    I took delivery of this amp yesterday, my buddy bought one too. He is, and continues to be blown away, just as I am. My friend said this integrated amp is better than his $7500 Simaudio unit. His words, this is a $10,000+ amplifier in regards to sound quality. Then the built in DAC, this is where I believed this unit would fall short. NOPE! I can see selling both my PS Audio and Bel Canto DACs. Not even a contest. I have only had a short time with this integrated Tonewinner amplifier, will know more in time. Put it this way, I wanted to call in sick today to stay home and simply listen.

      Yeah, price to performance ratio here is very good. I wasn't that blown away by the DAC itself, but it's not bad - pairs very well with the rest of the unit.

      @@TheAudioStuff I was not impresses either at first, but the more this DAC plays, the better everything is sounding. I have a PS Audio and Bel Canto DAC here, both new you are looking at $6000+, just for the two DACs. This ToneWinner DAC, to my ears, and others in the house, sounds better by the day. I asked the ladies in the house, what did they hear, or are hearing in the ToneWinner vs the other two DACs? The women liked the way the TW handles the instrument separation, depth and width, they could see the instrument/musician placement in their mind. Then the clarity and details that it brings out without being harsh. Trust me, this unit had some glare and was rather harsh right out of the box, that is now gone.
      Now, we listen to mainly Jazz, R&B and Classical here at a moderate volume. So, I am sure this will play into my findings in regards to overall sound quality and volume levels. And speakers too, of course. But, as of today, both myself, and my friend who also bought one of these TW 2PRO+ units, the DAC is going to be incredibly hard to be replaced. My friend has a large variety of DACs, from the Eversolo to even pricier Simaudio and Bel Canto units, and a few others... He swears by this DAC too. But again, we both listen to the same music, and at moderate to low levels. So, everyone's mileage will vary. We all know there is better out there, there always is. But for now, for an amp that cost less than either of my DACs, it is a keeper.

    After a week with this amp, it is staying. It sounds better than amps costing much more that I have owned. and I cannot get over the overall sound quality of this amplifier, the more I listen, the better it sounds. I have the matching ToneWinner TY- 1 CD transport coming in a few days, this should be fun!

    Great review! As a musician who plays mostly acoustic instruments, transparency and a natural sound are key for me. This seems like it might be the perfect setup.

      I just received mine, it is everything and more in regards to sound quality. I’m hearing things in recordings that I did not know were there. Instrument placement and separation are simply incredible in my room with a pair of Maggie’s.

      This integrated sounds incredible. The DAC is unbelievable, it is walking all over my Bel Canto and PS Audio gear, which sound like cheap transistor radios next to this beast.

    I think that class D amplifires are to be used in subwoofers, and in a maximum. And they are to use by limitate ways. The ultimate in hi resolution are the class A and AB. Much people are confunding clear sound with hear only the half of the original sound.

    • @TheAudioStuff
      @TheAudioStuff  Před měsícem

      My personal favorite is class A for HiFi systems.

      Compared to my PS Audio, Bel Canto and Denafrips Venus, there is no contest, the Tonewinner is in another class. I don’t know what TW did in regards to this amplifier, but according to my friend that has owned amps in that $10,000+ range, this easily competes, and bests them. He even went as far as to compare it to a Mark Levinson. If anyone knows that sound, my friend certainly does.

    I just got off the phone with Aamir at Summit HiFi, and am seriously ready to pull the trigger on this amp, anyone actually have one in their possession that would like to comment? Thanks guys. I will probably have it before anyone sees this, LOL! Ordered one, so did my buddy, so two on the way!

    Nice review, but I would have liked to hear a bit more about the build quality and user interface of the amplifier itself...

      The build quality is outstanding. The UI is very basic and non complicated. It just does what it needs to do. Very happy with mine, it is staying.

    As someone who primarily listens to electronic music, would this setup be powerful enough to handle heavier bass lines?

  • @lakshgaming8245

    But what do these power figures mean? In the 1970s the reputable manufacturers would specify their power figures in watts RMS (root mean squared) at a specified distortion level. This made power output comparisons reasonably easy, although the less reputable makers would often sneak power figures in as IPP (instantaneous peak power) which could easily be three times the same output measured in RMS - and never mind the distortion. What exactly are they using as a measuring standard these days - and why do they not state it?

    • @michaelwright1602
      @michaelwright1602 Před 2 měsíci

      Pure Class "A": 60 Watts RMS/channel; 20 Hz - 20 kHz; THD=0.0012%; 8 Ohms; one channel driven
      Class A/B Auto: 312 Watts RMS/channel; 20 Hz - 20 kHz; THD

    • @TheAudioStuff
      @TheAudioStuff  Před měsícem

      Exactly that, it's all in RMS as well

    which one is better? EverSolo Amp F2 or Emotiva BasX A3 ? is it worth replacing the Emotiva to Everesolo AMP F2 ?

    • @michaelwright1602
      @michaelwright1602 Před 2 měsíci

      Not even in the same league as this integrated TW amplifier. Those are 9v transistor radios in comparison.

      The AD-2PRO + blows them both away
