You really helped out a stranger today. Especially since the cover of my filter was stuck. You gave me the courage to put a little soapy water around the edges (carefully) and bang at it on the side. Guys I’m freaked out. I haven’t changed mine for like 2 years!!!!!! And in Bergen county Nj our tap water is full of lead, chlorine and cancer causing chemicals. Ugh

Good video... One thing to add is people might want to shut off their ice machine until they have run 3-5 gallons of water through the new filter. This gets all the air and little carbon particulates out of the lines before they end up in your ice cubes. :) It would also be helpful if you shoed the part numbers for the filters as the Amazon sets are MUCH cheaper than the Sears direct components!
William Steinhour Thanks for your feedback. My ice machine is actually broken, but yes I agree that you should shut off the ice machine before doing it. Also, I bought the parts such a long time ago I totally forgot what the numbers were haha. But I’m pretty sure people will be able to figure it out with a little google search :)

How do you fill the water ?
Mine cover is stick it dosen't come off, do you know where can I buy the water filter.
My kenmore elite doesn't have the air filter option, just water.
My light on my water and ice cube goes out are the filters the cause?
I don’t think the filter is the cause. That sounds like an issue with the internals or maybe a loose connection with the lights. You might want to get that serviced or look for another video that’ll help you bc I’ve never had that happen to mine before. Best of luck!
I can’t get the cover off!! The air filter cover is NOT coming off. HELP!!! I even have the Sears appliance Man come out and he couldn’t get it off😳

Be prepared for your compressor to go out. Ours just went out on our 2016 kenmore elite, labor was a pretty penny
Omg yes! Everything went wrong with our fridge last year during covid quarantine (compressor included) so you can imagine the craziness.
Me too!! Bought the frig in 2017 and the compressor has been making a loud pulsating noise and/or a loud vibrating noise. Only Sears can repair it because only Sears has compatible compressors. If you replace the compressor, you also have to replace the computer panel. $79 for a diagnostic visit will be free if you complete the repair/replacement. They are going to charge me about $1,130 for the repair--ugh! The frig originally cost $1,721 on sale but to buy a new one, sell the old, etc., was more hassle than just opting for the repair. FWIW, the 3rd party repair person said buy only GE or Maytag in his experience-all the others break. Don’t buy Kitchenaid, Samsung, etc. Sears isn't what it used to be as many parts are imported.
I bought this in 2016 also and the freezer, ice maker, and refrigerator stopped working. Is that the compressor? Cant get an appt for 2 weeks! It’s only 6 yrs old!
I have Kenmore Elite Refrigerator I set refrigerator temperature 43 freezer 0. my vegetable tray get very cool and spoiled if you please tell me what cause this too cool in vegetable tray and what should be normal temperature because 43 fridge fermeture Milk and yogurt get spoiled. If you please guide me how resolve this problem.
It could be the compressor malfunction and going bad.
Look it up there is a class action lawsuit for the compressor manufacturer. The temperature you set your fridge to is not supposed to spoil your food that fast . I just replaced my compressor because I was having the same problem until my fridge stopped working

@@MariaRodriguez-lm4fv hi idk if you’re still having this issue but ive been struggling for the last day to open the cover. turns out you can grab a hammer and a rag and put the rag over the cover to prevent damage and firmly tap the hammer on the upper right corner of the filter to get it to turn left! hope this helps!
