I'm going to be posting on CZcams selected previously locked Patreon videos that are approximately 1.5 (one and a half) years old.
They are early Patreon videos and not of the same quality or length of the videos I'm producing now on Patreon or CZcams. This is one of them :
Many, many thanks to my patrons on Patreon for enabling me to keep going - bless you all!
Some of the topics discussed on the 'blah blah' towards the end of video, because of the upload date, may no longer be relevant. Later videos are more graphic in content, and will most certainly be demonetised by CZcams; nevertheless, thanks to my loyal Patreon patrons, I will eventually post them here too despite CZcams's advertiser friendly policy.

I wish you would make a BitChute or Drop.Space channel too.
@@ObsoleteOddity I'm scraping up me tuppence! £€$....lol
“Rochester Rappings” May have been fake, but it’s still my hometown history. 😃. Houdini used to debunk spirits. How about a video about his efforts versus Conan Doyle. Might be an interesting look into the history of paranormal studies.
Don’t mess with elephants. Niffy
Seeing a post from you makes my day. I thoroughly enjoy all your subjects. Thank you for sharing your many talents with us ❤️
Joseph Chamberlain is a fantastic name for a cat.
I'm naming one of my future foster cats Joseph Chamberlain now. lol
Melissa Lawrence~Or J.C. for short.
Animals can do the most impossible seeming things, not realizing how difficult they seem to be.
@ what a journey..what a smart cat too. He was definitely street savvy
@ yup. My kinda 🐱 cat...
I love reading old newspapers as well. I wouldn't mind if you did more of these.
What an amazing find!
@@babalon7778 agreed

The Oddie Appreciation Society like Oliver Twist asks "Please Sir Oddie, we want some more."
:)
Good for you. Do what protects your business.
Thank you oddie,I liked the snippets too.i truly enjoy all you do.a highlight for sure.
Ok, the cat story is priceless!!!
lolol: Joseph Chamberlain: 'Without waiting for customs examination, or to inquire for messages.' I hope you do more videos like this, it was very entertaining. :)
Laurie P, That Cat was a class act 😻
What a "Kool Kat”
Duels with pitchforks and ghosts with sheets over their heads. These are hilarious. Love them!
This is so interesting. I love old newspaper articles. They're so fascinating.
I'm a simple person, I see an Oddy video. I click, and I am thoroughly pleased. Today is a good day.
Bless you :)
So very true
I see my old cat Neikka (who has passed) all the time.. it's remarkable really!
I love her dearly!
Years ago after one of my cats passed, my now ex husband, myself and our other cat heard him meowing from the main floor. And he meowed in this particular way. We were all shocked. Even our cat was quite confused and perked his head when we heard the meowing. I said to my ex we should say something back to let him know we miss him and love him. Never heard back after that night.
I guess he was just checking up on us to make sure we were all okay. I'm sure Neikka is doing the same :)
@@kittymamayyz Oh wow that's pretty amazing! 😺
Same - I see my late furry friends from time to time. Nice to know they are still around. After all, they were pretty spoiled when they were in corporeal form!
@@nickimontie Yes it gives you comfort to know that they are ok.
Mmm I think Mom's cat Mitten came w her old sofa.
Especially when it first arrived my PennE would play With it
Oddie, I like the illustrations and photographs you've used - they really add to these news stories, along with your wonderful voice of course. 😉😊
Many thanks for your great feedback Jayne - Much appreciated :)
I appreciate the research and editing you put into these unusual old news articles.
Debi right?! This gentleman rivals the best narrators of our time. It’s like listening to Old Time Radio. Even w/o his incredible visuals one can just listen and “SEE” the story unfold. Audiobook readers & listeners should tune in to hear a true master massage his craft💞
The start of a good day. Coffee an Oddie.
I enjoy the writing style of old newspapers too
Absolutely more old newspaper articles, your channel is the best!!!
My sweet cat Olivier who passed away on our living room floor while we were at work a year and a half ago. I still see him and often here him jump down from the table or cabinet (plop). He was an indoor pet and his energy is still in our home!
@gumbess it's no hallucination, and your pets have everlasting spirit just like you. That doc just hasn't experienced the supernatural.
@@drivethrupoet Or maybe they don't have any pets that have crossed yet came back to reassure him. I've seen and felt my cat come back to me after he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. :)
I KNOW a now passed kitty of mine has made herself known to me. 10 years on now.
The Lion The Dr doesn't have an open mind, I wish you well x
I enjoy everything you do. Thanks so much for all of your time. 🌴✌🌴
Yes I agree..😎
It's interesting how today's news is all doom-gloom sensationalism, but old news is about a guy being late for his boat departure, it seems kinda simple and mundane but refreshing.
...and the "guy" is...
a *cat*
@@karaamundson3964 haha I didn't catch that.
A cat was late for his ship's departure.
Panda you haven’t really read many old newspapers have you? This had A pitchfork duel? Killing one of the duelist. I go online and read some of the papers from the 20s and it’s full of doom such as lynchings , many murders of husband or wife’s and lots of scam artists. The closer you get to any of the world wars and it’s very doom and gloomy
I had a friend who passed away a couple of years ago, and he had a mountain of newspapers from the 1800s. He'd had them all laminated. I absolutely loved sitting and reading them. Unfortunately, when he died, his family tossed them. I hope you'll do more of these. It's obvious you spend a lot of time and effort on your videos, and we really appreciate you (and that incredible voice of yours)
Many thanks for your very kind feedback Gabrialle - Much appreciated :)
You would think his family would have some clue of how valuable those papers were.... He kept them and wen to the trouble of laminating them! They could have least donated them to a library or put a add in the paper and sell them. What is wrong with people? This actually made me a little mad!
@@glowinggold9488 I know, I'd had surgery and he died while I was in rehab, so I didn't know it for awhile. When I told his daughter about him letting me read them, she said she wished she'd known someone wanted them-she wouldn't have just thrown them out. She'd just lost her dad, so I couldn't let her know I was mad. Still just kills me when I think about it. He was such a sweet little old man; I hate that the things he loved didn't mean anything to his family. Not to mention the historical value.
I did enjoy these, so much more interesting than today's doom and gloom newspaper's! !!!!
Helen Hicks you must not read many old newspapers. Lynchings, murders and other terrible crimes are frequently reported in detail. Tons of other disgusting crimes all thru the papers
@@annemccormick8758 dont you think they exaggerated there stories back in those days.
The elephant and hobo story happened in my neck of the Woods in Massachusetts. Thank you.
Goat Boy Loves Hamburgers So interesting!
That was fun! I love old stories! My favorite was the cat!
My wife and I had a dog named Hannah. She passed away at age 14. Both my wife and I came home at night at 11 pm and we would walk down a path to our home and Hannah always met one or the other depending on who came home first and let Hannah out. My wife did not know Hannah had passed away since she had passed away while my wife was out of town visiting her parents and I didn't want to break the news to her until she came home. My wife's flight came in at night and I was sitting at home a little after 11pm. My wife comes in and turns around to call for Hannah and I said, baby there's something I need to tell you. And my wife's said yeah one minute I need to let Hannah back in, she followed me down. I said Hannah passed away yesterday. My wife said, what are you talking about she met me at my car and followed me down. I repeated that she had passed away. My wife maybe thinking I was joking or something still didn't believe me and I showed her Hannah who I hadn't buried yet. My wife broke down of course and yelled she saw her clear as day, she followed me down! I walked outside back up to our cars and we heard her distinct bark clearly. We turned around and there was shadowy little dog waiting for us and we followed it back down, the shadowy dog staying just ahead of us like Hannah always did. When we got your our door she faded away. It never happened again. It was 100% our dog Hannah one last time being with us. Take this as you wish but it happened.
Love the cat story. Could be so true.
I've heard of this story before now
😎 cool
I still see my lab Thor and hear my cat Loki once in a while they were my childhood babies
Nancy, yes indeed, I have sometimes seen one or two of my dogs that have passed over the years, and, one in particular that I never owned, a completely strange, but entertaining dog, at least to me.
Nancy Volker I also still see my bichon, Bailey our of the corner of my eye when I sit at my table on my phone. He would always sit there at night while I was online
@@laurenpiantino8312 love is eternal

EXCELLENT, ANIMALS ARE WONDERFUL THANKS
Love the snipits. I found old papers from under the carpet from 1940. Love finding treasures!
Yes it's exciting to find something or some things, that have been hidden away and unseen by human eyes for so long.
Enjoy your videos and these little snippets..I do have animal ghosts in my house..my house was built in 1925..a quaint little town here in the U.S..I've been here 20 years and experienced sightings of dogs and cats running across the kitchen floor and the living room ( parlor) floor..sitting on top of the landing of the staircase..sitting in the middle of the staircase on a step looking over down into our living quarters..seeing these thin scraggly cats darting across the floor ...I thought I was going crazy..catching them walk and run out of the corner of my eye while I was standing there cooking..I could actually see there color and shape and size..I was afraid to say anything to my daughter..whom I live with ..she was young at the time...15..Until one day I came out and said it!..While we were out on a Sunday drive..I said " I see animals in the house." My daughter looked at me with this surprised look and replied "I thought I was the only one who is seeing them.? ..and was afraid to say anything...for fear you would think I'm nuts!" SO ...later we did some investigation only to find out there was a veterinarian that lived here..I been here 20 years and we see them time to time..they became a part of us..in fact we live by a small forest and have many woodland animals come visit us to this day..even snakes..and they listen to me talk in the garden..I never touch them ..but when I tell them to leave..they leave..even the snakes. I told this story to only one other person a friend of mine and to you Oddie. As I'm getting older I'm more in tune with nature....maybe it could be my native American heritage along with my eastern Europe one..who knows? But I thank God for giving me and my daughter these little gifts. God bless .🐶🐶🐱🐱
Absolutely wonderful! - thank you for sharing that :)
Completely believe the cat story . My family's dog used to catch the bus to visit my gran , he did this all by himself . No idea how he worked out which bus because all the busses looked the same , unless he could actually recognise the number on the front . Amazing dog , lived till he was 18 . Thanks for the video Oddie ❤️
I enjoyed it very much! I would love to hear another one.
I thought these snippets were quite entertaining, especially Chamberlin the cat, the world traveler and very smart.
That was so fun. I really liked the cat story. Glad to see your smiling face here on CZcams. Thankful you haven't left those of us that cannot afford patreon. God bless.

This was a great change of pace! Definitely keep doing these occasionally. They were fun, and I'm glad you enjoy making them. 😊
Thanks for your kind feedback Karen! Glad you enjoyed watching it :)
Fascinated by old newspaper articles, as well... I could spend hours doing so. My grandmother kept the entire newspaper, not just clipping articles, which makes them even more interesting, putting it all in context. All best wishes!
I did enjoy this very much! Besides if it means more content from you, I'm all for it!
I loved it , thank you so much for all that you do, you are an amazing person , love and prayers from Indiana, U.S.A.

LOVE 💕 YOUR 💕 Videos 💕
Hey Oddie how is your day going
I love how you edit old pictures into your videos makes them more interesting! Thank you for this one!
So appreciate these 'blasts from the past' thank you Oddie.
It was funny, but some stories I would like to know how they ended.
Ghost dog nothing. Try a ghost goat in the balcony if the Georgetown theater in Georgetown Texas just north of Austin Texas. My brother worked there as the advertising media guy as well as designing sets and being in two of the productions put on there. My sister-in-law also worked there as the prop and costume mistress. She is the one who told me about the resident ghosts who haunt the theater. I can't remember the others but the ghost goat in the balcony stuck in my memory. As much as I can remember is that someone with Mexican heritage would sell food in the balcony to the theater goers when the building was still young. How that fits in with a ghost goat I have no clue. Maybe it was the vendor's pet. So every time I would visit and went to the theater I would check around the balcony for the ghost goat.
Well I'd never heard of a ghost goat. lol - Maybe there's all types of ghost animals? :)
Maybe you should ask your sister-in-law if she knows more about the story - and why the food vendor was haunting the building?
Taryn Blake 😂
