Frustrated Caitlin Clark Shoves Julie Vanloo During Indiana Fever vs. Washington Mystic Game!

- A Wednesday matinee tip-off between the Washington Mystics and Indiana Fever resulted in a heated confrontation between rookie sensation Caitlin Clark and veteran counterpart, Julie Vanloo.
The incident took place in the second quarter of the Mystics' 89-84 win the Fever in Indianapolis on Wednesday, but things were testy between Clark and Vanloo from the early stages of the first.
After assisting on a Katie Lou Samuelson field goal to open the game, Clark followed by pushing off on Washington's Vanloo before hitting a step-back 3-pointer from the corner. Vanloo went tumbling backwards on the play, but did answer with a 3-pointer of her own at the other end of the court.
But it was in the second frame that a frustrated Clark was seen shoving her Belgian rival, who was sure to embellish the contact for officials.
Clark initiated the contact with Vanloo from beyond the 3-point arc while calling for the ball from teammate Erica Wheeler. Vanloo once again stumbled backwards, only this time she got right back in Clark's face as the former Iowa star continued to shoved her away.
Caitlin Clark is the first WNBA player ever to have 25+ points, 10+ assists, 5+ rebounds, 5+ steals, and 5+ three-pointers in a game.

Then 5mins later they bemoan the lack of interest in the WMBA , the low attendances and low wages.

She's always been hypercompetitive. Since she was a little girl. She's still nice. The blocking there was a bit too much, she got frustrated, but it was a gentle push, not a shove. Just a way of saying "Stop slowing down the game." Though to be sure, sometimes the only way to stop her is to slow things down. Anyway- the Mystics won. When push came to shove. ;)

Caitlin isn't always equally good, she can be off her game sometimes--not this game, but the teamwork wasn't gelling.
Obviously the Fever isn't going all the way this season, and just having a few good players isn't enough. Michael Jordan waited six years for his first championship.

Wrong. You can put your body on your opponent, and you've seen it a million times if you ever played/watched basketball. What the defender is doing is called "denying the ball" - Its a defensive play that blocks the path way of the pass, making the ball much harder to reach its target; hence why she could not pass Caitlin the ball... Caitlin got upset about it and decided to foul her... I wonder why the ref didn't call the foul though, its almost like Caitlin has a special whistle 🤔

If I were coaching against Clark, I'd tell my defenders to be in her shorts too. Make her upset, get her off her rhythm, frustrate her. But then don't complain when you get called for fouls, or ridicule Clark when she responds. Just shut up and play.

You haters did not watch the whole play. CC was clearly being purposely held from the beginning when she lock her arm as CC brought up the ball. most people are seeing the other player was releasing her over close contact. However, people will see what they want. Yes sometimes CC raises her elbow but compared to the Thug play that is nothing. And she does so in self-defense. The whole Ref group is so scared they do not know when to call a foul and when not to. There is play on and then there is play on. Reese bashing her opponents underneath. She hardly ever gets a foul called because the Refs and league are afraid of being accused, she is being singled out. This whole League is Bush. There are at least 3 to 4 hard altercations per game, traveling, walking with the ball etc. Hardly ever is something called. But as in sport as usually the second person gets the call.

The *Mystics* won the 1st, 2nd, *&* 3rd qtrs!!... It was Mystics *26-17* end of the 1st qtr..., *51-37* by halftime...; & **76-55** at the end of the 3rd qtr!!...: a *21* point lead! With the *Mystics* having a maximum **22** point lead!!

Did you watch the whole thing? You can't be in constant physical contact with a person if they don't have the ball. It's going to take a few times for Caitlin to sacrifice a couple fouls and start slamming these people to the ground because the fans aren't going to take it anymore either.
