Some fresh, high quality products making their U.S. show debuts-not to mention the excellent sound quality that was achieved-made this system a fun one to audition.
German Physiks Unicorn MKII speakers ($27,000-$31,000/pair, depending on finish) were driven by an Accuphase A-80 ($25,975), a pure class A 60Wpc amplifier.
The preamp for the system is an Ypsilon PST-100 MKII ($37,000) which offers active and passive modes.
The Accuphase DP-770 ($26,575) was tasked with immaculate CD and SACD playback. An EMM Labs NS1 network streamer ($4500) served digital tunes to the EMM Labs DA2 V2 DAC ($30,000).
Also in the system, the Accuphase C-47 stereo phono amplifier ($12,900) that allows for the connection of up to four tonearms. The turntable cartridge is also an Accuphase, the AC-6 ($6,950). For a turntable the system used a Thales TTT Compact II ($14,500).

EMM Labs digital processing always has the best resolution to my ears. Even years-old EMM pieces have a uniquely absorbing sound that draw me in like no others. And it's not fatiguing. The chill is gone. I build my system around an EMM source as the core element.

My brother and I attended this show and we both agreed that this was the absolute best sounding room. We both have very different systems, his Magnepan and subs, mine vintage Ohm speakers, so the fact that we both agreed on it says a lot.

Thank you both. It is encouraging to hear your comments. The German Physiks DDD unit is the next level evolution of the Walsh driver with better materials and full range capability. I had fell in-love with the original Ohms and the German Physiks speakers gave me what I wanted and more.

Thanks for sharing, though IMO the speakers are way too big and ugly. I lean towards discrete, small footprint with the electronics out of sight unless you live in a mansion.

Problem with that is you need big speakers to sound convincing.

Big speakers sound discernably better except for cheap ones. I usually have bookshelf of small floorstanders to save money

Thank you for you for expressing your opinion without sugar coating. However, the physics of the speaker require such cabinet. The German Physiks HRS-130 has a lot smaller footprint, sounds equally good, it is less expensive, due to easier construction requirements, and meet closer your design requirements. The paradox worth noting is that during the show, the women that visited our room loved the look of these speakers for their originality, wood work and available wood finishes. They also commented that it was the most natural sounding they had heard from a speaker. I told my daughter that she was not alone and the few women that visited us agreed with her. She was relieved to hear she was not an outlier. Regarding the space, these speakers require minimum 250 sqf of space and they are not designed for near field listening. Once again, thank you for your candid response.

I appreciate your candid opinion. Thank you!!! However, the cabin had to be what it is to ensure optimal sound performance. It is not for everyone, I understand and I appreciate it. IMHO, The Unicorns are an "audacious" take on a single omnidirectional, horn-loaded driver.
