Time for a Yosemite Sam compilation. There's some duplicate material in here from some of my other compilations, but much of this is stuff I haven't used yet.

Sam calls that fish a “Sharp-Toothed Salmon”, “Shovel-Nosed Mackerel”, “No Good Bushwhacking Barracuda”, “Dang ol’ Fin Flappin’ Flounder”, “Hammer-Head Halibut” and a “Shark-Livered Varmint”. No wonder the fish hates him.

4:36 That sympathetic tone in Bug’s voice when be says, “Here lions!” Shows how much compassion he had for those lions ( particularly when he threw those tools down for them to use), and also at the same time highlighting the fact once again that he really doesn’t give a stuff about Sam, whatsoever!! 😁👍
That is just so funny if those lions know how to use tools why aren’t they doing a successful carpentry business? Can you imagine that lions owning a successful carpentry business. That would be pretty cool and actually kind of funny. It would be a roaring success. Sorry I had to get that one out.

Love the fact Yosemite Sam has five different fish names for that shark. Fin-Flappin' Flounder, Bushwhackin' Barracuda, Shark-toothed Salmon and Shovel-nosed Mackeral.
Yosemite Sam was far and a way my favorite Looney Tunes character, followed by Foghorn Leghorn. Those were the days back in the 60's, sitting in front of the TV on a Saturday morning watch WB cartoons all morning.
I love how Sam's voice changes when he's beating the lion with a stick, yelling at it to shut up, but soon realizes that his goose is cooked when Bugs opens the cage door, releasing the lion thus allowing it to chase Sam.
I cried laughing watching this...nice reminder of what real cartoon comedy was. The sound effects, the voice acting (one man wonder Mel Blanc). I'm still cryin' from laughing a little bit. Nice content sir.
I am over 50 years old. To this day I will still watch and enjoy these cartoon characters across my television screen. Classic, very humorous, very fun
Yeah, you are right about Bugs Bunny; I thought Yosemite Sam was evil, but Bugs is a savage!!! He calmly opens doors, cages, bullpens, pits and poor Sam just get himself mauled or thrashed by lions, sharks, and crocodiles!!!😂
There is nothing out there now, nor will there ever be, anything as funny as Warner Bros. cartoons. Those who created these masterpieces were absolute geniuses. Could you even imagine sitting around the studio and bouncing ideas off of each other?
On top of all that, he (usually) had the Jack Benny show on Sunday night to do, so Mrs. Blanc told the kids (his son Noel confirmed this) not to disturb Dad while he recovered his voice.
The expressions Yosemite Sam made once the tables were turned only added to, and complemented the comedic effect. Plus, the accompanying and changing MUSIC- It ALL was Great!
When he’s trying to run away on stilts it just kills me!!! Not to mention when he calls the shark a hammered headed halibut! I don’t care how old I get these will always be tops in entertainment. Thank you.
Yosemite Sam seems to always have an identity crisis where he's either a pirate a cowboy a roman legionare a knight or a spaceman or a viking just to name a few it's as if he's suffering from multiple personality disorder.
I looked in the mirror and I'm 56 now. Life was so much simpler way back watching these classic cartoons. It's a great feeling to me that I still really enjoy watching them. The only thing the internet is good for
This also happened to Sam at the end of "Hare Lift" (1952), where he jumped out of the crashing jet plane laughing his ass off until he realises that he's landing in the police car which was previously after him due to his previously attempted bank robbery at the beginning 😂😂😂😂
Everyone knows about Mel Blanc's talents. But few remember that it was Friz Freleng who coached him in his vocal delivery, especially for his Yosemite Sam performances. Mel would read his Sam lines, and Friz would say, "No, do it again, but this time with more intensity." Mel once said that of all the directors he worked for, he hated working with Friz the most "because he made me work!" Bless you, Friz Freleng, for making Mel work, so we could enjoy some of the funniest cartoons ever made.
After watching this video, I think there's a lot of potential to make a Yosemite Sam video game.

I love how Sam's voice changes when he's beating the lion with a stick, yelling at it to shut up, but soon realizes that his goose is cooked when Bugs opens the cage door, releasing the lion thus allowing it to chase Sam.
Actually, I have a question ❓
What's the name of the episode Sammy Sam in the lion's den?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Roman Legion-Hare" (1955)
@@fromthesidelines Thanks 👍
You're welcome!
Love how Yosemite is so angry all the time , it's a classic
1:45 "When I say whoa I mean whoa!!" 😂😂
0:47--"Rabbitson Crusoe." I love how at this point how Sam's triumphant laughter quickly turns into "UH-OH..."
Greatest cartoons of all time. The guys who created all these were geniuses.
I cried laughing watching this...nice reminder of what real cartoon comedy was. The sound effects, the voice acting (one man wonder Mel Blanc). I'm still cryin' from laughing a little bit. Nice content sir.
Yosemite Sam is an all-time legend. We need more of him!
13+ years later and I still love Looney Toons.
I am over 50 years old. To this day I will still watch and enjoy these cartoon characters across my television screen. Classic, very humorous, very fun
And I'm only 21 and i think it's hilarious. A classic indeed!
Love how Sam kept swinging that hammer after the shark released him.
I LOST IT WHEN THE ELEPHANT STARTED USING HIM TO KILL THE MOUSE, LOL! HAHAHAHAHAA!!

The elephant, after dealing with Yosemite Sam's bs: "I was bad, but now I am good."
Timeless classics that will never get old
I grew up with these cartoons 50 years ago and they still make me laugh
56 nd still enjoying these cartoons
4:09 HOLY SMOKES, BUGS IS EVIL!! And I love it! 😂😂😂😂
I agree. It's on par with Tom and Jerry
That fish blowing up was hilarious 😂
“Ya danged ol’ fin flappin flounder!” Best insults ever.
"No-good bushwhackin' barracuda!"
I'm so using his insults at some point! 🤣
“Ya hammer head halibut!” Took me out 😂
@@kyjuan89 he sure did have a problem with fish, apparently 😂.
Back, back, back, ya shark livered varmint!!!
Picturing Mel in the recording booth, going all crazy Sam makes me smile :)

For that reason, Yosemite Sam tended to be the last voice recorded.
@@AEMoreira81 The scratchy nature of Sam was a heavy strain on Blanc's throat, so he recorded Yosemite Sam last in a given session.
On top of all that, he (usually) had the Jack Benny show on Sunday night to do, so Mrs. Blanc told the kids (his son Noel confirmed this) not to disturb Dad while he recovered his voice.
Some of the best days and memories of my childhood were spent watching these cartoons. I wish I could go back...
This cartoon was an inspiration to learn adverbs and adjectives quickly. 😂
Like "bushwhacking"?
😂😂😂👍👍❤
"When i say whoa , i mean whoa!"
XD😂😂😂😂😂
It's a pity, it's a real shame that they don't make cartoons like this anymore.
Can’t have gender affirming roles today… it makes the plebs too formidable
@@Eman-vp5wk As I recall, there were plenty of times when Bugs and Taz would show up in Drag. :D
Thank you.
My personal favorite was down down down ya Shark Toothed Salmon! 😆😆😄
No good bushwacking barracuda!
Ya shovel nosed mackerel!
Yosemite Sam seems to always have an identity crisis where he's either a pirate a cowboy a roman legionare a knight or a spaceman or a viking just to name a few it's as if he's suffering from multiple personality disorder.
You only have one outfit?
He's just that versatile.
A good "actor" can play many roles..
You forgot the most important: prospector
pairs nicely with anger management issues
Yosemite Sam was invented to be an unsympathetic character for Bugs to face. Elmer Fudd was sometimes a bit too nice to deserve some of Bugs' attacks
the Elephant's angry face at 4:55 is hilarious especially when Sam gets very nervous
*You* run smack into a wall, and you'd be angry too...especially if Sam pulled rank on you, and end up "busting" HIM instead. 😆

I looked in the mirror and I'm 56 now. Life was so much simpler way back watching these classic cartoons. It's a great feeling to me that I still really enjoy watching them. The only thing the internet is good for
The lowering of the alarm clock is my personal favorite.
"Here lions" and "HOW MANY TIMES times do I have to tell you to shut.... up?" are close competitors
0:45 to 0:50 - can't beat Sam laughing in triumph and then realizing he's screwed.
"Down, down, down, ya sharp-toothed salmon!"
This also happened to Sam at the end of "Hare Lift" (1952), where he jumped out of the crashing jet plane laughing his ass off until he realises that he's landing in the police car which was previously after him due to his previously attempted bank robbery at the beginning 😂😂😂😂
@@kingandrewcecil348 "But it's my gold, I worked hard for it!"

@@m3rrys0ngstr3ss That was another short, actually.
Everyone knows about Mel Blanc's talents. But few remember that it was Friz Freleng who coached him in his vocal delivery, especially for his Yosemite Sam performances. Mel would read his Sam lines, and Friz would say, "No, do it again, but this time with more intensity." Mel once said that of all the directors he worked for, he hated working with Friz the most "because he made me work!"
Bless you, Friz Freleng, for making Mel work, so we could enjoy some of the funniest cartoons ever made.
Odd, I heard it was Bob Clampett who really put Mel Blanc through the wringer.
Years later, I still laugh like a little kid from watching these!
When bugs drops the alarm clock down the hole...all the lions wake up at the same time..funny as hell
