Bus Camping On Logging Roads

- Well, we got the school bus set up fairly decently and headed out to the woods down some back roads for some camping. We saw some bear evidence, and plenty of rams. It was an adventure, we just filmed what we saw and didn't really have a plan for the video.
Cheers everyone! There should be a stealth coming next week.

"This area is saturated with cougars and grizzlies"
Sounds like my local watering hole on a Saturday night...
Please may I join you?
Here kitty, kitty, kitty.
I drink out of holes.
Frkin go home with what you think is a Cougar and wake up with a Grizzly.
@@timjones8210 Or a gristleey
"Step 1" might be a good name for the bus, since it is already set up when you get there so you can enjoy a step 2.
My thoughts exactly: the Bus replaces the tent and all that goes with setting camp. thus Step 1
Step 2 should stay Step 2 ;)
came here to say this
S1 for short.
He should call it “ the cool bus “

Yeah. Better idea. Send the wife, lmao. 🤪🤩🤪
Closer to the beer good thinking
My Dad had a 66 passenger school bus that he converted to a camper. It had everything. It wasn't fancy but it was nice. He installed a cook stove with an oven, on demand hot water heater, sink and cabinets. It had a bunk bed on each side and a stacked bunk bed crossways in the rear. It also had a chemical toilet inside a stall. We deer hunted in that bus for years. He's dead now and I sure do miss him and the times we had in that bus.
I really, really enjoy the little "artsy" shots like stepping out the bus doors and into the wilderness. The effort doesn't go unnoticed!
Agreed!
....and the throwing gear out of bus into the wilderness
Are you being sarcastic
Hmm hadn’t noticed…
I also agree - I wonder if he is a film maker in a parallel universe
Steve is a shining example to us all of what happens when you do the crazy shit you dream of.
So True
... but in a normal affordable and non-flashy way ... 😀
Because of the way the Grizzlys' claws extend from their paws, rather than retracting, as with the black bear, Grizz tend to leave an impression of their claws out in front of their tracks, whereas black bears leave relatively plain paw prints with little claw evidence, as you found. Those paw prints would actually be more likely from a large black bear. We have both here in Wyoming, so it's important to distinguish them when found. God bless you and yours, and stay safe!
Cool, thanks for sharing! I love learning random things from comments.
I've seen tracks from both with and without claw impressions, but the "flat" arrangement of the toes and minimal space between them definitely looked more grizzly-like to me.
I think it was Paddington Bear... he was hunting for marmalade!
Looked more panda bear like. I think it was a panda most likely.
@@iFNhU agreed
Nice to see Steve sleeping in because of the rain, rather than hastily tearing down a stealth camp . Thanks for the relaxing video experience.
I for one like the bus camping videos.
Would be very cool to camp with Steve! When I lost my daughter in late 2019 I found solace with Steve, his brats, Step Two and mostly his optimism!
Sorry for your loss
@@JC-tn8zh I’m so sorry for your loss honey. I have 2 daughters and I can’t imagine losing one of them . They are 44 and 41 now. Love from Australia 🇦🇺.
I’m also sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. 🙏
Yeah, he's welcome to visit the UK
😢
Camping with Steve.. More like having a few step 2s with the Hunker Down Legend!💯💪🔥👌
That reuben look'd great
Shout out to "Beautiful Wife!" She is humble, patient, a teacher (thanks!), brilliant for not wanting to be on such a popular CZcams channel (I'd be hiding behind a tire every time the camera was on), and added some love to the bus! Looks SO lovely at night. I am sure that it is cozy and comfortable inside. Truly one of the coolest homes on wheels. Happy you both get to enjoy adventures together, in safety and comfort... and I bet you are, too, Steve. Still camping. Just, better...! ❤️
seriously he doesnt know just how lucky he is to have a wife that not only supports your hobbies but participates in them too?? crazy man where do i get one of those? lol 👍
May she rest in Rest In Peace.
@Logical Tom the heck is wrong with you. Not everyone wants to be on camera some people value their privacy no matter how small it is.
@Logical Tom man, I think you need help.
This comment aged well.
That’s it. I want a bus. Thanks for sharing such beautiful scenery and wildlife!
"Dry Haven ... we'll see about that" *sips beer*
LEGEND
"It's too hot to touch, so I'm going to take a bite."
You're a legend Steve.
In an earlier video, someone mentioned naming the bus the “Hunker Bunker “ I thought that was a pretty cool name.
It would be pretty cool to see him pull up with the who cranked
Hunk Bunk
When I saw the bus I think of Into the Wild.
I just said “Hunker Bunker or Hunker Buser” in my head so looked at the comments. Hahahahaha. Nice
The magic words of the week ‘welcome to camping with Steve’
Also was hoping for a "im here to pick up the kids" when you opened the bus door to those rams. But it was made up for by the triple hit of that killer dry haven joke.
Your shots are getting more and more photogenic. Looks good!
Steve is the best and I’m so glad I found his channel a few years ago. Truly blessed to have someone to look to for good genuine content. He’s the best!!
"Got our own little creek" (points to rushing white water.)
Canada seems like it's full of pleasant people and grizzly bears.
Don't forget the pissed off geese
😂😂😂 I noticed that straight away lmao

@@andreasidlar7942 Oh we've imported wayyyyyy too many of Canada's pissed off geese down here in the states. In the spring I can't mow my lawn without the patriarch of our resident mated couple busting out of the brush and scaring the absolute shit out of me

Bus name suggestion: “The Step One” since you just need to pull up to the campsite and throw out a chair or two.
You just made my day!
Perfect.
First thing that popped into my mind! Didn't have to scroll long to find it.
Perfect name, Steve better pick it.
Yes! Step One is a great name for the bus, cause all that’s left is Step Two!
Enjoyed this video, great scenery. That bus looks to be a great camper, good room to continuously update and mod the interior. Thanks for taking us along!
“Ham and Pineapple” in the USA we call that a Hawaiian: Pineapple and Canadian Bacon.
And it is true proof that God really loves us!

The campground is completely set up now

I miss camping.
He does waste time with that chair business doesn't he?
That's why the bus is so cool.
lmao
Just had a stressful day moving house, this is exactly what I need just now. Thanks Steve 🙂🙂
Drink a six pack. . .
My grandfather passed away yesterday morning, and we've been moving stuff out of his apartment all day today as well.
I agree, we needed great content like this, and perhaps a step 2 to go along with it!
I move people for a living its stressful for us too lol

No doubt, moving is time sensitive, plus you have to be careful with other people's possessions! I get it ✌️
"There should be a stealth coming next week" stealth camping in 41C(106F) heat ought to be an interesting Video
haha, I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll find a way.
Love the bus!! Happy to see you and your bride warm and cozy.
when i first seen that you got a school bus i was like "this guy wasted his money" then after watching this video i understand, its a amazing machine, keeps you safe from bears, & its pretty much an RV but with a higher suspension, the part when you wake up in morning to the rain was just beautiful, would be nice if you did some fishing in that river, probably packed with trout, those omega 3 fish oils work wonders in healing the liver from drinking
School buses are much better build quality than an RV too. Less likely to fall to pieces on roads like that.
Steve! I just got my new Hunker Down hoodie and I love it. I’ll send in a picture eventually!
The wheels on the bus go "hunker down" 😃
Here from the dope as usual podcast with goblin 🔥
I got so tickled when you called the stairs "homemade-looking". LOL
Yeah, the stuff he makes at home must be incredible
This guy is the best!!! He’s a friendly guy, doing what he loves, and sharing his positive experiences with us. Keep making great videos Steve. ⛰ ⛺️
Hi Steve, good one. I have been watching you since the first started on You tube. I have lost my job and on the verge of losing my home we raised our children in, I can relate to what you went thru and trying to figure how to get thru this tough time.
Step 2's and a good crazy neighbor if possible
I hope you are doing okay 10 months later Donna
What a channel.
Always cheers me up.
Thanks, Steve!
Another great video. I love camping and can’t wait to get away from all my normality here in my central Indiana suburban whatever I’m in. Love the channel Steve, Beautiful wife, crazy neighbor, and Forresty guy. Thanks to all!!
The 'Camping With Steve' bus shall be forever known as...
The Hunker Bunker!!
Hunker Buss or Bunker Huss. (Sounds German).
The Hunker Bunker is the best name.

"And a beer fits in here too... in case you were curious" OMG... I just spat my drink at the laptop I laughed so hard. Steve you are the coolest guy ever! I salute you with a frosty one Sir.
You should name your bus "bus lightyear"! To infinity and beyond!
good one
Love the mix of adventure videos like this! They are really nice complement to your other odd camping ones and are well made. For those of us in Ontario, the shots of Alberta never gets old
14:15 man that takes me back to my childhood. Getting out on the lake before the sun came up. Fishing all day. Thanks for the memory recall there steve!
"Welcome to Camping With Steve"..... Ah, the small yet invaluable joys in life!! Best and most honest show I ever found here on CZcams!
Forestry Forest, what a great surprise ending!!! I watch you, every edition without fail. 😍😍
Yeah, pretty sketchy looking structure leading to the waterfall lookout, no judgement on you passing on the stairs and mad respect to beautiful wife for braving it !
What Amazing mountains in the background. Nothing more relaxing than a listening to a river with a step 2 ❤❤❤❤
I can’t focus on anything other than that loose tag on your beanie, Steve lol
It's called a toque (took)
Haha! Beanie
It’s been like that for months and months! 🤣
Have a couple more step 2s and you’ll forget about it.
It looks sloppy and dumb, just like Steve Wallis.
That place is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing those shots!
Good time thanks for bringing us along
Where does Beautiful Wife sit while you're driving down the road? Those buses can be a pretty bumpy ride...I picture her holding on for dear life back there...lol. Thanks for another great adventure!
I’d like to throw the name “the hunker bunker” into the hat.

Alrighty! Always good to see FF! Great bus and beautiful area!

Thanks for showing the air fryer I'm on the fence about getting one but now I'm more informed about them!
Love 💕 😘 my air fryer
I have never been much of a gadget person but I was gifted an air fryer. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
It's just not camping without a fire. Glad you were able to have one, Steve! That's my favorite part of camping. The smell of the wood burning, coffee brewing and whatever you're cooking over it. Bacon and eggs are my favorite
How about "Stevie Wander" for the bus Steve?! 🍻😆
The bus has come along so well Steve! I love the idea buddy.
Thank you for allowing us to see your lovely wilderness areas up there in the far NORTH.
Ham and Pineapple... clearly you are a man of refined taste.
He's earned more of my respect for that
Pretty sure Canadians invented that deliciousness, too. Ham and Pineapple forever.
Need to paint the second step on the bus something special…. Step 2
Even better if you could somehow convert it into a ice chest cooler
That's a great idea, maybe have igloo or yeti sponsor it...hahaa
Beautiful scenery, camping by the stream.....I so miss BC and Alberta, the best camping in the world..the Big Horn, the stream and hills brought back so many memories of my camping days, I pulled out my photos after your vlog that I have not seen for years and got all teary eyed....this is a great trip, beware of the bears.
Gotta love the Alexander Keith's ... "Imported from Nova Scotia!" and definitely grizzly tracks! ROCK ON, Steve!
Just wanna say thank you! It’s a clean fun show my son and I have come to bond watching it together in the shop. Wasn’t planned but I’m thankful for it 👍🏻
Kinda getting "Into The Wild" vibes with the bus in that setting!!
Yes I see what you mean let's watch Steve starve Live on CZcams
I think some of the haters are upset because he’s on the bus again. Just throw a little pop up next to it to confuse the grizzlies and the hard to please.
Steve you deserve everything you’ve gained from this.
Wow I love that rapids..so clear and clean!!
You guys need some ebikes to use when you want to leave the magic bus on the site without giving it up.
I'm guessing the cell service was probably farther than an E-Bike can go. I am headed there next week, and my friends out there right now had to pin a GPS location 30 miles away from our camp that we can get signal. Needless to say, I have ordered a Spot Messenger.
Your videos showcase some of the most beautiful scenery! Another great one, Steve!

For me this was a really enjoyable video - the scenery was was just beautiful and the swift running river was so enjoyable to watch. I enjoyed another update on the interior of the bus. You are really getting it fixed up. This may be my favorite video.

Your comments at the falls had me just about fall over in my chair laughing on the floor nice one Steve! And thank you beautiful wife for taking care of it!

That bus reminds me of Chris McCandless (Into The Wild) in a nice safe ending kind of way ❤️🇬🇧
Don't worry Steve, Bigfoot lives in that area and does a good job at scaring the wildlife away. Just hunker down for the night and enjoy the ride.
You can look this up... The documentary "Discovering Bigfoot" was mostly filmed in Nordeg (where Steve is Hunkering down). You are correct Squachs are up there protecting our boy Steve!
