I think we need to speak: My late father (Peter Inchley) was a brilliant bike racer and two stroke engineer/tuner in the mid to late 60's. Before he passed away in 2003 he explained to me the design of the ultimate two-stroke. No-one has done it yet and I would love to prove it's potential.
Loving this new channel, it really resonates with my own principles.

The pepsi and skoal bikes in this video are beautiful. Besides the pipes I believe the owner wanted them to look stock. When I bought my 1st rg500 in 1998, I loved the power delivery but had no confidence with the front end at all. When pushing the pace I really felt the front will tuck and low side at any time. I could not believe when I read test articles that the rg500 was said to handle really well, I did not feel that way at all. That's when I researched and contacted the late Rick Lance. Right off the bat Rick said I needed to install the Race Tech emulators and gave me instructions on how to set it up. He also sold me the rear Fox shocks along with a set of 1990's gsxr750 wheels 17x3.5/17x4.5 and I ran michelin pilots as he recommended. NIGHT AND DAY difference! I had all the confidence in the world and it handled like a modern sport bike and as evidence the wear pattern are about 1/4" from the edges of the tire and that is not trying to be a poser to say "Hey look how much I leaned" that is proof of the huge improvement from a very easy and modest upgrades and the outcome from these simple mods. About a month before Rick passed away, he was trying to convince me of trying his front cartridge fork set up and rear Wiber shocks that he had the manufacturer revalved to his specs. I regret not doing this. Rick was the biggest and arguably the most knowledgeable on setting up the rg500 as the best usable street/canyon bike. The passing of Rick Lance is huge loss in the gamma world and myself and others who have known him truly miss him!

Great video! Thanks for taking the time to make some thing about a bike so near and dear to many of us.
I was at the Isle of Man a couple of years ago and was fortunate enough to see Danny racing aboard the team classic Suzuki RG500, my hat is off to all the guys keeping these bikes riding and racing. I don’t think bikes like this will come around again, we were very fortunate to be a part of it all!

    Thank`s for the video!
I do know that the RG500 was called Gamma here in Germany and had 98 BHP untouched !
Keep it up and be safe

Nice video and excellent analysis on the 1976 RG 500 XR14 of Sheene. The square four engine Suzuki 54x54 mm, was a two-stroke masterpiece, 114 cv @ 11.000 rpm ! Danny Webb always a great rider....

Back in the day all my mates told me to get the GSXR750. But I went and got the RG500. And I’ve still got it. Because there’s nothing like a big stroker.

Amazing RG 500s - Amazing riders, but just put on them better break calipers and keep the old originals for the photos only. It's a shame not to be able to ride these powerful and so exciting motorcycles because of old bad breaks in the name of "originality". Also, the skinny wheels just reduced the cost, you can use larger Suzuki wheels of the same era. Congratulations!!! Keep building and racing RG 500s !!! We love them!!!

*I had a 1989 RG500 'C' Series Pepsi Suzuki one of the last made, and rode it hard including Track Days at Oulton, Cadwell and Mallory Park but was classed as up to 1000cc Class, managed to keep up on corners, but Honda Blackbirds beat me on acceleration - however finished 3rd so considered a win at Cadwell Park !*

Lovely memories of the old 2 strokes. When I was young we had 2 choices, Stan Stevens tuning or Terry becket tuning. Also I recall it was a Suzuki engineer that improved the 4 stroke valve technology that ended the 2 strokes

Stan Stevens, nice. Back in those days work like that was outside of my £ reach so it was DIY tinkering (wrecking) in the shed 🤣

Ive had a lot of 2 strokes and all of them would start and run the same which was 1 or 2 kicks and in snowmobiles 2 to 3 pulls when cold. This is in stock form, modified would be different likely. Only time my RZ500 didnt start was when it fell over in a rain storm over night and it was flooded. Lots of kicking later it ran a took me home again.
Good to see those bikes again for sure.

Good content you're having. Hope you're soon getting the views and subscriber you'll deserve. RG500 was the dream bike of my youth. Was first the extinction of two strokes and later the introduction of traction control that made me totally lose interest in motorbike racing. Good to see that there are some people keeping the spirit alive.

Had the Pepsi back in the day, loved it but one day I got my arse kicked by an fzr 600 and thought "its all over for the 2 strokes" shortly after that I moved it on .....didn't realise what I had.😭

the mz story is all bollocks , degner knew more about two strokes than suzuki and the Oxley’s 2010 so called page-turner 'Stealing Speed' is full of errors and false information.
