I mean it...gamers are (generally) smart, do people really find this Fractured Sky commercial funny and not insulting?
@@dirky9147 How have I insulted you, exactly? Also, the name of the game featured here isn't mentioned one darn time. I link to it in the description because it happens to be on Kickstarter right now but I'd argue if this is an ad for anything it's for IV Studios in general. And the video is clearly labeled as sponsored by them. And even if this IS a "commercial" (I'd argue it isn't but let's say it is) what's so insulting about one that is fun and funny and about things we as gamers think and talk about?

@@PaulaDeming Yeah, that is a rapid fire of good ones, but that one made me pause for laughs. I guess for me it's the contrast of rude indifference and the usually friendly setting of board gaming and enthusiastic assistant strikes a good "gap".
I need an assistant to take all of the legwork out of actually my games for me so I can focus on what *really* matters: buying more

I had to re-watch to see whether I recognized anyone else.
I couldn't afford the Paula tier. I had to back the sock puppet tier. Sure, it isn't a deluxe edition, and I'll probably upgrade the button eyes with real buttons when I get it, but I can't wait to get my hands into this, and I am hoping that the stretch goal for the merino wool add on and possibly the cat ears get unlocked. I'm getting hyped for that darned sock puppet Board Game Assistant.

taking care of adults are easy. i need assistant who can calm situation down when my two kids got into a tussle during a game.
With the recent rise in concerns over AI and such is there any risk that my personal assistant will rise up, eliminate me and co-opt my wins as their own? 🤔😂

Does the Board Game Assistant organize my games and cull the seldom-used ones for me? If given the parameters of a 9x9 Kallax, will BGA (not to be confused with BSG) color code them and rank by ease of play?

I would argue that it is definitely comedy first. While it didn't feel like an ad to me, I'd argue it's an ad for IV Studios over a specific game. I'm thinking the most likely situation is that she's had the basic idea for this bit for a long time, and what better place to shoot it than at a baller studio full of willing participants at a company known for their ridiculous production and upgrades.
I don't agree with the reservation about it being an ad, but I respect and understand it. Happy gaming, friend!
@@kevin735 If you've watched any board game videos recently, you've must have gotten the ads for this game. The video was also paid for by IV studios and features the game and the people who work for the company in the video. It's funny, but it's basically a publisher to consumer pipeline.
It don't believe it was paid for by IV studios but even if it was Paula gotta make money somewhere and they're a good studio.
