    Hi Emeric, thanks for the video. It's great to see you producing videos again.
    I have two Unleashed which I purchased when they were on sale. I've used the auto, timelapse and photo modes with good success. There have been cases where I changed an ND filter on the camera while the Unleashed was attached and it seemed to confuse the Unleashed and throw off the exposure. Simply disconnection and re-connecting the Unleashed from the camera solved this issue.

    My View+ just sits there too. I break it out maybe once a year, but most time I just use my internal intervalometer cause it will auto adjust exposures too. However the simpler the external one is to setup and use standalone the better. No phone required is best I think. Thanks for taking the time for the video.

    Awesome video. You definitely should take a look at Arsenal 2. I'm testing their timelapse mode right now and I'm pretty impressed how good it works. I think it's definitely one of the most userfriendly devices you can get. Also the live timelapse preview on the phone is very nice. I don't want to change to any other device anymore.

    Watching this in Sept. 2023 and due to COVID and other global parts issues, the Unleashed 2022 is just starting to ship from what I was told (I'm a project backer). Hopefully we all get our hands on it in the next few months after the year delay.
    I really like my 2018 version... very small, low power draw and easy to keep on the camera at all times, for timelapse and general remote use. The software and phone control has been working very well and no issues. The old unit will remain on my backup body once the 2022 version is in my hands for my main camera.

      I use Canon 5D4 + LTimelapse Pro Timer 3.0 + qDslrDashborad.This hard-software combo works well. Here's a link to one of my recent time-lapse shoots: czcams.com/video/_7_THc4dBNk/video.html
      If I'm shooting day to night to stars, I use the Ramping feature of LTimelapse Pro Timer 3.0. The Ramping starts about 20 minutes after sunset, the Ramping duration is 20 minutes, and the interval target is 28 seconds (set according to the lens used, I'm using a 16mm F4 with a maximum ISO of 6400 and a maximum exposure time of 25 seconds).

    • @EmericTimelapse
      @EmericTimelapse  Před rokem

      Some built-in intervalometers are limited. Sometimes you can’t change the settings on the camera, can’t preview the photo or need a minimum of 2 second interval. Every camera is different obviously, but between older models without a built-in one and the one that are limited, having an external intervalometer is better.

    My biggest problem with the Pro Timer is the fact that I have to adjust the interval myself. For a Holy Grail recording I also need qDslrDashboard. As an iPhone user not possible. So I have to get an Android phone. Much too cumbersome

    • @EmericTimelapse
      @EmericTimelapse  Před rokem

      What do you mean by “adjusting the interval”? 99% of the time, the interval stays the same all along. The only time you need to change the interval during a day to night is for an astro one. And then the Pro Timer 3 has an interval ramping feature.

  • @FueledByTime.
    @FueledByTime. Před rokem

    I actually never used an external intervallometer. I've been doing all my timelapses with the in-camera intervallometer from my Canon 77D camera, though it's true that the auto exposure ramping wasn't good for day to nights and that the first and last images where always blurry. Recently, I upgraded to an A7RIII and from my first few tests, it seems that the in-camera intervallometer is perfectly fine, even for day to nights!
    So I am genuinely wondering, if you have a great camera with a built-in intervallometer, why would you need an external one?

    • @EmericTimelapse
      @EmericTimelapse  Před rokem

      If it works for you, that's what matters. I've heard that some built-in intervalometers were not always the best like not being able to change the settings during the timelapse, or not being able to shoot very fast interval timelapses. But every model is different and if it works for you well that's great :)

    • @FueledByTime.
      @FueledByTime. Před rokem

      @@EmericTimelapse I realize that my comment sounded a bit condescending, but I didn't mean to be, sorry about that. And I admit that I didn't think about very fast intervals, it's true that you usually can't go bellow 1 second... But in such cases you may also be limited by the speed of your memory card, which is a whole other issue 😅
