That has global implications asa the legal case is all about the definition of "woman" as laid down in a binding legal agreement that 189 nations are signed up to. It’s so strange this modern trend of gender fluid attitude amongst young people. I’m an old person facing the end of my life and
have 70 years of life experience. My first school was 1200 pupils and going right through my education which ended at university as
a mature student in my 30’s and then a teacher in secondary education upto 18 years olds, I NEVER EVER came across one single
young person that had any issues regarding not knowing what gender they were. I specialised in social and sex education and was
closely involved in many very sad cases of sexual abuse by adult grooming gangs. But we never had one case where a child felt
they were the wrong sex. What has gone wrong to suddenly find thousands of children needing these terrible drugs to make them
feel ‘normal’ it’s complete tripe and nonsense. Why can’t we stop meddling in children’s lives and let them grow up normally. Kids
always grow out of pre and post pubescent ideas, these are normally fed to them on social media and from their parents.

There needs to be a Royal Commission into the conduct of the NHS regulators AND of the staff at the various clinics, concerning both their administration of dangerous drugs and other dangerous therapies and their obstruction of the Cass review. The therapies were reckless and plainly unethical; but the obstruction was worse. Where proven, professional misconduct charges should result for medical staff, but any person in any office whatsoever who attempted to conceal information should face civil and even criminal charges

This interview is miles ahead of where the BBC was for years, but it's still remarkable that the interviewer's push-back is a fallacious argument, re affirmative care not being proven to not have a beneficial effects on mental health. Medical intervention that carries known risks must be proven to be effective. Then those benefits must be proven to outweigh the harms. You can't conduct medical journalism without centering that notion.
It MIGHT be that the treatment is experimental and therefor the full harms and benefits are under investigation, but that is, by definition, not standard treatment and not what people who are on waiting lists should be waiting to receive.
The Cass report is damning because experimental treatment, with known risks of severe side-effects, was being given as standard treatment AND no data was being collected to assess it's validity, and in fact increasing evidence has been amassed to show harm.

Whilst the BBC has been complicit in this scandal, at last they have the guts to start talking about this. No one else is doing it. The media silence on the Cass review has been deafening, across all mainstream platforms, left and right. The BBC news website had it top story today. I saw that and felt it was the beginning of a return to sanity, and I even feel a sense of relief that the BBC has, to a certain extent, led the way in this. In fact, the UK in general seems to be ahead of the rest of the Anglosphere in this. I hope more organisations follow and put this story front and centre. And this is massive, massive vindication for those who have led the fight, especially Graham Linehan who is owed a massive, massive grovelling apology by BBC Newsnight for the disgraceful hatchet job they did on him.

The BBC interviewing the excellent Helen Joyce regarding the Trans issue is both rare and long overdue. Pity the interviewer was trying to score points and play 'whataboutism' with Helen and not, for one, condemning the scandal of public officials refusing to cooperate with Hilary Cass in the production of this report. The BBC is no longer a credible organisation in my opinion and the sooner the public is free from being forced to pay for it the better. The fact that any public official refused to cooperate with the inquiry should be a matter of immediate suspension and disciplinary investigation. If these investigations identify that individuals have acted in accordance with acquired ideological bias instead of their professional codes of practice then reporting to their professional bodies should follow. If there is more egregious evidence of activities suggesting malfacitiousness , then consideration of criminal investigation should be started. It will be an interesting test to see if action is taken against individuals in this way or the NHS prove itself complicit in this scandal by taking no action. I will not hold my breath. Well done Helen, who handled the interview very well.

As for that comment from the parent, of course parents should act as all they list. That's quite literally the role of a parent. Perhaps that parent should spend more time in reaffirming the fact that gender stereotypes do not make you male or female opposed to affirming their child's delusions.
