I doubt very much Elvis got told who refused to meet him/doesn't want a picture with him, I doubt he even knew who was lined up for a short photo opportunity. He did that sort of thing all the time, smile and nod and move on. If you have a "perfect" picture of your idol in your head (like young Elvis) thats how you want to remember them, Elvis was dying and ill at this point~I totally get Cliffs point, I cant see what all the fuss is about. Cliff was a big fan and was inspired by Elvis, and has more respect for his career than most. He didn't want an end of life picture with him. Why is that so outrageous? They enjoy having a photo with someone who wants it, why would they be upset that someone didn't want it?. that's like being upset with anyone who wouldn't enjoy going to your show/concert.

I am ashamed to admit that I thought Elvis was grossly overweight and looked horrible in 1972-1977!! However, Cliff adored Elvis and the moral of the story was that Cliff wished he had met him slender or the opposite. How, could you misunderstand what he said. I would of loved to have met Elvis and have my photo took with him, it didn't bother me how he looked, he still went on stage knowing he had bad health was overweight and still gave a fantastic performance, he never hid and that is what i admire about him. So i am glad Elvis never had his photo taken with Cliff Richard at least Elvis never judged people on how they look. So to Cliff Richard you are nothing special so get off your high horse

Funny watching Phillip and Holly now.. I would like to say I looked deeply into that HPV shot when it was recommended for my son. His doctor refused to try to sway me one way or another when I asked if he gave it to his son, a friend of my boy. He did not want to look like he was pushing things. I asked 5 other doctor friends, one was the head of the Cleveland Clinic whose son was also a good friend of my child. They all said it is the closest thing we have ever come to something to prevent cancer. He got the shot, no problems at all.
Lots of doctors said the Covid vaccine was safe and effective.

I dont believe Cliff was that offensive. He himself tried to lose weight when coronation street made a jab at him when he was young. He thinks people can just lose weight like he did. He felt he could honour Elvis with a nicer representation of him. Then he admitted his regret. I don't believe anyone in this is so outrageous. If you want offensive come and live in my village.

I agree on so many levels 🦨 Funny story... When I was a Drama student, in 1979, I was staying at a student hostel in Coventry, UK. There was a TV Room with a massive telly, and we'd all gather to watch. One time, there was an interview with Cliff Richard and this hopelessly thick and charmless bloke called Mensi, who fronted a terrible Punk band Called The Angelic Upstarts....... The subject was Religion. Needless to say, Cliff totally marmalized Mensi, with his calm eloquence and intelligence. Unfortunatley, this was very awkward, because Mensi and I are both Geordies, and I had mentioned it to evryone, and now they all took the righteous Mickey out of me.... 🙄
