Who listening this masterpiece in 2024? 🏴
They turned out some great hits but this remains one of my favs..
This was my favorite song whan I was a kid in the 70ies. Still love it.
Słucham, bo jest naprawdę ładny utwór.
Me
First heard it in 1977, and I still love it!
OH my GOD i was twelve when Slade released this classic, im now 61, and still enjoying it.
Likewise
Same. Seems like yesterday...
I was born 25/09/62 lets crack on
I‘m 75 and I will love this group forever. I‘m eastgerman. We always sat behind the Wall, but we had enough possibilities to get in contact with English rock music. God bless English Rock Music!
We need bands like this again
You will never beat this kind of music to what we had in the 70s
The most under rated band ever, happy times😊
No songs made or produced nowadays come even close to being this good, legends
as Noel Gallagher said, the greatest pop tune ever made
I saw them live in concert in Bristol .... and the production was just as perfect 🙂
.
Just quality on that stage !!!... Just nice blokes !!!!
I'm only here because wrestling legend William Regal claimed it was his favorite song.
I love it😊
I remember being so happy when I bought this in '74 when I was ten. Played it over and over. Six years later, when they were all but done, I witnessed the greatest comeback of any band ever at Reading.
We had the best music. Slade never became corrupted (though they tried) by the US. A memory of English perfection, unsullied by America. The dog's bollocks.
I was at Reading that year
That was the second song for my father to his funeral, one of his favorite. RIP Papa I will will always love you till the end of time.
Get a grip, he won't know what song was played
@@Tombro1856Mmm.🤔 I wonder; how can you be so sure?
@@portcullis5622 Dead and gone unless bluetooth have invented some amazing capabilities beyond imagination
@@Tombro1856 Have you ever thought that his father might have chosen those songs in advance?
None of us really know what happens, but there is some evidence that the spirit of people can stay around.
What a fantastic country we had back then
No. It wasn’t diverse at all. Very grey and boring.
@@stanmonzon5788 ok now get back to research of your gender identity.
Absolutely. No diversity. Much better.
@@stanmonzon5788 yes how wonderful, stick diversity where the sun don't shine.
Danke!
How this song did not make it to the No1 spot is a mystery --- its one the best ever from Slade
Slade are for life not just for Christmas
Peter Alderson nice one
indeed.
very good...
Slade alive
Big noddy
This is a pure classic, and how does it feel, wow….fantastic band fantastic music
I may be 63, so what ! these guys still rock me !!
Hey mate, I am 62 next month, know what you mean.
Never too old to rock n' roll.
@@maddoman11 KOR . stay healthy !
I think what’s amazing is I can’t think of a modern day singer that comes close to Noddy’s vocals. Dude was insanely talented!
and you never will, top bloke as well
He seems to borrow some of his technique/style from John Lennon, which is also what Liam Gallagher did. I can hear small traces of both Liam and John in his voice(obviously he came before Liam) but he has a unique rasp and vibrato that sets him apart. I am a massive Beatles and Oasis fan, and this is the first song I've heard from Slade other than Cum On Feel The Noise, and I must say it is definitely something I'd listen to again!
@CasualGameDev noddy is ten times the singer Lennon could ever be.
Kevin dubrow
So many people have forgotten all about Slade. What a great band!!!!
Forgotten until every Christmas, which is both ridiculous and glorious at the same time.
They aren't a guitar oriented band anymore. Now they have a new frontman / band member who plays keyboards beside singing.
so sieht es aus
I've heard some of their songs, but I had never heard of Slade until I stumbled onto them here. Glad I did.
A timeless classic. Still as good now as it was back then. Me and my late brother used to listen to it again and again. It think of him every time I listen to "Far Far Away".
R.i.p to yr brother wot a great tune for him 😢
Noddy Holder was sorely underrated. He had one of the best rock voices ever!
MsG
He certainly did
What do you mean "was" he is still alive?
not "one of the best"....... THE best
That's exactly what Ozzy Osborne said in an interview, "I think Noddy Holder has possibly the greatest voice ever in rock", that's quite a reference there.
@Richard
Absolutely, I live about 45 minutes from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I wouln't set foot in it until Slade is in it (I always used to say Slade and Sister Rosetta Tharpe but they put her in a couple of years ago).
We are all gonna die. Thank god we had Slade. xx
Agree! 🏴
Glad i was in my teens those days, one word, Legends.
Yo también me alegro
Im a singer and Jeesh,Noddy's vocals are so deceptive. You think 'Oh,i can sing that' until you try it and you realise how high it is. Mental voice!
Also he mastered the art of cranking the raspy tone just perfectly so much as it is needed.
What would the 70s have been without Slade, the voice of Noddy Holder shaped a whole glam rock generation. He and the band Slade will not be forgotten. His music was a part of my youth in the 70s the most beautiful years forever. It's always nice to hear this great music from Slade, it's just timeless. Put on your headphones, close your eyes and think back to the 70s.
Great decade of music, ruined slightly by the moronic punk movement towards the end of it
I agree..was in my twenties..great time
Great words and i think you are so correct best music ever 😍😍
@@kevinbeck6785 Yes, the best music of all time and of my life. I think each of us who was able to consciously live through this wonderful time should thank God. Today's world has become a bad one, unfortunately.
I saw them live, early seventies, AWESOME.
Never forgotten Slade a brilliant band noddys voice was awesome x
Agree! 🏴
Slade is superb
For those who don't know it.. but this is Noddys favourite Slade Song of all..
and Slade
are my all time favourite band..can't beat a bit of Noddy in my ear hole..love em best band ever...👍
I did not know that - it's one of my favourite Slad songs too, so I can understand why
@donnacoulson7173
yes far far away is his favourite track of all (Flame) Great Flim..
Great Band.. & Far Far Away A Great Track amongst all others.. in fact.. don't know if many slade fans will know but years ago Noddy done a Fish and Chips Advert with the theme song Far Far Away being in it with different lyrics if you've not seen it..check it out..
Being a proud Walsall boy It’s wonderful to know this song is about my hometown. Cheers noddy and the boys 😉.
One of the absolute best bands ever ❤❤❤
Love to all from Australia ❤❤❤
This is Slade's best song, in my opinion 🎸
and it only got to No2 in the charts !
Thank you for all the music you gave us Slade;):)
It is a crazy good song. In my world it is a top 5 song ever. Still after all these years, I sing it every day under the shower.
Good memories, good days with wunderfull music. Nice girls just enjoying life..
Long ago but not far away....still love it ......thank you for loading....
British music at its best
I was 18 at the time I had no one at all so I joined the British army. Got deployed at 19 and for the first time I had a family. And I was far far away with my new family all my brothers thanks to the army and all the people who became my family
Man Slade is definitely not as recognized as they should be in America.
I'm not sure they got much airplay in the 1970s, I was born halfway through the decade. But they did in the 1980s with "Run Runaway". I remember seeing the video on a simulcast radio/video show, 'The Beat', on Detroit's WRIF and the local PBS channel 56 when it was released. That was a very popular show, one of few video shows for people who didn't have MTV on cable or satellite. I'm not sure if it coincided with Quiet Riot's success with Cum On Feel the Noize. I think Slade got a lot of renewed interest from that.
I ❤ that Slash wears his hat as a nod, to noddy ❤
Far far away never released as a single over there bizarrely
Super,legend group, love ❤️ 🙏🎶🎵🎼🎸🎤🥁✌️🍀👌
Slade slayed.
Noddys voice is so earthy. It’s like three voices at once, so powerful. The arrangements are masterpieces. Very much brummies and songs for the working man.
Not brummies, Black Country. Big difference if you live there
@@satjinder The work ethic is still the same. God bless the engineers and the Artisans of the Midlands.
@@kendarbyshire9044 couldn't agree with you more I'm south Wales lad and Slade was my father's favorite band and trust me my father was a true graffter B.L.A 💙💙💙
This is my teenage years in a song
I feel simply good when I listen you sing this beautiful song.
I send you all my love ❤️
🇮🇱🇦🇷🏆
im 24 my dad died recently and this song for me is a slice of him, hope youre in them clouds.
Take care. All The best.
This song reminds me of my dad. RIP
Just like you. This masterpiece reminds me of my wife..RIP Charlotte...🏴💙
Wish I was Back in the 1970s & 80s Music was Great Back Then👍🏾
I was 18 and my friend and I were far, far away from Liverpool. We cried when we got home to the sound of this song
Creative genius of a song that conveys a person's curiosity for exotic cultures, sights, sounds and experiences.
I always thought it was about being homesick.
@@hedgemist691 Maybe both!
The best of all Slade Songs, im still far away Tom, The Dreamer
Remember the good time. Sitting with my Mum and Dad in Opel Ascona and listining this Music. German Autobahn. Now i am a truck driver and still happy to listen this Song
Noddy's voice back then was brilliant. One of the top ten singers of the time.
Top 5 easy..
What a superb song , proud of this and happy to be on my CV of Slade hits as the studio engineer x
Thank you for your service! 🎸🤣♥️
Awesome awesome how were they as people - for real? Lucky sod......
Cool! Nice comment and may I say you did a great job. Happy new year.
Noddy, don’t stop you songs , You are the best…😎👍
The underrated band of 20 th century...
Yes, slade and cockney rebel.Great performers and great songwriters, both bands so underrated.
Absolutely .... great band ... great era .... I like to connect on my YT Channel doing Bowie covers ... sometimes my One Man Band versions get people laughing ... I have a collection of rotten fruit that they donate onstage so I know keep the car running at stage exit left.
This was unquestionably their best ever. And the movie in which they starred - and from which this classic came - should imo be *immortalised* in rock/pop's all time HALL OF FAME. Does one not agree?
Get well soon good ol'Noddy. We luv ya 🧙♀️
Slade jeden z najbardziej znanych i cenionych zespołuw wszehczasów!!!!! SLADE the Best!!!
Zgadzam się w 100%!
🎤🪕❣❤💯
One word:BRILLIANT!! 🤩
This is just the sound of the 70's!!!
Sensacional demais 🎉🎉🎉
Super group even now 🎉
Noddy could sing the Hong kong phone book and it would still be great ! Cheers Noddy!
Slade are timeless... Always there with memories of dancing Friday and Saturdays.. Dance halls are gone but Slade go on forever
Slade were definitely not underrated in the 70s. Top top band 👏👏👏👏
thanks very much for uploading
Such sweet music makes me want to be 18 again but now I am 63 I miss the mid 70s and 80s
Only appreciated how good a voice Noddy Holder has got, when I got older
Diese Stimme ist brilliant.Mit so einer Stimme wird man geboren.Einmalig.Gut...unvergänglich!!!Made in Slade!
Highly slept on song and Band. Noddy is that dude
Is this the greatest rock 'n roll voice ever? If not, at least one of the best in my view! Absolutely perfect!
I have often thought that, better than McCartney on hey Jude and other gavelly voices other there. I like the start of 'come on feel the noise'. Baby baby babbby!
Noddy holder can shout in key.. not many people can do that.
Inthe immortals words of Brian Clough...it's in the top one!!!
Stevie ray vaughan
Another great loss to the music industry, Slade, Mud, Sweet, T.Rex, G.G and the Glitter Band, etc never be anything like them again. Our loss🐧
70s wouldn’t have been as good without the great sounds of slade 🇬🇧👍
AMAZING SONG
Noddy slays
Music in the seventies was super - here is one of many.......Great song and lyrics.
"Песочный"голос Нодди Холдера не спутаешь ни с кем,слушаю уже почти 50 лет и не надоедает
Да , согласен , но голос ,скорее не песочный , а скажем , кремневый...
Скорее кремень
Fantastic Band Growing up in Dublin in the early 70,s Slade were Huge !!☘️☘️
This was the very first 45 i bought in 1974 when i was 12! Loved them then and now........ 🎸🎸♥♥

So true.they play alot of the other songs but I think this and Everyday are the best Slade songs 😉

Slade UK for ever!!!
Slade in flame!!!!!!!!!
The simple days of early youth... where music was handmade...
50 jahre alt und immer noch klasse song.
My little dad passed away 3 years ago, and some times I listen to music likes.slade to open all the memories I have with my dad as a small child growing up. My dad was a wagon driver so he was away all week. But as soon as he got home it was the music on, and he chilled, god bless you dad I miss you so so much.
Lovely story, mate. My late sis was a huge Slade fan too and their songs raise similar happy memories.
Sorry for your loss. Music can evoke such powerful memories.
Ohhhh Noddy was absolutely gorgeous back then... i was a baby so never saw it till now n im drooling!!! Wow his eyes and that guitarist is hot too!! Not bunny but the other one, think he is called malcom
What with us in 2020 ? Slade is the best !
Takes me back to magical times.
Slade were class.
I was 18 in 1974 now 66 and never get sick of slade
I sat next to Dave Hill flying over to Hamburg. The band (ex Noddy) were going to a gig there. Lucky break for me. Fab band.
Noddy Holder could sing any type of song you could throw up to him. What an artist!
I'm 66 and still get a thrill listening to slade old dude
I love Slade, for ever.
To ich moim zdaniem najlepszy kawalek.
Yo nací en este año y NODDY HOLDER YA ERA UN CONSAGRADO❤❤❤ con SLADE

I still own my dad's cassette tapes of Slade I love them so much underestimated buy far every one thinks Slade the obvious song but there are some beautiful songs sad and just naughty xx mint I do get why my dad wasn't happy me walking around singing the banging man at 10 years old funny now I look bk
this music is reminiscent of bad but also good memories.
