We have been working on this hack for about 2 years now and is still being underwork, join the PaperMario modding community to follow the development and latest updates! There are many other really epic mod to enjoy too!

As always, I congratulate each and every PM mod, however, I can't leave without asking... will it be challenging just like Pro Mode? Will it be Kaizo-level as Master Quest was?

I'm afraid I still haven't finished any of these mods so I can't answer you truthfully, but we do expect to ramp up the difficulty quite a bunch and this mod is made entirely for experienced player, but also once we have some playable demo out we will probably rebalance lots of things has more testing will be done!
@@grobycd1024 Don't know how hard it would be to make it happen, but it would be nice if you include an option in the menu where you can change the difficulty of the game.
@@alligator64 We are still looking on how we will implement the difficulty setting in the game, we could go like DSE (Dark Star Edition) did and give badges you can equip/unequip at anytime to alter the difficulty, it is a very nice concept, or we could set the difficulty at the very beginning of the game like some classic RPG does but yes still all underwork for now!
@@grobycd1024 what about an optional Badge that makes it so you won't get any EXP on any battles?

Yes! We had the chance to add a new partner and we thought adding it in Chapter 7 would be a good idea so you get about 1 new partner to join you every chapter
@@grobycd1024 Neat! I'm interested to see how he would contribute to the party. The most action we've seen from him in the original is that he drags Mario on his rear and punts him away form the ice rink should Mario attempt to shatter it.

Few things have been changed yes, for now mostly minor details but we do have ideas for her parts!

I understand it’s a tough project but some updates wouldn’t hurt.
at this point the modders should do a collaboration, uniting promode, master quest, dark star, yours, etc.
In the modders channel from the PM-Modding community what you say is "almost" true ;P we all share with each other new stuff/discoveries, really nice community to be part of!
I used to have this game back in the aughts. Got it for Christmas of 2001 kept it until 2011 when my N64 crapped out on me

just finished a playthrough on the Switch and immediately got recommended this haha, perfect timing!
will there be any "post game" content? one of my biggest gripes with the original is the whole "game's done once you beat bowser" aspect, would love to see a change in some way there.
and is there any way to support you guys? donations, feedback, etc. would love to help any way i can!
i'm not a mod dev, but I do believe they've said they'll be adding new chapters after Bowser is defeated.
also their mod is on the Paper Mario Modding Discord, they sometimes talk about it and stuff there

@@Greeniemean1 For now yes, we have only managed to make 1 new partner work properly, the other one is still lacking a few thing iirc the 10th Partner doesn't show up in the Pause Menu, and there is an issue in Battle too I believe, I am fairly sure one day the community will be able to make the 10th partner work tho!

Sweet mod i wonder what abilities the new partner will have being a penguin & all because most partners will offer attack & support abilities & element based attacks comes from badges & items
All his 4 moves are completes (one minor visual detail left on one of them) and his world Ability works also : )
Maybe we'll do a showcase for his moves since the game won't be release anytime soon o: (I'm also very bad at keeping stuff hidden from the public xP I like sharing stuff hehe!)

@@grobycd1024 please do! I always wanted the penguin detective character in either PM64 and TTYD to join the party! In both games the penguin are present in a chapter you don't get a new partner otherwise so it makes sense
Now I'm curious, when you say new partner and new badges, are you saying they've been added without losing any of the original partners and badges, or is it a situation where they replace a partner and badges that are in the original game?
We mean, added : ) so yes you can have up to 9 partners now! And I believe the max amount of different badges is set at 128, we are still waiting/looking on a possible way to put the limit higher (which might be doable once Decomp is complete -> you can follow the progress of Decomp on the PM Discord community too!)
Another thing, Mario can't equip more than 64 Badge at the same time so that is also being look into, would be great to be able to use as many badges as possible!
(I think we have added nearly 20-30 badges for now but are looking to make a lot more! (it will all depend on how the balances/difficulty of the game will go too)
I think if clicking the down button, p. patrol will tell what we are gonna do if we don't know where to go to not make us confused.
*Spoilers* If you press C-down you get a menu option with "Check/Claim" choices only (similar to a shop), you can check or claim items from "anywhere" in the game! (might make it unable to be used in castle/dungeon maybe? that is still being discussed! )

This looks really good; however, I strongly recommend you get a writer / proof-reader on board. The new partner joining you came out of nowhere and there were grammar errors in his message.
Oh yes, I somehow didn't thought this would be the final cut, I actually made the whole thing in 1 night (~4-5h top) and didn't even review the grammar/error with Boblowblaw, it "wasn't" supposed to be the released take xP but don't worry the Partner is already part of the story, he's just going to a play a more major role. I agree the video is "not professionally" made, I couldn't even adjust the music volume on the Video Editor (which is terrible!) o.o , kinda basic editing but still an enjoyable result! And this was also my/our first real demo video so you can expect the quality/progress to be better as we release more content : )
@@grobycd1024 And I'm really excited for it! Like yeah, of course little hiccups will occur in trailers and will be ironed out later.
That having been said, I still think you should find someone to proofread before then. Little things like "underwork" instead of "in development" or "worked on" in the video description will stand out to a native speaker.
I know I'm being a total grammar nazi here, but I think it's important that the player experiences what you built as something that fits seamlessly with what it's being built on top of.

When will this launch? I must have it. Been DYING for new paper mario content for years.
I'm really sorry but we still have no idea when the mod will be release, as there are lot's of updates with our working tools and the community keep bringing new idea/features it can still take a while until the project gets on a testing level o: hopefully in 2022 or 2023! All depends on how things goes!
Any chance of a Pit of 100 Trails just like in Master Quest?
Oh ya definitely will be a 100 Pit, and other cool features such as another Dojo area and possibly a Tournament between the two Dojo school but everything is still in progress!

I don’t know if it’s possible but, could you probably have Goompa, Goombaria, Twink, and Luigi as partners.
Ps: Since Goompa doesn’t have any abilities, they could have him out so they could do the Mario Alone challenge.
You could swap Mario with Luigi.
Twink would join you in Chapter 8 so that way every Chapter can have a partner joining you.
And Goombaria might have different partner abilities than Goombario.
I think someone should show this to Fatguy703 and see if he'd be interested in this mod. To me, it looks like it might scratch that itch for a fun Paper Mario mod :D

I do hope to see an optional boss harder than Final Bowser or The Master 3.
Yup, as there will be 2 more Chapters in our final release you can expect some optional enemies/bosses to be harder than Final Bowser

@@Loner098 Ya we we're thinking of doing something similar, still not sure about how we will set up all these but yeah probably something like the Boss-Rush! Also there will be another Dojo and at some point we want to make a tournament between the 2 schools dojo, I'm still looking at how to implement that in the story so you can choose which school you will be in, but ya all this is still WIP hehe

Is this going to be playable via the 64 extension for the switch?
I still haven't done any testing on other platform but so far all the other mods seems to be working on console ports so I assume it should too yes. If not, once we are done with our mod we will work on making it portable to other emu/console!
@@grobycd1024 Cool, I really loved playing Paper Mario. It was, to me, one of the best Mario meets RPG combinations that I've played. To be able to play both it and TTYD would be awesome

I would say Pro Mode is pretty much the precursor to every PM mod now, specially since the tool we are working with is what the Pro Mode creator made! Really fantastic tool! Big Thanks to Clover

When i read "Redesign" i was hoping for new graphics, like Origami King or at least Sticker Star.
Actually the name was inspired by Super Metroid Redesign, we thought that it would fit well for the mod!
So... How's it going?
I would definitely replay this game with these changes. As long as this hack doesn't aim to be a hard type that tries to put you through extreme situations. Unless it were a super boss, then it would be understandable. I'm the kind of person who likes the original game's difficulty as it was. Not a fan of games becoming excruciatingly difficult.
They said it's harder than pro mode so you're out of luck
We will ramp up the difficulty in the game but we will also give the player the option to reduce or increase the difficulty so that everyone can enjoy the experience to their liking : )
