I use only 256gb Sandisk Extreme for this camera as it consumes space at double the rate of the Hero 7. If you are like me, I try to never turn the camera off when I’m out as you can guarantee that’s when something will happen and you’ll miss it. You will require 2 x 256gb cards for a full days riding if you’re on tour.

It's nice to hear someone else's view on my local roads as when you live here you take the views for granted.
As you do wherever you live. But you do have some spectacular scenery and roads up there, just to remind you 😉😂🏍️👍
A Brit living in Scottsdale, AZ. Loving your channel. Making me home sick of course. Now I need to take my R1250RT and take a ride to Lake Tahoe, CA, after watching your vid 👍
I’d come with you if I could! 😂🏍️👍
Fantastic Jack, we ride Northumberland a lot, like the Scottish borders, hidden gem.
It’s absolutely beautiful up there. Wish I lived closer. 😍🏍️👍
It won’t be hidden if there is an advertised route in the area. I moved away from the NC500 as in my opinion, the highland region has been ruined by it, unless you run a business there of course, but thats not my point.
@@Ukmongoose3 I thought the idea was to bring commerce to areas deprived of it to boost rural economy? I get the fact that they can then become overly busy but what’s a better alternative?
Thanks for an interesting video again.
If you are in the Helmsley area again, keep heading north towards Stokesley.
The road is nicknamed The Helmsley TT and you'll realise why when you try it.
I checked it out on the map just now. That looks quite naughty 😎🤩🏍️👍
You captured that very well. Looked like a great trip so far.
Thanks buddy, I really enjoyed myself up there. 👍
Hi Jack. Lovely video of a beautiful area. Totally agree with solo trips, in my early riding days it was with groups and also holidays, we always ended up arguing amongst ourselves, never again solo only for me, stop when you want, go where you want in my own time and chill. Subbed after the RS video as I have one, good stuff 🇬🇧
Thanks Johnny. Yes, solo is a winner 👍🏍️👍
A cracking vid Jack and I’m looking forward to watching the rest of this little series 😎👍
Cheers Simon, hope you enjoy them 👍
Good video Jack! As a point of interest, I did notice that round about the 17.20 minute mark you were leaving Helmsley. This is the start of a well known stretch of road colloquially called, “The Yorkshire TT,” running between Helmsley and Stokesley on Teesside.
I hope I haven’t missed anything in your commentary, as I type this the video is on pause, my apologies if it’s coming up later. 🏍🏍👍👍
Thanks Henry, no I didn’t do the Yorkshire TT, will have to do that another time. 👍
Great video mate, that one is on my "To do" list. 👌👌👍
Thanks Steve 👍👍👍
Looking into doing this next Spring Jack so thought I’d do a bit of research and low and behold your series pops up! Great video mate and totally wet my appetite. Hope all’s well! Dave. 🏍🎥
Hi Dave, yes all good here. Just on the ferry heading back from Picos with Richy and the team.
I absolutely loved the Northumberland 250 route, such a beautiful area. I loved the Dumfries and Galloway trip too so I was planning a Borders trip for next spring to encompass more of the region.
If we timed it right we could possibly meet up for lunch one day and ride together for a while?
@@motomogul defo on for that! Let’s keep in touch.
Thanks for sharing your ride. I’ve planned a route similar to yours but starting in the north east. All going well I’ll set off tomorrow.
Hope the weather is kind to you. It’s a beautiful place, especially when the sun is shining. You can start the route at any point really. Have a great few days 🏍️👍
Head space mate……. Your can’t beat going out for a ride to clear ya head….. agreeed nice video’s ❤
Thanks Chris. Couldn’t agree more 💪👍👍👍
Great video Jack. I’d never heard of the Northumberland 250. Definitely something I would look to do solo over a weekend. Thanks for enlightening me. 👍
Pleasure fella, a weekend would be adequate for this route 👍
Looking like it's going to be a great series..can't wait for next episode
Cracking vid Jack, shame about the drone but hey ho. Coffee is on me
Thanks Dave, you’re a star. Cheers 🤩👍☕️
Nice vid Jack. You're always welcome to join one of our rides whenever you fancy it, we're only up the road 👍
Thanks. Let me know when you’re out for one and if I can I’ll come along 👍
Just come across this site and it's absolutley superb, well done on the videos and presentation it's top notch. I'm off to the Picos in October, might see you there...who knows.
Thanks Ian, very much appreciated. Please come and say hello if you see us over there in Picos 👍👍👍
So many stunning roads in Northumberland. Real variety. Coastal, moors, hills and beautiful towns. Lived here for a while now and wouldn't trade it for anywhere else. Great video. Subbed. 👍
Cheers James 👍
Should of waited you have just told me where to find the maps , bloody brilliant jack so informative, img what a great weather and stunning roads , I AM GOING ASAP. Wow
Great vid jack hope your well
Hi Tomo, I’m good thanks buddy. 👍🏍️😍🤩
Looking at doing his route in a few weeks , great video
Enjoy 🏍️👍
Hi Jack excellent vlog awaiting the next episode. Just a thought for your late summer trip have a look at the Spanish N260 a bikers mecca, but keep to the old road as much as you can if that does not float your boat I dont know what will go west to east with a stop off in Andorra. Just a thought.👍👍
Thanks Graham. Fortunately Richy contacted me while I was on this trip to tell me that a place would be available as someone was forced to drop out, so my autumn tour has been saved 👍
Bloody fantastic video Jack. Well worth the wait… top drawer. I’m in need of a re-set but I’m one of those as you know who finds going off in my own daunting. But after watching this I may just do it….. shame about picos! Your more than welcome to join us to picos & Portugal??
Thanks Jay. It was you in my mind when I was saying that, although I’m too polite to say in the video. As I’ve said before, you may enjoy it more than you think. Try just a couple of nights first.
Regarding the Picos, same as happened last year which meant you got a late space, same thing happened for me this year and someone has dropped out, otherwise I would gladly have taken you up on that offer.
We need to get together soon for a ride out. 👍🏍️☕️
Bloody brilliant start to a little series 👏 ❤
Brilliant as always Jack, your stuff always hits the spot. Looks like you were up there just a few days before me, as myself and a mate (both riding ZZR1400's) rented a small house in Morpeth and toured the area, just like you we enjoyed mainly empty roads, we felt like two fighter bombers carving our way along those long straights and beautiful bends, unfortunately the weather wasn't as nice as you had certainly on day one but great times, very much looking forward to EP2 & 3.
Those roads are perfect aren’t they? Pity about the weather, it has been rubbish up to now. It was cold when I was there even though I did get mainly sunshine. Thanks buddy 👍
Great video Jack, we love it up there beautiful scenery and as you say great quiet roads.
It has become one of my favourite places ❤️🏍️😍
Great vids Jack. Being from East Mids and a fan of Lincs I recognise many of the roads you ride. Also a big fan of Northumberland having used Alnwick a few times as a base. You mentioned what trip to do later in the year. A few years ago me and a mate took ferry to Spain, then spent 10 days riding home. Did the Pico’s, Pyrenees, Andorra, not quite Barcelona, then Carcasonne & Millay, up through central France, Oradour Sur Glane, Normandy & home. Hotel booked via internet each day depending where we were heading. One of the best trips I’ve done on a motorbike.
That sounds like an awesome trip. I was just discussing next year with a friend this afternoon.
Fortunately, Richy contacted me a couple of days after posting this to tell me someone had dropped out and did I want the place. At least this year’s fixed 👍👍👍
Lovely video. I prefer your footage with the new GoPro Mini to the insta on the bars. Really I should be doing the same. Now I had not heard of the Northumbria 250, but will make an excellent long weekend. Agree about solo riding, it is indeed quite special. I need to try to do so again soon, not really ridden alone yet this year!! BTW want to join me and David for the Fen Tour best roads in Yorkshire and Cumbria weekend at the end of June? Safe riding and keep the lovely videos coming. 👍
Thanks buddy, yes I much prefer the Mini to the insta. On the next episode I put it into Superview which makes it even sharper footage.
I can’t do end of June as I’m supposed to be at the ABR festival. Something I’m trying to get out of. I bought the tickets last year but I’m really not in a good place mentally to be with lots of people, I’d much rather head out on my own again. So if you know anyone who wants tickets for that, I’ll let mine go for reduced price 👍🏍️
@@motomogul I deliberately put the Fen Tour weekend to be the same as the ABR festival, not my idea of fun. I am not grumpy, honest! Means less people, just need 6-7 for a top couple of days out enjoying beautiful scenic roads. Cheers and keep up the lovely vids. 👍
Fantastic again Jack keep them coming. Looks an amazing area
Thanks Martin 👍🏍️
Just starting and lovely music Jack , loving it already , and holy island , I’m passing there in June , that was a stunning picture of Roxy in the sea
Thanks Carl. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it over to Lindisfarne this time, I cocked up with the tide times 😳😂🏍️
Great video Jack, living just off the A68 near Corbridge I recognise most of those roads, we really are blessed living here. Solo touring is my preferred choice now, Wallonia southern Belgium for me this year, the biking joys of the Ardenne and surrounding region. Based in a AirBnB for a week😎
That sounds blissful. And yes, you are bloody spoiled! 😂👍🏍️🤩
@@motomogul 😜👍🏍
What a cracking vid mate,really enjoyed that,cant wait for Ep2 ;-)
Ride Safe Mr B \m/
Thanks Mr B. A busy day of editing today so next episode will be out one week today 🤩🏍️👍
Hi MM, really good of you to share your experience’s with us
Thanks.
I’m after a bit of Northumberland knowledge…. I doing the N’land 250 in 3 weeks ( my 1st solo motorcycle trip) and I only have the 250 map and my phone to navigate my way round.
Can you please let me know if the phone network will see me right ALL the way round the route.
I’m contracted to Vodafone and I’ve heard there may not be full coverage. I can’t afford a proper NAV system at the moment.
Any comments would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards Tony (a definite fan)
Hi Tony, I didn’t have any issues with phone signal. I’m on vodaphone too.
I do use the Scenic app and plot my routes before hand, zooming in to check they are correct before I go. For the NLand 250 I made sure I had dedicated routes that I would just start at the beginning of each day. Using the app you don’t have to worry about loss of signal in remote areas, some kind of witchcraft takes over to keep a dedicated map on your phone.
Hope this helps and I hope your first trip is everything you hoped it would be. Let me know how it went?
Also, feel free to contact me for more advice, I’ll help if I can 👍
Cheers Tony. JP
Great video Jack. My wife and I did the road with the lead mines were last year. Stunning road.
Looking forward to your follow on videos.
We're off to the Pico's and Pyrenees first 2 weeks in September.
It’s a really beautiful place to ride. As is the Picos 😍 Some good news on that front coming soon 🤩👍
Superb video JP, scenery and soundtrack fabulous, thought for your end of year tour.. late last September I did the whole coastline of Ireland with a group of mates and it was spectacular, I would though recommend staying in the South and South west as that’s where the good stuff is rather than the North where it’s good but not great!
Good for thought??
Have a great trip and looking forward to part 2 👍
Thanks Martin, Ireland sounds fantastic, I will get there one day. 🤩🏍️👍
Great video. Having changed from a Africa Twin to a GS 1200 Adventure Rallye enjoyed your feed back about the pro shift etc. Superb views and roads. One to look at doing 👍🏼
Cheers Wayne. Well worth doing 👍
Nice one Jack, looks like a great trip. I look forward to the rest of the vlogs. Know what you mean, clearing head, need that more than ever at the moment. 10 hours riding GS is definitely comfy then 😂 take care, stay safe 🏍 👍
It was super comfortable for an old fella! 😉🤩🏍️
Nice video mate
Thanks 👍
Awesome mate cracking little trip, I do like a few couple nights away on the GS exploring! How was the bmw mapping app? You can plot waypoints and select the least travelled road? 🎉
Thanks buddy. I didn’t use the BMW app, just the Scenic one 👍🏍️
Great video, spectacular scenery. Is that the BMW cradle you are using with your phone
Yes buddy, works very well and wireless charging too 👍
@@motomogul Guess I had better be a good BMW owner and stump up the cash then 🤓
@@moonrakercbr1649 😂👍🏍️
Great vlog as usual can I ask is that the standard screen on your bike and what tyres are you running on .. don’t say round ones 😂😂
Thanks Niall. Yes it’s the standard GS screen, different on the GSA of course. The tyres are black and round, just for clarity! 😂😂😂
They’re Michelin Anakee Adventure that are on now and I love them. Some people complain about road noise which sounds like a wheel bearing, but I’ve not had that issue.
Can I ask how do you find this truly epic roads , are you following the n250 loop to the dot ? And are you using the bmw maps ?
Faithfully following the 250 route. The app is called Scenic, and I plot the route into it for each day before I leave home. 👍
Over 40 mph well into a 30 zone, really !!
Hello Jack
What brand is the horn that you have on the bike?
Hi Paul, it’s the Denali Sound Bomb 👍
@motomogul thanks very much Jack, I'll be getting one on order.
I did mean to say how much I enjoy your trips. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
@@paulhallett9206 Thanks Paul, much appreciated buddy 👍👍👍
