I love how all the emotional scenes with her dad at the end are completely overshadowed by their desperate need to somehow hide his face. It just ends up looking like the cameraman was extremely incompetent. This whole game is one big joke.

It was really jarring so I checked the VOD to see what I was missing and it looked like it had a fair amount of quality build up, left on the cutting-room floor. I know the video was running long, but I think it disservices the moment (and climax of the game/video) to leave only half the context. I know it's a lot of work though so nbd 😅

The game has lost itself somewhere. You can just see that 2 factions existed in development. -Serious horror game with high stakes plot -Goofy nonsense, sticking arms on with glue, irrational characters, cheesy dialogue. And I think that conflict impacted development because so many scenes had to be redone. Like the fable at the beginning and end of RE8. No other resident evil game has every had such a thing and it barely even fits the plot of the game in the first place. Mainly how the mother is supposed to run off with the child, but instead it was Chris. Like the original plan was for Mia to actually be a character with agency in the game, but it was scratched and instead she is a narrative device. I mean they have admitted that Ada was supposed to be in the game for most of its development time.
Why do people with powers always want to get rid of them? Is it even adequately explained what the downside to Rose's condition is? Is the entire plot of this DLC seriously about her desperately trying to remove her powers because she's self-conscious about how easily she can kick people's asses? Also, why do villains in this series exclusively try to execute the protagonist after already capturing them and rendering them unconscious? "I have you right where I want you and I've defeated you pretty much completely, to the point that you're quite literally bound and gagged at my feet, _but how's about we prolong our fun a little longer?"_ What incredible cringe. Holy shit this DLC is bad. Like, actually the worst thing with the Resident Evil name on it in a long while, which is fairly impressive.
Resident evil fans, explain me. I have never played any of the games, but thought this was a series about a zombie virus and fighting zombies. What the hell is going on here? Why is there a parallel reality with nightmare monsters, clones, magic, and mystery?
The first five or six games explore that concept. In the seventh(?) and onward they explore more fantastical and sci-fi concepts surrounding Umbrella and their experiments with Evelyn. Just note that I'm not really familiar with the franchise either, but Capcom is kind of hinting at Umbrella having meddled with dark magic in its earlier years, tracing as far back to medieval times.
