People talk about the shots, pace and serve of Daniil a lot. You need to talk about his biggest asset, his movement. His movement is absolutely so underrated. One of the best on tour. You can't hit through him because he gets to everything. He is very fast, with long arms, and a long stretch stance, so Novak just could not get anything by him. Other than a few bad shots, Novak did not play poorly. Daniil was on another level. Medvedev will have more problems with guys like Roger or Thiem. Roger who can mix it up so well, hit huge approach shots, and put away volleys, or guys like Thiem, who can just blast through almost anyone. Well played.

You gotta push Djokovic back off the baseline and take away his early shots because Djokovic is one dimensional and plays only one way so he will try to take it early anyway but will make mistakes. You basically got to frustrate him to beat him.

Medvedev plays very very well. With this form, it reminds me of Cilic’s top form in 2014. Hope Medvedev could sustain his form to earn multiple GS

Medvedev played offensive like Cilic at some cruical points at this match, his groundstrokes were on fire when it is most needed .

Probably he will. I'll be hugely disappointed if he ends but being one slam wonder. That's highly unlikely though, with this level and current competition I see him getting 3-6 slams which puts him in league with courier, murray etc.

Wow what a clean victory for Medvedev! He played excellent tennis with impeccable serving, great hitting from the back of the court. I always consider him a player who plays high percentage shots and always get the ball back in play for longer rallies but the key was that he pulled the trigger and got aggressive at unexpected moments in the rallies..the insurance break in the 3rd saved him big time..Djoker was clearly feeling the pressure and nerves based on numerous uncharacteristic misses, with what was at stake but Medvedev deserved this so much…He was the better player overall and happy for his breakthrough…Tennis needs new faces to lift grand slam trophies…What a year for Djoker but next season will be very interesting to see…The Olympics losses and this one will sting a lot…Medvedev and Zverev seem to be the ones to watch out moving forward..and what a storyline with the big 3 still tied at 20-20-20…As a Fed fan, I didnt complain at Medvedev’s win but again hats off to Djoker for a phenomenal year!
