Continuous rainfall has again caused Kenilworth ford to flood in October. The ford often floods and when it does the site draws the local people of Kenilworth to the ford to cheer on the brave, and await those who get stuck trying to cross it.

I know, its great isn’t it? It’s the crowd that it pulls that amazes me, there are so many people watching throughout the day. I’m hoping for a lot of rain to get it really deep, that’s so wrong... but so right! 😂

The guy in the red Defender at the end was really enjoying himself
We all wondered what he was doing at first as he looked like he was going to do it in reverse! Fair play to him, I think he could have made a larger splash and still not had any difficulties. I added him into another video as I thought he was so good 👍.
As kids in the fifties we’d hang out around the ford and push out cars that failed to make it. We were rewarded with a few pennies. No luck now days vehicles much more robust. However, the videos are great
Many thanks, Iron Ponis glad you like them. Great to hear what it was like in the 50s. I don't think it has been deep enough to be fair to trouble most cars.
0:34 there is a design fault on Minis that required a little 12v computer case type fan to be fitted to cool the power steering, it is situated on the lower half of the engine....now no longer working on this one 😀

As I have found out, holding a camera, while cycling through a flood, gives you less control and you may need to stop...or fall.
Hi Tom201090 much respect to you for even attempting it on a road bike with cleated shoes, let alone filming it at the same time. You were certainly the highlight of the day for me, and for the crowd I’m sure. Hopefully your journey home with wet feet wasn’t far?
@@PaulRobertsPR That wasn't me in this clip! (Sorry!) For me it was when I was living in Wales when I was studying there and the nearby river flooded turning the only access road into the estate I lived into a mixture of river and lake. Happily the house I was living in wasn't flooded out, a few houses were. @@tom201090 No problem, thanks for letting me know. I’m sure the cyclist will reply at some point. We love Wales and have had many great holidays there. We were at Aberystwyth when storm Francis hit, check it out if you get chance. Sounds like you got lucky there!
People like that disco driver pee me off as that can send a wave right into an oncoming cars engine!
