  • This lesson will show you how to translate and localize CMS items so you can optimize your site for different languages and locales. We’ll add a CMS Collection and new element to a site that has been localized in Webflow. We’ll translate the text in the CMS items using Webflow Localization’s built-in machine translation. Then we’ll manage which items are visible in which locales and create a unique new CMS item for just a secondary locale.
    Note: A new button to translate all fields in a CMS item was recently added to the CMS menu making it even easier to translate CMS items.

    Is there a way to translate complete CMS on one click instead of translate each CMS item (record)?
    manually its taking a lot of time and I think we are wasting money by enabling this feature, weglot is much better

    You pay an extra $12 for the localization only to realize that you have to pay another $23 for the forwarding. Really sad

      And then start hiding elements/pages with custom code, as I am not rich enough for enterprise.

      @@SeshRogen How do you do it with custom code?

      @@jdanielortega I have an embed field "custom styles" on each page. To elements I want to hide I add an ID (e.g. blog) and add a#blog {
      display: none;
      } to the embed field.

    What if I don't see my language in the localization settings?

    Is there a way to automatically localize new items of the root locale into my secondary locales?

      Hey Leon, not today, for every item you would need to go to each secondary locale and auto localize or do so manually for each field you want localized.

    What happens in secondary locale stay in secondary locale... this reminds me of something

    Is there a way I can translate the text of the options inside the cms custom field ?

      Hi Camelia, you can select the language in a CMS item and then translate it (or use the auto translation). More on that here: czcams.com/video/-6AvSF7Prt0/video.html

    It's insane to require clicking every field to translate it.

      I just discovered this too... I have 72 items in 1 collection list, and that's only 1 CMS collection. Can you imagen 4.000 items... I think they should not have released this at all in this state. I'm hoping my client won't ask for localized slugs, because then I have to explain why he needs to pay 240 dollar per year extra for that. I am greatly disappointed, just like ecommerce and logic - a lot of noise for to little basic features

    Too little, to late Webflow! Greatly disappointed that translating the slug is not part of the 9 dollar per month plan.

      But they have quickly reacted to the feedback: On the latest video about localization they have disabled comments😅
