One Nazi officer's wife lost her son who only had a deformed foot when her husband took him for a ride and never brought him back. I felt so blessed to listen to them tell me stories about how they had come to know him

I read Fred’s article in Time Magazine last week, and as someone who once worked with people with disabilities, I was beyond disgusted.
I wasn’t surprised, though - and neither should anybody else. He showed his true colors when he mocked that disabled reporter nine years ago, during those first campaigns.
And you know what the worst part of that is? While that should’ve been the end of that campaign for him, it _wasn’t._ People chose to support him anyway. And we are where we are now because of that.

Before I retired, I worked for decades as a teacher for multiply handicapped students; they were all in wheelchairs. Trump mocked the handicapped and said they'd be better off dead. My students were way more happy, innocent, and caring than Donald will ever be. He should not be president of anything. 😛

I was an RN 25 years, then became disabled. It took me 5 years to collect disability over age 60. I was denied 4 damn times, meanwhile living in the streets and shelters. I very nearly did die of disease, lack of health care, exposure, and violence. You have to appeal and wait another damn year for a hearing. You don't know how brutal this country is until you can not work. I'lll never forgive Uncle Sam. I believe he would unalive people over 60. This happened before and during Trump. It's eugenics.

I took care of my dad who had dementia for 8 years. I took care of my mom who had a quintuple bypass and was using an oxygen respirator for 4 years. Never even occurred to me to think about what to do. Do what you are able to do if you can but don't diminish others. When family doesn't even help family then you need to reevaluate your priorities.
