PARA OS FÃS BRASILEIROS PERDIDOS NA INTERPRETAÇÃO DO FILME! Escrevi uma opinião do que vi no filme e explicação para a história apresentada. Vamos usar esse tópico para discutir as teorias envolvidas. Tudo começa com ionna escapando de um cativeiro, no qual ela não sabe há quanto tempo está presa. Enquanto lá dentro, teve lembranças de muitas coisas que serão explicadas ao longo da história, que é contada através de um longo flashback. A personagem da ionna é uma estranha em um mundo de padrões. Onde todos cegamente (“cegos pela luz” - SAMARITAN) seguem uma ideologia única, refletida pelo retrato da mulher observando a palma de sua mão (talvez se idolatrando, cultuando a si mesma, um egocentrismo mascarado de religião), ionna se vê perdida e “fora do lugar”. Ela busca refúgio na casa de uma estranha, e a estranha conta sobre como o mundo em que ionna está agora mudou. Fala também sobre uma “festa que nunca acaba” e diz que ionna talvez um dia seja convidada a participar. Toda essa informação desperta sua curiosidade, e então, após tanto tempo morando nessa casa com a estranha (que, curiosamente, se assemelha muito a ionna) ela resolve sair e explorar o mundo lá fora. Vale lembrar que ionna passou a maior parte do tempo nessa casa assistindo TELEVISION, aparentemente a única emissora de TV da época, que transmite apenas conteúdo perfeitamente selecionado e filtrado. Isso será muito importante mais à frente na narrativa. Vendo-se pronta para tentar se camuflar no meio das outras pessoas, vestindo-se de branco e imitando os gestos aprendidos, ela sai para explorar o mundo. E assim, meses se passam. No percurso, ela acaba encontrando alguém (THE CONFIDANT) com “uma voz diferente” e que também vinha “de fora”. Ela nunca contara a ele de onde ela vinha, mas, mesmo assim, viveram um romance. Algo que notei, é que quando ela se cansa de alguém ou de suas atitudes, ela começa a enxergá-los em loops de tempo, onde a pessoa se trava entre um palavra e outra. Quando isso ocorre com seu parceiro, ela percebe que não pode confiar nele e nem em ninguém, porque os tempos não permitem isso. Após muito tempo vagando, ela decide ir até a festa que nunca acaba (THE UNENDING PARTY), junto de seu companheiro. Lá encontram pessoas empoeiradas (que aparentemente estão nesse local há muito tempo) que se vestem umas como as outras, de branco, com máscaras de animais, lobos, e que bebem uma bebida branca e leitosa (referência a bounty?). É um local subterrâneo e escuro e há música! Ela se sente deslocada, porém fascinada pelo comportamento dessas pessoas. A cantora canta TEMPLE e, realmente, ali parece ocorrer um culto que nunca termina. De repente, os congregados parecem notar sua presença ali e a obrigam a deixar o local. E o culto continua, talvez por toda a eternidade. Ao deixar o local da festa, sozinha, pois seu companheiro lá havia ficado, ela encontra um carro com pessoas que ela não conhece, mas que também vieram de outros lugares. E ela segue com eles, pois os vê como aliados. À noite, param para fazer uma fogueira e ela conta aos novos companheiros como tudo funciona por ali. Ela tem uma revelação ou pesadelo sobre o que poderia acontecer com ela caso fosse descoberta no meio daqueles que se vestem de branco, ela, uma estranha que veio do lado de fora desse novo mundo. Os rapazes em volta do fogo entreolham-se enquanto ela conta tudo a eles. Note que em sua revelação, um dos rapazes está presente ajudando em sua prisão e execução na fogueira, como faziam com as bruxas na Inquisição, apenas por pensarem, agirem ou serem diferentes. Ela, nesse mundo, é comparável a uma bruxa, ela é uma “outsider”. Ela os convoca para participarem com ela de uma revolução, que ela dá início ali, naquele momento. E eles se juntam a ela. No carro, a caminho da batalha revolucionária, percebe-se que o rapaz que também estava em seu pesadelo, está a observando de maneira estranha. E ela nota isso. Ao chegarem no campo de batalha, ele fica pensativo no carro e é o último a sair para a batalha. Indeciso. Eles vencem a batalha, mas ainda há muitos daqueles que se vestem de branco na festa que nunca acaba. E é pra lá que ela vai, mesmo ferida depois da batalha. Chegando lá, ela começa a explicar a todos os que aconteceu e como as coisas serão a partir daquele momento (NOT HUMAN). Ela então coloca fogo no lugar onde a festa que nunca acaba acontece. E assim, coloca um fim na festa. E a fonte da bebida branca misteriosa se seca. Então, ela é traída. Aquele que ela pensava ser seu aliado, a captura e a leva para ser trancada em um cômodo escuro. Sozinha. Ela está trancada do mundo (GONE). Nessa reclusão ela tem visões de si mesma se reconstruindo e deixando partes suas pelo mundo (partes do corpo feitas de gesso), deixando sua marca. Ela sabe que mesmo estando agora trancada e longe do mundo, o que ela fez por ele ficará marcado para sempre, mesmo que ela se vá. ionna está tranquila. Sabe que não será esquecida. Enfim, é uma história que envolve o enfrentamento do medo do desconhecido e envolve também a coragem para se fazer algo diferente do que é a norma e esperar ser lembrado por isso. Ninguém quer ser esquecido. Todos têm medo de ser esquecidos, mas nem todos têm a coragem de enfrentar esse medo e os obstáculos necessários para se deixar um legado. E aqueles que o fazem serão lembrados por isso. The strawberries and the thick milk were a huge factor in the BOUNTY era. My interpretation is that this history (everyones afraid to be forgotten) hapenned before her BOUNTY ERA. Ionna finally escapes the tribe and starts singing "Carry my head", gets lost in the forest where she remembers the strawberries and the thick milk (she looks for those items in the forest).
Yeah that would make sense. I thought the film was like a life cycle, reincarnation themetically. But in the "iam" world, I can see that, it's like an origin story! :-)

The strawberries and the thick milk were a huge factor in the BOUNTY era. My interpretation is that this history (everyones afraid to be forgotten) hapenned before her BOUNTY ERA. Ionna finally escapes the tribe and starts singing "Carry my head", gets lost in the forest where she remembers the strawberries and the thick milk (she looks for those items in the forest).
