Panama may be out of the hurricane belt, but natural disasters are still possible here. Our guest speaker, Dave Nicoles (Disaster Dave to us) will discuss what natural disasters Panama is prone to, how you can prepare yourself, and what should your emergency supply look like in your home.
Dave’s Bio: Dave Nichols is a volunteer response team member (SRT) for ShelterBox. Since 2013, he has deployed ten times to support families in need after natural disasters. Once in the US and Nine times internationally, his deployments since COVID were Haiti in 2021, Pakistan in 2022, and recently to Turkiye.
For a Paying job, he spent 20 years in the US Army, followed by four years as a disaster director for the local Red Cross, with five deployments on Presidentially declared disasters in the US. 2018, he retired from Public Health Seattle & King County after eight years as an Emergency Manager. He currently lives in Boquete, Panama, with his wife Bridget!
