    On a quick scan, we got the code 93C1... which pointed to the occupancy sensor for the passenger seat...

    Great video 👍 When airbag light comes on some cars it's usually the front passenger seat repair disconnect yellow line plug under seat clean with isopropyl and tell passengers not to move seat.

    Proper repair Luis . Much nicer to work with new parts and it gives you a bit more insight about the client as well . The " cheap "clients are most of the time the ones that cause you stress when something doesn´t go according to plan and we can all do with less stress .

    @4:35 after you repositioned the camera to show the seat sensor harness, the grey cable looked pinched between the seat spring/frame and the foam. Hopefully you routed new sensor cable to avoid this. A test of the old cable could confirm the fault.
    Good video.

      The side Airbag, I would guess is the one on the side of the seat...
      But I might be mistaken...
      Try to disconnect it under the seat, if no new faults are logged, then you know...

    Just to take notice, passenger airbag won't go off if seatbelt is not attached. Occupancy sensor is not for blowing airbag. Seatbelt has to be on to airbag go off. If seat occupancy sensor is the only thing airbag needs to go off when crash occurs, it would most likely kill you without belt on.

  • @Clicksystems
    @Clicksystems Před 2 lety +4

    Don’t the sensors also read occupant weight? Which is why they have a signal wire instead of just a simple make or break circuit like the seatbelt buckle?
    Gives a weight reading to determine the timing of airbag deployment.
    So bypassing sensor could throw off airbag deployment timing?

    Bro, if you do not mind I need your advice. I think I bricked my engine ecu when I tried to modify my egr map. The car is golf 5 2.0 sfi with MED9. 5.10 ecu. Now can't boot and no communication. I used ktag kess with no luck. Do you know a tool that can recover my ecu.

    I wish the part where you removed and replaced the leather was included. Everyone wants a couple grand to replace my seat mat sensor.
    Also did you ever diagnose the fault in the sensor? Curious what it might have been.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před rokem

      Usually they just break the circuit and start to fail...
      The leather is not difficult to remove, once you start to dismantle the seat, you can figure it all out...
