I don't know where this perception of sharks eating humans comes from. They have to gauge everything with their mouths and like the person said in the video it's always a case of mistaken identity. But one fact everyone just seems to gloss over every time is that humans kill around 100 million sharks a year... The only mindless eating machine in this world is the human. Humans kill 6 month old babies in the tens of millions per day. I'm not going to call them pork or veal. Those words mean nothing. They are quite literally infants.
Also people kill 80 million sharks a year. Jesus man. Open your eyes. It's people that are killing machines. No one else. All other species are an angel in comparison with us.

Well...Cat owner...Tiger Shark...and all
I remember hearing that sharks have an amazing sense of smell, so it's probably that she recognizes his scent. Unfortunately sharks have gotten a bad rap so up until now people haven't really tried to get close enough to know them. But as with any wild animal, it's all about trust on both sides. Emma is personal with him because she knows she can let her guard down and trust him not to hurt her.
Sharks also have a sixth sense, electrical receptors in their nose. It allows them to pick up on the small electrical signals that an animal’s body gives off. In our case that could be something like when the muscles around our hearts contract to pump blood. My guess is these electrical signals could vary slightly between individuals and that plays a big role in how she’s able to identify people without visual differences.

Isn't it a blessing that we humans, who has been given hands to pet others, live on a planet full of creatures that loves to be petted?
Sure, but humans needlessly torture and macerate trillions of innocent animals to eat flesh and dairy products on a daily basis....

"the same as your dog recognizing you. It's totally visual.". I'm not too sure about sharks but dogs recognize you 99% via scent. There are a million videos where the person returning after being away for a long time meets their dog and the dog is never 100% sure until it smells the person and then starts freaking out. I'd say that vision has very little to do with it; at first they think they recognize the voice and then smelling confirms it.
@Stephanie Maria makes sense. And apparently they have pretty damn good sense of smell, at least through water. I guess it would technically be taste and not smell? Smell does not require physical contact but I assume underwater it is physical contact via tastes moving though the water.

well it's true, sharks have poor eyesight (they have an excellent nose instead they can smell blood from miles away) so if they see someone splashing around they think it's a fish and attack then after the bite they're like "yuck it's a human I'm out peace". They don't normally attack humans unless the human in question does something to attract the shark or do something stupid to enrage the shark. That's why when it's clear water like where this guy is they can differentiate humans and don't bother with attacking humans. BUT that doesn't mean it's safe in clear water :P IF a shark has never seen a human of course it's going to come to take a bite and see what this thing is.

Here's a little secret: When a predatory animal closes its eyes, it's a sign of trust and submissiveness. Emma closes her eyes around her friend not because she's afraid of getting poked in the eye, but because she trusts him. If you have cats like me, you start to notice these commonalities between species and their body language.
Humans do the same in the form of nodding and looking away. We establish familiarity with eye contact, but once you're best buds with someone or trust them, the conversation doesn't stay face to face.
"If you have cats like me..."

@@hanglo7606 ah, thank u!
This definitely shows & proves that sharks can be very gentle & very intelligent.
galaxy 44 we also underestimate how smart reptiles are. I’ve seen proof that they’re very smart & intelligent.
I would still be spooked by it
They will still eat you
@@thanksmaybe4103 more people died from coconuts falling from trees than there have been shark attacks, imagine how many people have actually died from a shark
@@urielgallardo7563 those vicious coconuts! It's seriously around 35 people per year.
Aw, the way she close her eyes.... feel so good about it and warm
Absolutely beautiful creature, sharks are millions of years of evolution barely changed at all, beautiful and to be respected
Normal people: awh a bunny rabbit!
Me: look at dat adorable sharkie! Awh dem teefies!
@Totally Real same
@Sharky Naomi yeah

@Sharky Naomi yes they are
"Special Thanks to: Emma, Jim Abernethy, Candace Crespi & Jackie Batrus" They put Emma in the special thanks. So wholesome :)
I saw this too! A little cherry atop the wholesome cake, hehe.
They always do that lol so cute
Emma: This is my human, do not eat him. He's a good boy.
She’s HUGE! And so, so beautiful. I’m incredibly envious
This is beautiful, he’s proved that Emma isn’t vicious towards humans. She’s just afraid. Thank you, for showing that tiger sharks aren’t evil.
Not evil but can be grumpy or nervous.
B
They can be grumpy or nervous. They have feelings also.
Fantastic vid but still a predator not to be trusted.
until she bites his arm off
It’s not just Emma that trusts him all the other sharks come close to them because they know they are not going to hurt them.
They are curious. And looking to be fed fish probably.
Yes, and the little fishies, too (=
I noticed that about the other sharks being cool too. Good vibes Emma gives out maybe? Don't know, but it's amazing...
well he said that Emma is very large so perhaps the other sharks see that as a sign that "if big mama trusts weird bubble man i trust weird bubble man"
@@steviemaster 😄 "Weird bubble man .."
His level of calmness is amazing.
They are such amazing , stunning and beautiful creatures !
Animal: exists
Humans: *must pet*
Meanwhile in sharktube:
Guy And Wild Human Have Been Best Friends For Decades.
Best comment ever!
Emma: You see, I always liked to research humans. I thought they were all aggressive though, because I had gotten bit by those little detachable U-shaped claws of theirs. However, this one human was actually friendly! He exhibited incredible intelligence and kindness by getting those claws out of me, and procceeded to demonstrate grooming behavior towards me! He's definitely my favorite human in the wholeworld.
Plot Twist: This is why Gura start her youtube Ch.
I love this
This is so cute to have sharks as pets! He is truly blessed!
This is one of my favorite videos on CZcams. The affection you have for each other is amazing, how God originally intended man and beast to be. You have a great respect for the sharks and especially Emma that they do not fear you. I'm pee green with envy. 😊
Emma and Adam!
Have you seen this one? It's my favourite shark video. "Woman Has Removed Over 300 Hooks From Sharks' Mouths | The Dodo Wild Hearts"
Humans: Wild animals dont need affection and dont want it
This Shark: Hold my fish
Who said they dont need or want affection.
The issue is more about wild animals becoming too used to humans (and potentially reliant on them for food if people start feeding them) and putting themselves in danger by approaching humans.
@@Sea_Leech "Hold my fish",...
It's sarcastic humor meaning, they DO want affection♥️
*I had to learn the lingo too! 😂👍
Haha

The way she closes her eyes when she gets pet...oh my heart
its a reaction that protects their eyes from struggling prey. all sharks do this
