She did remind me of Whitney in her good years. I just saw an old clip from 2004 before xfactor where she sang "I will always love you" and she really hit some of Whitney's notes like nobody else could have.

I dragged my sister along who wasnt really bothered, but during the bridge where Leona sings higher and higher into the heavens my sister audibly said "oh my gosh wow", i can still see her face now. You’re right I think she was a little out of breath with this one. It come after Take a Bow where she was throwing some moves, and a dress change back stage. From memory I think Can’t Breathe was about half way through the setlist. Still did amazing mind! 😊

She had potential to be more like Mariah more so than Whitney because her voice was closer and sounded more like Mariah’s but she wouldn’t have been able because she lacked the vocal agility and power and dynamics. But she was on her way up there until her vocal decline.
The background singers sounded better than her. Somebody was slaying the soprano part. Leona only sounds good with the head voice. It was a shaky out of breath lackluster performance for her. To be Britains equivalent to Kelly Clarkson, she never measured up which is why her star faded as fast as it rose. Cute girl and beautiful gowns
