos to be creepy or scary. I know the ones that made me nearly piss myself, growing up! It just may have something to do with seeing these before bedtime.
Sameee
You’re not alone. I have a very similar story to tell myself. I used to watch compilations like these throughout my childhood, so I’ve always deemed certain logos “scary” and whatnot. Therefore, I developed a fear of black screens, especially TVs that were turned off, since most of these logos were set on black backgrounds. I remember one night before bed when I was 8, my dad called me into the living room to “come look at the black screen.” I was terrified, and I found myself unable to do it, despite the mild lighting and my dad being in the room with me. For years, I always slept with a night light, or I covered my screens with blankets. Once, I was so petrified of the blackness around me that I tried to keep my eyes open as I slept! Now, I sleep with light jazz music playing on my phone, but completely in the dark.
@@jerricherribomb When I was younger I used my hands to cover the microwave and TV screens whenever I walked over to mom's room at night.
It's creepy trying to imagine these weird lonely abstract dimensions inhabited only by autonomously moving shapes and disembodied living music
I think you nailed it
And in said dimension,THX would be the king

And the unearthly synthesizers they employed..."

True!😫
I don't know why I didn't see that before. Good catch!
*DICK!*
When I was a kid and I saw that for the first time I seriously thought it said DIE. I was scared that the tv show it telling me to die
it's like the people who make these intend for them to be creepy
Roberto probably some sick fucks who made them, I mean come on, look at that OECA logo..it's evil
It's the use of synthesizers before synths were used in mainstream music, i.e. before people figured out how to make them sound not demonic lol. Prior to the 80s, only serious music nerds wrote on synths.
It's the master plan
They do
I think they were trying to make them futuristic but they just sounded threatening
something about disembodied artificial shapes floating in space juxtaposed with these loud, jarring synth stingers is just creepy as all get out. I feel the same way about the old BBC Protect and Survive videos, though at least those had CONTEXT that could kind of explain the creep factor.
i remember a lot of these from my childhood, but never thought i was particularly affected by them...and then a few months back, i had to stream some old 70s shows for my History of TV class. i don't know what it was, but the Worldvision logo zooming out at me gave me the sudden urge to hide under the covers.
also, the SFM logo can go eff itself.
Omg fuck Protect and Survive. I recently discovered them omg

I swear I'll have a nightmare tonight about logos chasing me with knives. Thanks a lot.

@@blaisehrncir-vanmetre9157 how is target scary
I had a dream when I was 7 about Rankin Bass logo chasing me down a dark Hall to an end where there was no way out and I picked up a rock an threw it at the logo and broke the screen
i had a dream where the 3g home video logo chased me down a very dark hallway then there was no way out so i found a brick then threw it at the logo i picked up more bricks after that the logo has vanished into fog so i looked behind me the films Incorporated logo was there then he found an extra brick then threw it at me it was a very bad dream
Now every time I see the interglobal home video logo,
It looks like the earth is moving fast with the scary music and with all the people on earth falling in the sky, and the filmstrip is around the sky.
I have this weird thing where I can't watch logos at the end of movies. The beginning is perfectly fine-- I've been obsessed with logos since I was little, so I get really hyped about them at the beginning-- but for some reason it just feels wrong to watch them at the end. Same with post-credits scenes; they just feel really cursed for some reason, like you're watching the movie cling to life as it dies or something. That's really melodramatic but it's the only way I know how to describe the feeling. Just thought I'd share this here lol

I'm too young to have encountered these logos but I know exactly the kind of fear these evoke. Imagine the lights are off, your parents have either fallen asleep or gone off to bed, and you're left alone with the television playing. Add a dark doorway or hallway near and you have pure, primal terror. And there's literally nothing you can do about it as the logo plays. Truly horrific.
That is strangely specific! lmao and accurate af. As a kid I feared stuff like this more than, you know, being kidnapped or the usual things like horror films & monsters.
these logos make me homesick moving is the worst ever i miss my old home 😭💔
Especially that “Bedford Falls” logo..
@@MsNooneinparticular I massively agree! My older brother is a massive horror nut (currently working at Spirit Halloween) and when we were kids in the early 2010s, one of his favorite past-times was browsing the internet and looking at creepypasta content. Bar the heavily edited version of the Smile Dog image, and the images that were associated with the SpongeBob bootleg and Plankton Got Served stories, none of it really scared me as much as I just found it fascinating. But The Dawn is Your Enemy, PFFR Productions, and Timpson Film's *extremely* graphic and disgusting 3rd logo were way out of my league, and as a result I wouldn't even touch those ones.

0:20 Regal Films is one of the major film production companies here in the Philippines. That logo was used during the 80s. Guess what they specialize in..... Yup, horror, fantasy and musicals.
The 8:13 one is View Askew Productions, the makers of the Jay and Silent Bob films. The logo is as bizarre as a logo could get, and the films are also bizarre.
The 5:05 one is ITC Entertainment, and I believe *that* production company made the “Prisoner” television series with Patrick McGoohan as Number 6 because I distinctly remember that closing logo at the end of every episode of that series that I saw. ITC Entertainment is a British company that has made many other well known sci-fi programs and cult television series such as Danger Man (also starring Patrick McGoohan), Thunderbirds, and Space:1999.

It’s weird that I’m searching for logos that scared me as a kid. Maybe I’m just curious and wanting to find out why I was so afraid. I remember this one that would come on at the end of a TLC show about pregnancy and birth. Upbeat music was playing and the logo was a black void with something white in the middle I didn’t remember what. There was the Moon rising on the side but while that was going on a baby cried. Then the TLC logo came on. I finally found it. The show was called A Baby Story and the logo was for Pie Town Productions. It didn’t look exactly as I remembered it. The “Moon” was a pie, the thing in the middle was a town and there was red letters saying Pie Town Productions but as soon as I heard that familiar crying which sounded just like I remembered it I felt a wave of nostalgia, relief as I found the name of the logo..... and dread. This weird dread. I’ve been feeling like this all day. I’m not one to suspect it’s a supernatural thing of course but I am still creeped out. I keep watching it to figure out why. Anyone know?
Here’s a clip of it if anyone is curious. But if you’ve had a bad history with logos like this then be careful. czcams.com/video/tSrK66lQzxU/video.html
Wow. WOW, what a specific memory. My mom used to watch this show every day, and I totally remember this logo now. I don’t remember being all that scared of it, though, and I think part of the reason is that the baby is crying in key with the music, so it wasn’t all that bad.
That was the Pie Productions logo. I know since I watched A Baby Story a lot during my teenage years.
Whew, thanks for the warning! That was intense. I had to see it again, but since you properly prepared us for it, I was ready.
Pie town is much less scarier now.
1:44 I think whoever made this logo needs to insert another coin.
i love how this all wouldve terrified me as a kid but i lurk through this kinda content just for the soundtracks to sample or try and replicate......younger me would see me as a little too crazy
I swear to god, I’m now gonna be chased by scary logos in a dark alley with knife’s, axe’s, and chainsaw’s! Thanks a lot, you scary logo CZcamsr!
(I like your channel and videos, BTW).
Gonna be honest, I feel like this is some psychological phenomenon that it isn't really the logo itself (though the sounds play a part), but rather the fact that the VHS tape is through playing, you have a feeling of eerie loneliness. You favorite characters in media are no longer on screen to keep you company followed by an unsettling and unfamiliar sound effect with a sense of silence afterwards in a giant empty bedroom or living room (depending on where your VHS player was located) with no other souls around. You wonder what's there left? No one.
Or I could just be talking out of my ass, IDK
WATCH YOUR MOUTH! 😠😡🤬
GOOD GOOGA-MOOGA! 😠😡🤬
DANG! 😠😡🤬

Glad to see that I wasn't the only one, who was creeped out by the Rankin Bass productions logo, growing up!! I loved watching Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, etc., but I was always creeped out, after the end credits, due to that damn logo, lol. Now, it doesn't bother me, & I love it!
same thing
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was creeped by these as a kid!
Same
0:44 AAAAH IT'S P-HEAD!!!
The logo calm me down and after the logo that scared me and now shaking help me help me

sick isn't it! it's always been in our faces.
Wow, finally someone included the Bedford falls company logo cause the rest have not included this one. This got to me as a kid cause my mom use to watch “30 something”
Yesss! For me it was at the end of My So Called Life, weirded me out. Taking such a beautiful movie and distilling it in such an eerie way.
How can you be scared of this? It's amazing! Every logo has awesome synth music!
I agree! They are only mildly unsettling to me now, mostly cool hahaha. More artists should sample some of these.
The Viacom one unsettled me even as a kid idk why
@@gator9339 The "V of Doom" is going to FLY out of that screen at you! LOL!
@@MidnightBanshi I used to think it was gonna smack me in the face as a kid
LOL, SO CREEPY! There are some terrifying ones here. A lot of them make you feel like the world's about to end and you're going to die. I think the overall winner here has to be 3:03 - UTTERLY CHILLING! (Also take a look at the 1986 Video Gems ident.)
IKR and it's just sitting there for like 20 seconds

Sorry for terrible joke.
Man, the logos with disembodied voices are always super creepy. That's what made the UBU Productions logo, scary for me, as a child.
I liked that one *sit ubu sit, good dog*
*dog barks*
The paramount closet killer stinger was an act of terror. I used to love the ITC productions logo because that meant Muppet Show time.
Muppet Show and Space 1999!
My mom💀
This is pretty right on the money. I remember many of these things simultaneously nauseating me and terrifying me. One or the other. Maybe I'm weird. 🤔
The BBC logo is my personal favorite "scary" logo. The music sounds like the theme of a Law and Order-type crime drama.
1:50 LUMPY TOUCH
THATS where he got that audio from
that Paramont logo used to scare me for real when I was little O_O.. it was all quiet at the end of the show and then BAMM!!
The THX one always drove me out of my mind as a kid. And that clown one was very unsettling.
Some of the logos we've seen was creepy but nostalgic.

I really like the PBS logo at 0:43. The little jingle at the end is cute :)
When we all grew up on Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, & The Electric Company.
BP, Hikon, and WGBH are terrifying. I find the Screen Gems one just makes me smile. .
