4oak was better than 5oak the whole run, they both scale at the same rate and 4oak lets you save a king every hand

dude baron isnt even that good with stuntman and shit all it does is make kings steel and hes usually playing all the kings in his hand for score. having the kings in hand be steel he would just boost the flat mult of the pair of kings hes playing up to the four of a kind he could just play and then have more jokers
but he got the baron early enough that he could have pivoted off stuntman into a baron-centric build
@@christianj2361 ive certainly never had any good baron runs even if i had a lot of kings. i think its an overhyped joker. its just a few steel cards in hand every round unless youre getting like a 14 card hand. its not a safe pivot when you need that 300 chips

I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes the free re-roll Joker and then forgets to use that free re-roll half the time
probably just you and NL honestly. I know when I have it, I use it every single time (even if I have $0). If it is taking up one of my joker slots, I am going to make it go to work.
That of course goes with good jokers like DNA as well (which NL somehow forgets to use, even being one of the best jokers available).

I've heard your take on vamp and I think even in the best-case scenario with like Midas touch creating enhanced cards, the amount of value removed by vampire stifles your infinite potential more than it's worth. I think there should be a button to toggle off the eating function so you can build the mult early in the run, but then you can enhance cards and actually use them towards the end game. That's the only way it becomes a viable e card
It's great for winning the game, and it's fine for jokers to be suited that while not having crazy endless potential. And being able to turn it off would make it way less interesting.
@@gophermanX less interesting? I just think it would give you more control. Say you don't want your steel eaten, you should be able to toggle it off, then turn it back on to eat like a bonus card or something you don't care about as much.

So if you have say 12 queens you want to play and 40 random other cards, then you either make it 12/38 with hanged man or make it 14/40 with cryptid. Cryptid gives you better odds in the short term, but thinning your deck so you have a guarantee to draw the cards you want is very good since it lowers the chance of bricking on draws.

To answer your question, hanging man is better when atleast half of your deck is kings. If less than half of your deck is kings, death is better
For the question of whether it's better to add two kings with Cryptid or remove two non-kings with Hanged Man, it depends on deck composition. If you have only two non-kings in your deck, removing them takes you from ~95% chance to draw kings to ~100% chance to draw kings. But in the case where you have no kings in your deck, adding two kings takes you from 0% king chance to ~5% king chance. (Those numbers depend on how thick your deck is.)
Well yes obviously, but I think NL is asking at what point it changes. Of course the trivial case of no kings, you should always add kings, but that’s not even possible with cryptid so not really relevant. It’s otherwise fairly simple to solve - it’s either increasing the numerator by 2 or decreasing the denominator by 2. It ends up that as long as the total number of cards (denominator) is at least 2 greater than the number of kings (or any other card you’re trying to collect), then cryptid (adding 2 more) is better. Since that is almost always the case, adding 2 more is almost always better.
Did some quick math regarding adding two kings versus removing two non-king cards and I think its better to remove cards once 50% of your deck is Kings. With 60 cards in your deck, if you have 20 kings then the odds of drawing a king increase by around 2% if you add kings whereas it only increases by 1% if you remove non-kings. If you have 30 kings then removing non-kings increases your odds of drawing a king by 0.1% more than adding two kings does. If you have 40 kings then its the same numbers as when you have 20 kings but removing non-kings increases odds by 2% and adding kings only increases them by 1%. Negligent differences either way but I was procrastinating doing real work so thanks for the distraction.
