Hope you receive it soon and my spindle runs pretty cool I know its not a Makita but not everyone can afford that so I tried with a much cheaper one. Good luck

I believe if you use the 4th axis on a higher spec machine than the 4040, then you won’t need the handheld control as that functionality will be present in the higher spec controller? That is why they sell it separately.

Hi Patrick you are correct I like to use the offline controller as I have that facility on my large pro machine. I have had quite a lot of feedback as regards other cnc uses, various makes saying their cnc has stopped mid program or the pc has frozen which then makes a mess at what you are cutting. I have had my 4040 running for 7hrs on a chess piece on a really detailed cut and it never faltered. I also use it in normal 3 axis mode I dont even link the pc now. It is pretty limited in what you can cut with it but it works. I believe Sainsmart have just launched a 3030 machine with linear rails and ball screws and that comes with the off line controller and you can use the 4th axis. With the issues I have had and other uses with the 4040 pro I hope the quality control is much improved. That is what the 4040 lacked from the start ball screws.

I am going to make an unmounted 50mm thick block to match the A axis center height, then use it with the probe to set Z0

Thank you for taking the time making these instructive videos. I'm really enjoyed your videos about the Genmitsu 4040-Pro and the Offline Controller specificially. I just purchased both and a 10 Watt Genmitsu laser, but have no idea what I am doing with any of it. I was wondering if you would know whether or not Light burn exported to the Genmitsu's 4040-Pro Offline controller? Also if you would know how to laser engrave using Carveco to the offline controller. Thank you for any help or direction you can point me to get help with these newbie questions. Again thank you for taking the time to create these videos and please have a blessed day!

Hi I do not know whether the offline controller would take files from lightburn and as I use vectric Aspire for engraving I cant help you with that. As far as I am a where you connect the cnc with the laser unit connected and connect to lightburn on your pc and setup as an engraver. I have seen a video on youtube doing this. I would think using carveco to create your carvings then you would save them as the GRBL mm post proccessor then it should work on the off line controller.

Can you add limit switches on your 4040 Pro?
