The Panasonic Lumix FZ300/330 Beginners Guide - Pilot Episode

- A new series that will take a fresh look at this complex camera especially with the new user in mind (but I'm sure that you will learn something new even if you are an experienced user!).
From feedback on my Amazon book the FZ300/330 User's Guide and comments on my later CZcams videos it would appear that the technical content in these is just a bit to advanced for new users or digital camera converts to the complex camera.
So with that in mind this series will hopefully be less intimidation and far easier to learn by seeing the set up in action rather than having to read it in a manual etc.

It is in a high resolution PDF format so it can be read on smartphones tablet devices e-readers etc. It can also be printed out if you like (44 pages on A5 size paper)

Can I tell you how thankful I am for your video? I think the greatest invention of the 21st century is CZcams, and things like these are why. I just unboxed my camera earlier today, and although I watched this video several times in anticipation, I just watched it again, but this time able to go thru my camera settings. Looking forward for the rest, and I think I'm going to try and take a photography class. I agree with others comments that your delivery and teaching style is easy to listen to, and easy to follow. Very patient delivery and you don't make anyone feel dumb for not knowing these things. I can't wait to learn more features and get some use out if it now!

I just bought the FZ300 (in 2024) as my FZ200 finally decided il was time to retire.
I felt quite lost on how to use this new caméra, but then I discovered your channel on You Tube.

FZ300 is my first feature rich camera. Had it over two years now and still learning new features on a regular basis. Finding out more and more what a great camera it is. It's been a great learning experience. Looking forward to following your series on the camera. Your intitial review convinced me that this was the right camera for me. I mostly focus on video, but been getting more and more interesting in and enjoyment from photography as well.
I finally took the time to sit with my camera and watch you ... you ROCK !!!

Graham, I would like to commend you, from one educator to another, on an excellent and most thorough presentation. You have done a great service to photographers, and having suffered the woes of hell in deciding which contemporary mid-range (aka 'bridge') camera to invest in I decided on the FZ300... which led me to your marvelous lecture / demo. Mr. Houghton. Thank you for this new series. I got the FZ300 this June. I love the pictures that I'm getting, but feel lost in the menus. As example, I have not been able to set the flash to work in daylight as a fill. Thank you again.

Just got this camera. A couple things attracted me. External mic, 4k video and all the manual settings. I have a Canon M50 with a kit lense and wanted better zoom without having to purchase an expensive lens. With all that considered and the price just under $500 here in the states I figured it would be a good idea to grab. So far this tutorial is great and well explained. Thanks a bunch for the tutorial vids. Also just subbed to your channel.

Thank you. This is very very helpful. I am planning to upgrade from my Panasonic Lumix FZ 30 and am looking at the FZ 300 and the FZ 1000. Still trying to decide. So this series and your new series on the FZ 1000 are really helping me to get to know both cameras so that I can make a decision !!!
Bought my FZ330 last week after selling my old Nikon DSLR so thought I’d better find some sort of manual for it and happened upon this. Well, I thought, I’ve been using digital cameras for many years, what on earth is Mr Houghton going to teach me that I don’t already know? Three minutes into first episode…. reset brain to factory settings, resolve to just do what Graham tells me. This is a very different camera from anything I’ve had before and even going through the basics has taught me a whole new approach. Thanks Graham, I look forward to further episodes and will order the book.
