    This are German Bagpipes, called Dudelsäcke. There are four different German Bagpipes. I think this are Marktsäcke, also called German Warpipes. Dudelsäcke are usual instruments in German medieval music.

      +Highland Wanderer Yes, real Scotish? Because they are dressed like medieval German/Austria, also the bagpipes are not Scotish (much smaller, but more pipes). If you like this bagpipe music, may be you also like the German medieval groups Schelmish, Vermaledeyt, Skalden and Furunkulus. I love them. Greetings from Petra

      the word Dudelsack (or Dudelsäcke like you say) is the word in german for all the bagpipes in general, is like the word "bagpipe" for the people who speak english or "gaita" for the people who talk spanish (like me, a mexican bagpiper), every bagpipe got a name, not just "Dudelsack" "bagpipe" or "gaita"... The correct name of this pipes is "Mittelalter Marktsackpfeife" the other two are the "Hümmelchen" (a smaller version of the Marktsack) & the "Schapferpfeife" (a Bagpipe with the drones resting to the front instead of the shoulder) of the German pipes

      They were played all over the medieval world, not only Germany. However, there's a shit ton of "medieval" bands in Germany who all seem to love the bagpipe for some reason.

      I think you can ....say they are re-constructions of German bagpipes ... thankfully they died out a long time ago .....

    Very nice! In Portugal we also have a bag pipe type, as Curt said, due to the presence of arabs i believe, before XII century, when the country born as Portugal (1142). Is called "Gaita Mirandesa" and it comes from Miranda do Douro, north of Portugal. Now we have a roll of Medieval Fairs and events, where Portuguese and Spanish come to play. Try "CORNALUSA" (PT), "SONS DA SUEVIA" (PT), "MEDIEVO" (PT), "CURINGA" (PT), "ALBA LUNA" (PT), "GOLIARDOS" (PT), "RECANTO" (PT), "UT MEDIEVAL" (ES), "STRELLA DO DIA" (ES). Enjoy! Cheers.

    Scotland ?! lol These are medieval style bagpipes. Bagpipes came from the middle east and the crusaders brought back many thing from the east including music instruments. In fact these are older then Scottish Highland bagpipes and the music has nothing to do with Scotland ;) Nice video though

    • @pallybot
      @pallybot Před 7 lety +2

      The Highland bagpipes orginated from Scotland... Just because you come from a sand dunes doesn't mean you can claim everything to yourself. I'm not racist, but go back to your hole.

    • @Lepercurtidoo

    • @pallybot
      @pallybot Před 7 lety +1

      I agree with you, but honestly, so fucking what? People would rather listen to Scottish Highland pipes than sand pipes. There's no arguing that pipes come from 'Africa' just like language come from 'africa' no surprise at all.
