@įງlᴗᴖ you’re the only dumbass here. this has little to do with it being “darker” but the fact that the water is removing the dirt in the spot that it goes over and the tag will remain even after it dries because of the part it made in the dirt. if it was on a clean surface it wouldn’t be as defined and it’d just disappear once the water dries up. you’re so eager to 1 up people and call them dumb that you yourself are actually the one saying dumb shit.

@@jonathankutkinas3074 It's still not water lmao. It's transparent paint which oxidizes, loses hydrogen and turns black with time. They're highly acidic but looks like water to someone who doesn't know what it is, you can basically just defuse any social situation where people would call the cops and the next day it's black. It's called "etch" around here and was super popular in the early 00s, but has a bunch of different brand names

I'm assuming it's a silver chloride solution, possibly mixed with a dilute clear paint or something to make it stick better. That's pretty cool. You could make a photographic print using a transparency, then take the transparency off and use a spray bottle full of water to spray off what was protected from the sun and hasn't reacted and then a sodium metabisulfite solution to fix it and then another wash with water. I don't know how well it would work on something like a concrete wall, I've only done it on paper. I think silver bromide should work faster, and silver iodide the fastest. Seems silver chloride reacts slowly enough that you don't really need a dark room, although working in direct sunlight probably won't produce the best effects. I think at night with your own strong portable UV source you could do one pretty quick, using the cover of dark as your own dark room. You could then just spray a clear coat to preserve it if you want.
All you really need is silver nitrate, table salt and a fixer (I use sodium metabisulfite). I've never done any graf, but I've got a desolate piece of concrete in mind where I might try this out sometime with some art prints.
