The old road was blacktop in the 1990s ... deteriorated in the 2000s ... restored during the COVID era ... with a wonderful surface of granite up the eastern rise to the forested area. Beyond that it's still motorcycle friendly ... if you watch for debris ... and stay right on blind corners. In the 1990s I rode it during control burns.
